Most of data entry websites which claim huge earnings and require a startup fee for sending you training materials are scams.

No don't pay for the data entry which claims you to pay $16 as one of my friend paid for that. They said they will send some training materials and guess what they asked you to do the same advert and place it in some websites and attract people like you did.So never pay. It's my humble suggestion.

Guru and ELance don't accept posts from employers who require they contract employees to pay for materials. On these sites, you bid on a project.

On the other hand, if data entry is something you want to do, and I know employers usually pay very well, you may need to invest in Excel software. If you can share the cost with someone however, that's a better way to go. I had an employer who wanted me to convert information to Excel docs. I told him I didn't have Excel and couldn't afford to purchase the software. He split the cost for me. He wrote off his portion on his business expenses.

Thank You WhitePhoenix. I joined guru three monhts ago, but I just cant get anything to do. It seems that You have to pay first to be able to see all projects. I have several profiles on guru since I m an el. enigeer, but I ll do anything. Problem for me is to pay fee because I live in Serbia so 150 USD is my monhtly paycheck as an engineer.

Zemo,

Check the other freelance boards as well.

I have found that most of them require you to bid on the projects, which sometimes works well, and sometimes doesn't.

What kind of work are you looking for, since you're primarily an electrical engineer?
