Sites like Mark Warren's Ultimate Wealth Package and Stephen Scott's Ultimate Internet Riches (I'm not sure if I can post URLs. I certainly don't promote their products) use stock photographs for their testimonials.
This means that the testimonials on the left are not real people. It also means that on the Ultimate Wealth Package website that guy on the right isn't actually Mark Warren, even though you're supposed to think it is.
Anyway yes I have a legal question here eventually.
Isn't this fraud at some point?
Question #2: would it be fraud if the name "Mark Warren" was fake?
I mean let's say there's some guy named Jeff selling that product. Is that fraud? I guess it's really technically the same as using a pseudonym for a book but I was wondering.

I know what you mean about the "stock photos" used at Ultimate Wealth Package. While I'm not able to confirn this without digging through pages and pages of stock photo galleries, that is my suspicion.
Its ok to use stock photos on your website, but when you attach a name and fake testimony to the stock photos, that is definately fraud, although I can't prove that this is the case.
Technically, it is possible that those are real testimonies, but I highly doubt it - when so many people say UWP is a crappy product, and then you have all of these people on the web page singing its praises, there's certainly something fishy going on.
So, while it is possible that everything on the UWP website is completely legit, I highly doubt that it is based on all of the negative testimonies all over the internet.

In all honesty it probably is fraud but it would probably require a larger investment in lawyer fees than anyone would ever win in a court of law sadly.

For your info, the UWP website is down and it is replaced by something else.
I am not sure if it is a scam coz i did purchase this ebook. I tried some methods in the ebook to do internet marketing, but the result wasn't too good. I didn't earn anything from it.

just like pc work just said, ALWAYS AVOID programs that promises to make you hundreds of thousands or millions almost immediately.
The fact is that affiliate marketing is quite easy to get into and is proven to work if you have the determination to make it work without being greedy. Aim high but be very reasonable.
If people could easily make $2000 per day at home. tell me who will go to work for annoying corporate america?
never underestimate the value of HARD WORK & DETERMINATION in everything you do including starting an online business.
Lastly, read business reviews and testemonials alot before you dabble into anthing.

I always thought people were allowed to use stock photos since its something they can purchase for the site, but need some type of disclaimer about it too.

I'm pretty sure this is the case. If you have a page somewhere that says something to the effect of "Testimonials are only examples of the experiences of some customers. All testimonial photos and letters are stock material." I think it covers you.
It's no different from several commercials on TV lately. I've seen the same chick who's making a fortune at home using several different systems (and keeping her family happy with the latest microwave treat). I haven't bothered recording the commercials to check the fine print, but I'd imagine it has some sort of disclaimer like: Paid actors used.
I guess it's not legally fraud, but it does still get on my nerves.

I always follow my 6th sense.
If you are at all suspicious, avoid the program.
There are many legitimate programs out there...of course ask here and in other forums and research.
