I'm new to making money at home an forums,so please pardon me. Just need some solid advice on actually doing something with my pc as far as making money. Willing to work at it but just not sure how to get started. I mistakenly joined a bunch of online survey sites, but now I can't fend off all of the emails.I get hundreds per day. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Hi Woodsman,

We were all in you place at one time or another so don't be shy! I fell for the survey thing myself. What a joke! I guess it takes some time to research all of your options. I researched for quite a while and came to these forums to ask questions just like you are doing. What kinds of things do you like to do? What are your interests? Are you a people person or are you looking for some independent opportunities, like freelance writing?

If you are looking for a solid business opportunity, I have joined Coastal Vacations (you can check out my website for more info). It has been around for about 13 years so it is not some fly by night operation. And real people are involved, not some phantom email address or PO Box!! Not sure you are looking for this kind of opportunity, but check it out. My advice to you is look at all kinds of things and make sure you are 100% certain you will give it all you got! There are plenty of opportunities to make $$ on the internet but you have to be very careful and you do have to put something in to it to get something out. Don't let all the hype fool you. You don't make $$ just for signing up! Or if you find something like that, let me know!!

Good luck!!

Noreen

First since they are getting a bad name: Surveys are NOT bad.. it sounds like you both got ahold of a BAD list. Use a good and legitimate list with a good reputation and you won't get spammed or asked to fill out offers. I have been taking surveys for over three years and love it. My list is free and legitimate and not a single person has ever complained about it.

Second: Back to the question: If you have experience in customer service, sales, phone work etc you can apply to some of the companies that hire people to work at home.

If you don't have any experience you can start your own business. If you are looking strictly for computer work, maybe a transcription type business, or affiliate marketing (I believe there is a folder here). You can even start up an ebay business. There are lots of options available.

Hey Woodsman,

I searched for years for legitimate ways to make money from home, and late last year happened upon affiliate marketing. I'm not ready to quit my job yet, but have made some money...The first real cash I've made on the net.

You can spend a little money to get started or you can go the free route. The free route takes a little longer, and won't make you a millionaire, but it definitely brings in some extra cash. Check out bummarketing.com for the free method.

Hi Woodsman,

There are indeed many ways to build business on internet, as in any business it will need time and patients. Do research of what is best suite you. For beginner the easiest would be affiliate marketing as you do not need to create your own product. Joining a complete money making program is a good idea for beginner. It is the fastest way to get you started and allow you to learn by doing.

There are many ways to make money on the internet. When I first started out I joined a few Affiliate programs which isn't a bad way to start as many have good training - SFI is one of the better ones I found.

Later on I realized that you had to monetize the people who said "no" to your opportunity in order to finance your ongoing marketing campaigns. When I finally figured out how to do that life became a lot easier. Keep in mind that 95% of the people who see your opportunity will say "no". Also remember that people are more likely to purchase "how to" information than actually take action. So, that means you need to also promote something of value for the 95% that will say "no". This can be an e-book, short course or even an audio download.

The most valuable thing I FINALLY figured out was to capture interested customers and make them my own by sending them to my autoresponder first and THEN introducing them to my affiliate business. I was doing it wrong for so many years that I left a lot of potential customers on the table and basically handed them to my MLM - yuck

Good luck and you'll learn a lot through this forum!

I started out by joining a money making program (profit lance) i was a total beginner when i began and over the last two or three months i have taken in so much knowledge i feel an expert...lol. After investing in the program i was able to learn different ways to earn income and have implemented some since with some success. So I would agree with hsc1898 investing in a money making program is a fast and easier way to obtain the knowledge and earn some money.

Hello Woodsman,

That's a familiar refrain from most people who are interested in an online income. My advice would simply be this:

1. Give some serious thought to the things you like to do, or can do better than most, and begin there in your hunt for an idea.

2. Recognize that you'll have to research your areas of interest to see what products you could supply that are in demand, or are missing from the marketplace.

3. Develop at least a conceptual understanding of how the Internet works and the various components that make e-commerce possible.

4. Align yourself with people, organizations, forums and newsletters that know more than you do about whatever it is you are curious about.

5. Don't be afraid to go off and try the things you've learned.

There'll be setbacks and detours along the way, it's part of the landscape. But you can always get back on track.

And the quicker you learn how to avoid pitfalls in the future, the faster your business will grow, and the more sure-footed you'll become as a Web marketer.

Above all, it's a process and you ought to make it fun!

Hermas

Good advice.

(6) Be creative too. More than often, when you see an idea in a guide book, most probably, many people around the world has seen it already. Do some innovation. See if you can branch off and modify the idea into sth simliar but new and try it out.

No one may be able to tell you what is the 'right' opportunity for you, but one thing is going to be certain. You will need to implement marketing.

Get this knowledge and there won't be too much that you can't succeed at because it all comes down to marketing. Remember that offline marketing methods as well as online produce results with consistency. I Finally came to understand this about marketing a few months ago and it has help to truly increase my home business cash flow.

Affiliate marketing and adsense are better things to do rather than PTC sites. Inmy experience, participating in those sites wastes your time. What can make you earn big on those sites is by referring lots of people that can give you referral earnings on a long time.
