Thank you all for your insight!! I received the email from Angel Stevens today, read through the entire processathome website, googled Angel Stevens, and was brought here. What I would like to know now is: who is John Washington?? He is the "author" of a sidebar "bio" of Angel Stevens on her website. Oh, the tangled webs these scammers weave!
I do have to agree with the consensus here that this is too good to be true. Although the site my email brought me to offers a 3-month money back guarantee on the $197 registration fee, the link to warranties & legal disclaimers doesn't support this claim.
I wonder why none of the people that write the testimonials on these pages ever visit this forum to support the claims made?
Wishing all of you a Prosperous 2008!!
Kalien

I received the ANGEL STEVENS, PROCESS AT HOME, e-mail today for the first time. It looked good BUT then I clicked on the "Warranties/Disclaimers" which says this company is based in Nicosia, CYPRUS and the contracts are subject to the laws of Nicosia, Cyprus. So obviously it is a SCAM. It's a shame our government can't stop these e-mail scams!

I have looked into many of them and these are total scams. The best way to find scams are to google the name of the company with scam after it.....if you don't find anything negative continue your research.....remember, to pay for information is one thing but to pay for work is unacceptable.

Forrestzoo and Pudgy Patsy,
You both do mystery shopping and say there are 300 legitimate companies online. Would you tell the rest of us the company names so we can join the fun, too and know it's real?? Thanks! Susan

Angel Stevens is apparently a scam. The company is registered offshore - which is a big flag. Also, the majority of time a company will either train you free or pay you during training.
I'm retired and have been looking for something I could make a couple of thousand dollars a month, so when Angel's email came in, I read it and checked it out. When I Googled the name there were many hits and none positive.
If anyone knows of a legitimate work at home program I would be much interested in hearing from you. Thanks - Cy Stapleton, Lufkin, TX

I, too, received an email from Angel Stevens. When they introduce Angel Stevens they post her picture next to the introduction. Both pictures are of two different people all together! How is that possible? Let me tell you. IT'S NOT! The whole thing is a fake just to take your hard earned money. So don't fall for these scams. Unfortunately, there are several people out there trying to make a dishonest living off of our money. So be smart, do your homework before you invest. By the way, when you have a job, your the one that gets paid not them. Take care and be careful.

Go to MSPA, Mystery Shoppers Providers Association, and look under members. There are at least 30 companies that you can sign up with to do mystery shopping.

Hi, my name is Jeri and after reading an email from Angel Stevens, I decided to check her out and found this site. I started to write her an email about what a scam "she" is but realized "she" wouldn't care. Better yet, is to put information on the web that would warn the public so they can make an informed decision. This site encourages me that there still are intelligent people out there who check things out first!!!
I happen to work for a rebate processing center and there's no way it works the way it's portrayed. I am capable of processing about 50 claims an hour, and there's a lot more information that is needed than what is described in the email. I get paid $12.38 per hour and would LOVE to get $750 per hour (50 x $15), but that's not even feasible.
For those of you who are looking for legitimate home-based businesses, don't give up hope. I have worked from home off and on for the past 25 years for different types of businesses, but for me it's easier to work part-time away from my home. The hours are flexible so I work 5 hours a day (only 4 hours a day is required) and I work from 6:30-11:30 AM so I'm home before lunch. What I've found out about working IN the home is that it takes a lot of discipline and organization to make it successful. And when people discovered I was home all day, it made things even harder!
Even though I work part-time out of the home, I do odd jobs such as typing resumes, transcribing articles for free-lance writers or typing up manuscripts for authors as a side business. I also do some daycare in the afternoons for a few different families. About 8 years ago I tried a totally different type of home-based business with a company called At Home America (formerly Country Peddlers & Company of America), which I did for over 3 years. I had a lot of fun, met a lot of interesting people, and learned a lot about myself, while making a fairly decent income, earned trips and awards, etc. But, just like anything else, you get out of it what you put into it.
There are things you can do from home - - just let people know what you're skills and abilities are and don't be afraid to try out your ideas. Some people make a good business out of buying and selling on eBay (my husband and teenage daughter are going to be investigating that).

Thanks to all of you that already did the research on Angel Stevens! I was soooo tempted to buy into this even though I know better. I work fulltime outside of my home but really need to work from home because my husband had a stroke. If anyone knows of a legit work from home business, where I can make some real money, let me know! Thanks Bunches!

Hi,
I was wondering if someone could help me I am a single mom with 4 kids and I really need to find something I can do at home that is of course the big word LEGIT and does not charge an outrageous amount of money to do it or even no money. I'm not looking to be rich in a week or anything like that just something will help that I know isn't a scam.
Thanks,
Tricia

This is part of what I posted on my blog (see sig file) in October.
***************************************************
"Rebate Processor Jobs" (aka Cold Cash Partners) are not being straight forward with this offer. It is more than "processing simple rebates. " It is more like "typing at home with a twist."
What they tell you, quoted directly from the landing page: "I will show you how I make money simply by filling out online forms. For each form I attach a special ID link that is assigned just for me and submit it online. I then check my account for orders processed, I verify the information, fill out another form and submit, I get $15! Believe me those small payments add up real quick!"
What they DON'T tell you:
First of all you will be placing ads, both free and paid, for affiliate programs you select from Clickbank. There is nothing wrong with doing that. Many people who have bought any of the programs that teach how to do that have discovered they really can make a lot of money online as an affiliate marketer.
Second, what Cold Cash Partners also does not tell you is the rebates you process are the rebates you yourself offer when you place your ads!
Say What? I have read and re-read the ad copy and there is NO WAY you could have figured that out before buying the product.
And guess what. NO REFUNDS!
To be fair, the idea is that you will get so many more sales from offering a rebate than you would have had you not offered the rebate, that your bottom line will grow. After all which ad would you buy from, the one offering a rebate or the one that did not offer a rebate?
However, no one likes to be deceived, and this program definitely has deceptive ad copy. To tell someone they will be "processing" rebates does not even hint that they will be "giving" rebates, or "making" rebates.
Not only that, but offering rebates on Clickbank products is a clear and flagrant violation of Clickbank's Terms of Service #6e which states:
"You agree to make no such promotions promising customers rebates, coupons, tickets, or vouchers in connection with their ClickBank purchase". Clickbank may suspend your account and hold your funds once they find you in violation. YIKES!
******************************************************
So now you know.

Hey I'm glad that I found this website after looking for more information on this Angel Stevens website. I thought that this would be something else fun to do in my spare time around what I currently do. I don't think that there really are that many LEGIT work from home sites. I do work for a company on a part time basis, can be worked around any busy schedule, has been around for 35 years and is listed on the NYSE. It's a wonderful company and I really enjoy it.

I enjoyed being educated this morning, reading all the details about work from home. I am to a stay at home mom and I always look for opportunities to help my family stay upfloat, and to help support my husband at any way possible. It is hard being a stay at home mom, because sometimes it put you in a place where you feel hopeless and worthless. Other times I look it at a blessing for my children to be able to stay at home with me and be safe. I have a bachelors and feel like I should be doing something more sucessful. If it is really any opportunities out here to stay at home to do or even a franchise to consider would someone share some ideals with are kind.
Thanks

To answer the Mystery Shopper questions... Yes, they are legit, and here is what you go to find the websites to sign up... Go to volition.com or Jobslinger.com. It is self explanatory from there! Good luck to you. And do not pay anyone to become a mystery shopper. Ever!

For mystery shopper jobs, go to sassieshop(dot)com (Confero, Inc.). I joined a couple of years ago, haven't actually done one yet, but get emails all the time and jobs in my area fill up fast. I also take online surveys with Consumer Opinion - I'm not sure of the exact website at the moment. But I do get checks in the mail from them on occasion where I've completed a survey. Thank you for the information on processing rebates at home. I was researching the legitimacy of the website when I came across the great information posted here. You saved me $197 I didn't need to spend. Still searching for a legit work at home job so I can stop commuting and be home with my girls!!!

I wouldn't plan on making much money as a mystery shopper I looked into it a few months ago. Has anyone tried Data entry, sounds like a scam? I can't figure out why someone hasn't posted a thread on whats real and whats not.

The only way I've gotten money back from fraud is by contacting the credit card company and fileing a claim. They review what happened and sometimes they will credit the amount that was charged.

It seems that a lot of you received an e-mail from an "Angel Stevens." If you did not deliberately sign up to be on "her" mailing list, the e-mail was spam.
So, why did you click on it and read it? Report it to [email protected] and delete it. The ONLY reason spam continues to be such a problem is because people open it, read it, and even buy from it. Be part of the solution instead of part of the problem.
No matter how desperate you are and no matter what you are looking for you will NOT find it in a spam e-mail.

I have worked for 2 different Mystery Shopping companies that have been very reliable and have always paid me on time. I will not work for any company requiring you to pay them. The first is called 'Gapbuster', you can sign up with them at this link http://www.gapbuster.com/xec/Default.aspx The other is called 'Service Intelligence' and you can find them at this link https://www.experienceexchange.com/ShopperLogon.do I have been working for both of them for about 3 years. I will say you are not going to get rich working for them, nor will it replace your job. Between the 2 companies, I make about $100 - $150 a month, enough to help pay for college for my kids. Best of luck, and those who choose to work for them, will find that they are very good companies to work for. Have a great day! Need more information, post online.

I worked as an affiliate promoting "rebate processor jobs". It was quiet profitable for zero investment in article marketing, but the owner of the program moved from Clickbank to Paydot.com. My sales dried up overnight and I wondered what happened. It took me a while to discover that the guy moved his promotion. Evidently Clickbank does not inform affiliates when an product is no longer viable. I spent untold hours promoting and re-promoting the program because it was making money - all in vain after the program moved - boy was I p**d off! I had about a %18 percent return rate on the program, not too good, but not to bad either. I was going to try it myself but after the guy switched I said "forget it!".

Hi Pudgy Patsy.......I recentlly tried to sign up with the Shop Till You Drop company. However, when I got to the end of the process I ran into a problem. I couldn't submit my profile without 'receipt #' which I couldn't seem to find.........& I also couldn't find a way of contacting anyone ( i.e. e-mail, chat or phone #) to ask about it. Do you happen to know anything about that company in particular. I would appreciate any input that you could give me. Thanks!

Marktech, the reason the owner of "Rebate Processor Jobs" moved to Paydot.com is because "Rebate Processor Jobs" specifically violates Clickbank's rules by offering incentives to buy the program. Clickbank is just a payment processor for the vendor and under no obligation to inform any vendor's affiliates of anything.
It would have been decent of "Rebate Processor Jobs" to have informed you, though!
Instead of being angry at Clickbank, be grateful they didn't close your account and keep any money that was in it, which they could have done!

James, put a stop payment on your credit card payment. Call your bank and tell them what happened and ask if you can stop payment on the $197. I read that this is an off-shore company and am not sure if the banks can stop payment, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. Good Luck, Melley
