after a little searching, i found the associated content... is this good? how much do you get paid, and do you actually get paid? and what are the chances of me getting my writing published so i can get paid?

I think that how much you get paid varies widely depending on who/what you write for. You could start your own blog and use Adsense to generate a little money or you can contact print sources and see if they're interested in whatever topic you propose. Again, it varies widely depending on your goals.
