Google Adsense is a medium for publishers to earn from their site by displaying Google Ads (AdSense). The one to drive traffic is AdWords, which I guess you are using.

You can purchase links directly from high traffic websites in your niche. At times, the traffic could be cheaper.

The best way to drive targeted traffic to your site is to develop content rich website and optimize the pages for search engines. It is time consuming but certainly rewarding in the long run. Traffic that is bought may not be of much help.

You can also publish articles on Ezines, and then drive free traffic to your website using a "resource box" within the Ezine - and then use both affiliate links AND Adsense as a way to earn an income.

If someone could show you a way to get customers to your site for $.03 each would you be interested? Of course you would and that's why many people love Google Adsense and some folks don't even have an Adsense account. Did you know that people will literally steal your customers from your Adsense links.
I think you meant Google Adwords.
You can use Google Adwords to steal customers from Google Adsense web pages. Why? Because some people will let you. If someone gets bored on a website that has Adsense ads and they see your ad - poof - another potential customer for you. If your maximum cost per click bid is $.05 you should feel guilty ... you thief ... hahaha.
That's the only way I can think of where Google Adsense could help create traffic to your website, so again, I think you meant Adwords.
Fresh cheap leads are nicer than buying over priced lists where you have no idea how old those leads are.
Most would agree that Writing Articles, Blogging, Posting in forums, and using Google Adwords are among the best ways to get targeted traffic to your web site.

Quoting: sbucciarel I was using Google Adwords, but the cost was getting too much and I put it on pause.
Isn't it amazing how quickly a nickel can add up after a month!

I use adwords. The problem with adwords and THIS topic is that people who are making a lot of money are willing to bid high on the same keywords as "beginner" members would use - which only makes the wealty get wealthier.
What I do is set a reasonable budget, then you don't need to worry about pausing it, etc. As well, if i notice that a certain keyword is getting the most hits, but not getting results, then i'll delete the keyword. I have a ton of other adword/adsense tips and advice if anyone wants/needs it. Just let me know.

I used google adwords too and found in the begining it was great because I was top in the pages but now others from my same company have learned of it and they are putting more money in then I ever could so I have moved on to new options. SO if you have a TON of money to spend each month great if not dont waste your time.

Being at the top is not necessary most of the time when it comes to adwords... do a google search and check the ads on the side...most times I would cover all of them in one glance ... up to 10 or there about... I would hardly click on the first on if I need something... the key here is good copywriting.. however short it is .. it's got to be good... being positioned number 5 or 8 on the list will still get you clicks if your copywriting is good.....

Well put!
The basic theory is this:
The harder people have to search for you, the better you stand at converting them. If you're in one of the top 4 positions it's most likely that you'll get clicked on by default.
Of course as maelztorm mentioned good copywriting! That's a very good point because you should be qualifying people with your copy before they think to click on your ad.

It depends on what your websites are promoting. Google Adsense picks up on keywords on your website. So if you don't want your competition on your website, I wouldn't recommend doing it. It's great if you have a theme or portal site that covers a lot of content and articles - you can pick up extra income by people clicking on the adverts on your site, but if you are trying to get people to buy from you, you don't want to send them away to someone else's site and buy from them instead.
Hope that makes sense? (pardon the pun!)
