In this modern world we want everything quickly. We want to meet the perfect guy or girl in 30 seconds or less. We want a diet pill that makes us slim instantly. We want to be rich right away, without any work. I would say that never buy those Get Rich Quick books. If these books really worked, and millions of people buy them a year, wouldn't they all be millionares if this system was valid?
To get success in home business, you have to find somthing ,you are good at and enjoy doing. Put some effort to learn how to do it very well. You will definitely get success.

Yeah...its possible to get rich quit, but not probable - but you can make a lot of money over time if you find a good program and stick with it.

Do you guys remember being about 13 years old saying I wish I was 21 years old already! Then your mom or dad would say something like "Trust me kid, you don't want to growp up so quick! You should enjoy life as a teenager while you can." At 13 you thought they were out of their mind by saying that right? I mean you just wanted to be a grown up already!
Well, now your older and more mature and you think back at what your parents said to you, and now you know that they were right. If you had magically jumped from being 13 years of age to 21 you would have missed out on all those years of learning, growing and maturing.
The point is this....
Everyone would love to "get rich quick" and jump from their current level of income to one of great heights! But what lessons did you learn in that quick process? Not much I'm sure.
What's most likely to happen, and I've seen this with my own friends and family who came into money, is that person will end up blowing it all on something silly and eventually have nothing to show for. Yeah, they may take care of some debt that's been haunting them for several years. But They are more likely to accuire more debt because they have no clue how to make more. Money that is!
Success is not a process but rather a life long journey. Yes you'll love the benefits once you reach your place of success, but it's the years in the trenches that make you who you are. Those years give you the knowledge and education that you need to to continue to be successful!

I agree. When a progress is done in a short amount of time people will usually be overstrained.
Apart from what you've said I think it is unlikely making a lot of money in a short period of time, no matter what the tons of guides want you to believe. I have read some of them and I know that it requires, especially in the beginning, time that people do not have. Hours, weeks or even months, until the first cents floats to your bank account. Somehow I also doubt that people selling those books are really rich. They rather think that selling a book is a good way of becoming rich quickly, otherwise they would put more effort in it. Just think about it: Most of the programs are useless junk, you read stuff you've already read years ago, maybe paid 50$ for an E-Book that was written in less than one day (see the rich jerk). Its just a desperate way of them to get rich quickly, if you already had millions you would never sell such a scam because it should go against every humans moral.
P.s.: I apologize for my English, but improvements are made  slowly...

So true! We have become an impatient global society expecting instant gratification in every facet of our lives. Maybe we could blame the advancing technologies that have become integral to how we do anything these days:
- cars, trains and planes are designed to get us there faster
- mail and packages can be delivered the same day
- you can order pizza and be eating it in less than 30 minutes
- you can pay your bills online in seconds
- and yes, we want to be rich by tomorrow
Overhyped marketing and fierce competition are certainly major contributors to today's "must-have-it-now" attitude. Our youngest generation has grown up with cell phones, video games, ipods, the Internet and other cool stuff. These tools have become the equivalent of stuffed toys of their parents' generation.
Some people challenge whether these advancements are really improvements or crutches. Take away the calculator from the student in the classroom, and she may not know how to solve the math problem in her head.
Perhaps we have lost our inate ability to think for ourselves, so we accept things on blind faith. And in our desperation, innocence or ignorance, we succumb to the emotions that tug at our heart strings, throw caution to the wind and end up making painful mistakes.
It would be smarter to balance the scales with common sense and do our homework; be inquisitive, investigate and seek our own discovery so that we could separate fact from fiction in order to make an informed decision. In other words: Trust, but verify!
But that would mean having to think, which requires effort, and who has time for that these days?

There is an expression that says: "You don't get more than you can handle." Usually that's interpreted to mean you have the capacity to handle any problem you may face.
I will now alter that expression slightly and give it a different spin: "You don't get more than you can prove you can handle."
If you cannot manage $100, what makes you think you'll be able to manage $1,000? Nothing has changed except the amount of money involved. It is only when you have first demonstrated that you know how to handle $100 responsibly, that you will be rewarded with more to handle... not before!
Sometimes it's better to take the long, winding road to success, than it is to take the shortcut. The experience and knowledge gained is yours forever.
Forgive the long post but the thread got my juices flowing. What fun!

Great observation Hermas! In hindu scripture, one of the greatest mantra is the Gayatri mantra. The mantra is not about praying for fortune or happiness but wisdom. The sages knew well the power of wisdom. If you have wisdom, you have everything.

And that remains true in every aspect of life!
If you're wanting some sort of promotion in your job, your not getting it unless you prove to your higher uppers that you can do the job that you have right now. And do it better than anyone else.
There's a great scripture that reads:
"Be faithfull in the little and He will make you ruler over much."
You don't have to be a religious person to understand this principle. But when you apply it, not just in a monetary situation, but in all areas of your daily life, you are laying a good foundation to build your business and personal life upon.

I have found the most success when I have bought books or joined programs that tell me up front that I may not make money the first month, I'll likely just break even the second month, finally profit the third month, and then see a great increase in profits in the following months.
It is so true that we live in a world of instant gratification. This is part of the reason why so many peole joining money making programs fail. When they don't see immediate results they quit.

I definitely agree with this post! Anyone trying to make money online has to be patient. People need to take the time to learn the skills at the beginning, and the money will follow!

I think this is a great gauge when you start any online business at first. Knowing that you probably won't see any great figures in your first three months would be a safe assumption to make.
Getting past those first three months can sometimes be the most challenging months because you're not sure if you should move on or keep going, especially if you're not seeing any reward.
This is a great period to really use this time as "training wheels" and figure out why things aren't moving the way you had hoped and so on. And really analyzing every step of the way is key.
Sometimes I would have rather had dental work done before I broke down my sales process again and figured out where I could improve. But it needs to be done.
So use the first several months to really dig in and figure out how and why things are spinning the way they are. And build from that!

I have recently began to make money online but with little success so far, although it hasn't even been a month yet the experience and information i have learnt so far is far more valuable and i am sure there is plenty more to come. So when the income does start to generate i will be in a good position to continue. there are some really encouraging post above that could really drive a beginner/newbie to achieve more

I think alot of people think of the internet as a easy way make money. but just like the offline world you have to go to school or get a trade to make big money. its called educating yourself. so in the online world its the same as the offline world you will have people that are wealty,middle class, and barely making anything online.

There are many get rich quick programs online, but how many of them are legitimate. If you look at them, many and if not all of them are flat out scams.
The online world has no shortage of them and there a so many people who try to rip off the average person who is searching online for a good and solid program.
I have seen my own share of those get rich programs that only took my money and ran.
Before you join a program, do your own research on it. If it is too good to be true then it probably is.
