I was watching Good Morning America this morning and one of the hosts happened to mention something about a segment they had last week pertaining to work at home opportunities. I looked it up on the web and found these: www.alpineaccess.com; www.willowcsn.com; www.vipdesk.com; and www.liveops.com. These are customer service at home businesses. Now the funny thing is, I went into the Willow website and started to do the application process, then started getting all kinds of virus warnings from my anti-virus program. I went through about 30 minutes of scanning, quarentining and removing viruses. This laptop is well maintained and we never put junk on the hard drive.
Anybody ever hear of these websites, try any of them out or know some info? I'd like to try one if they are actually WORTH it. Thx for any info.

I read the first two and already am no too happy with it!!
First of: Customer service. Sure, it's not that bad, but would you actually like to do it?
Also from my understanding (since before I researched the business I am in right now, I did a lot of web surfing about businesses like these), they praise to 'be your own boss', but you're being a rat customer service person that people call with their dissatisfaction to their product. You're still working for a company. Also you have to pay for willow to give you a background check? And it seems to me to be 'just a job'. They say, for a 'job' NEVER pay a fee for it! Definitely not for willow and jobs such as that. Because the big chances are they are a scam. If you're looking into owning your own business whether it's a stone and brick store, or online store, that's when an investment can be considered.
This is definitely not a 'be your own boss' kind of thing. And it doesn't give me a good feeling about it.
For me when I started, I had to make sure that I am everything that they say I can be. Like when they say 'be your own boss', well then I expect to get paid directly, no more middle man, and I hold all the decisions and choices to my company. I can definitely help you find something great!

These companies are legitimate customer service companies and hundreds of people work from home for them. Some work at home forums have separate folders for each company, you can check that out

Hi JoAnn,
I personally don't know anything about those companies, but I saw part of that segment on GMA last week. All of those companies were highly recommended as legitimate companies to work for.
Hope that helps!
Lora

Check out the http://ripoffreport.com and http://bbbonline.org (I think) to see if there are any consumer complaints...

getagrip, thanks for the advice. I had just found out about ripoffreport.com and the BBB is a life saver.
Thx, Jo

If you check out the message boards at www.wahm.com, they have separate folders for the folks who work for at least two of those companies (Live Ops and Alpine). You can probably get good information from them. My understanding is that they're legitimate companies, but the pay's pretty low.

Yes , the pay is usually less than $10/hour. Liveops also has $30 fee for background checks
