Okay, after dealing with sporadic glitches for the last couple of weeks, my computer has crashed and burned. I'm borrowing a friend's laptop for now.

Any advice on the best new desktop computers out there with the least amount of problems? And within a decent price range, say under $1200???

And also, is there a way to retrieve data from my old hard drive and transfer it to a new computer??!!

Thanks all!

For retrieving data, depends what happened to your computer. If your Harddrive didn't die, You can take it out of the old computer and set the jumpers to "SLAVE" and plug it into your new computer (as a second HDD). You can then view all the files on the Harddrive as if it where a USB flashdrive.

I assume you don't want to build your own computer, which is usually the best components for the cheapest price.

You can get a pretty good custimized computer off dell.com for under 1200.

I'm keeping all my options open, Danny 33 - I can have someone build it for me... I was starting to panic about retrieving all my files however... and I'm not sure what 'died' - I may lug the hard-drive into a computer store now and see what's what - perhaps they can save it... Thanks...
