I believe that there is a great future of internet marketing but restriction should be imposed against scams otherwise best technological gift in 21st century will loose its importance.

There are indeed many scams for work at home type of business, therefore, I still prefer to create my own product and sell it online. Well, due to time-constrain, we will need to be extra careful and be more selective in choosing the right business opportunities out there. I've joined a paid survey program before, it's rather a bad experience for me...

I think that many scams can be removed if high responsive classifieds sites instal scam detection software for identification. The major search engines should take the responsibility for its elimination.

Hi Guru,

This is a scam - nothing much. All they tell you is to type in ads and watch the 'money' pour in. What does pour in is bills - for your ads :-D

If you are really interested in legit ways of making money online, there are different ways you can do it. I've been earning online for the past 5 years (in India), so I can tell you it is possible.

But like the others in this thread have said, if anyone asks you to pay for a job - it's 100% scam!

One other way of finding out the scams. Search in Google with the name of the program and word scam. You are bound to find some results posted by some frustrated users who tried the scam.

However, if there are none, it is not certain that it is not a scam. You can apply other checks like whois. If the domain name is quite new, the case might be that not much users have joined the scam.

Anyway, keep in mind that there is no easy money. If someone takes your money without giving you something tangible, then it is a scam.

So, try e-books about making money from blogs and your websites rather than joining any programs. At least they will inform you about these opportunities.

MLM is not all scams some work. It just takes the up keep of the fees until you have enough members to cover your expenses.

As far as the "data entry" positions opportunities, your right the little manual you pay for tells you how to set up your own business. Hence the fee. When I got my kit i was really disappointed. So I decided to be a little different. I offer my "complete kit" for $25. In that kit you get the data entry manual, several e-books, and software that you can purchase on line with resale rights. So in my kit, you get everything. From there you have several options. You can sell the "data entry manual", e-book packages, or what ever you want.

I have spent tons of money learning and trying. So I have added what I have bought to the "data manual" and now have my own product. I have 100's more of ebooks to add. I am currently sorting what I have master resale and redistrubution rights to, give away rights or just resale rights (meaning the rights do not transfer to the buyer). So I have set up a download page and have my customers mark it to see when I have added new "training" materials. (most are on the subject of internet marketing, or website maintaince.)

Anyways,

Hey offer me that deal, where you pay me 4 times the amount and I will take you up in a heart beat.

As long as you are selling a physical product or a service it is legal.

Home Assembly,

They usually charge the up front fee to cover supplies and training materials in the event that you do not follow through. 90% of the assembly JOBS refund the fee after a unit or two. If they don't state that they refund your money then I would be worried for a JOB.

A business is different though. You should expect to have some costs. And a business with only a $25 start up cost sounds amazing to me.

Then again, I just called on a foreclosure deal, where you find the deal and they fund it. Then they fix the property and split the profits with you half and half. Want to know the catch?? You have to pay a NON REFUNDABLE FEE OF TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS!! I about choked.

The date changing deadlines and price reductions are done with a java script. It will change everyday automatically. One of the ebooks contains all kinds of website scripts and that is one. I don't use it though. I am not the pushy sales person. I have a good product so people will buy my product. I don't have to resort to those pushy measures. But you are right if you don't realize that it is just a script and will be the same tomorrow, except the date, how you could be taken. It is designed to get people to be an impulse buyer, usually on something they didn't want or need in the first place.

I have recently been looking in to the data entry field. I have since started my own. I requested INFORMATION from home opportunities, [email protected]. Then later I got an email from pay-pal for a Payment request. Which I natually cancelled. I emailed the company and this is what I got!!!

This is the email:

WHY ARE YOU BILLING MY PAY PAL ACCT $20 YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO DO SO!!!

I requested information. I did NOT order your product. I do not have the funds to cover that billing!!!! Why have you billed my ACCT??? Who Gave you permission to do this??????

I am really unhappy and considering reporting your site!! I was thinking about ordering in a couple of weeks when I will have the funds. But NOT now.

You are the reason people think working at home jobs are all scams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I paid a good $47.00 or so to a scum-bag company called MintJobs.com. They are a definite and wholesale SCAM. Please save your money, as this system is incomprehensible and you will make zero money from it no matter how hard you try. Just dropping a link in every forum I come across to warn as m any people as possible. Since I can't get my money back, I'm going to do my best to get the word out.

What you need is a lawyer on your side. Get them to send a letter to the scam company and you will most likely get your money back. I have done it twice now (I have a pre-paid legal membership ) The last time the scammers gave me twice my money back. They did not like being contacted by a lawyer on my behalf. I love the power of having a lawyer on my side. You have no rights if 1. you don't know them, and 2. you don't protect them.

I wish you well in getting your money back.

If you do not have a clear understanding of the product
that you are selling for a company, becareful. You
should be able to know without a doubt in your mind
what is it that you are selling.

I'm not putting down network marketing and I know there
are many legitimate companies out there but before you
get into anything make sure you take a couple of steps
first.

Have a list of questions ready.

Is the product clear and real? You don't want to promote a
mystery because it just may be a ponzi. Getting payed to
recruit without a real product.

How long has the company been around? Is it proven?
Does it have any BBB complaints? Even if it doesn't
you still have to becareful.
Does it sound to good to be true? Stay Away if it does.

Here is the best thing that you can do:

Become a member of a couple of forums related to internet
marketing and network with other people. This way you can
always get some honest feedback from your networking circle.

Most typing jobs from home ads are PPC in disguise. Sometimes the salesletter bears little relation to the actual product.

I was so fed up I actually built a review page so people would know what these products really are.

Please allow me to add to this debate. As a professional marketer both online and offline for some 20 year's it is very important to realise that whilst the Internet is a very convenient medium that has allowed many people the opportunity to work from home either full time or part time,it must also be remembered that the Net has opened the door to the many scammers and undesirables, added to this is the fact that the Net is in it's infancy, and therefore without proper policing is a situation that can only get worse.

So what is the solution ?.

My experience has shown that just as in everyday life you need to be diligent, especially if you are considering starting and running your own Business either online or offline.

Any Business you would like to start or get involved with be it on or off line involves a lot of thought, homework, research etc,and yes just with any Business you are definately going to have to invest time, money & commitment, look at any High Street in any town, city, village, in Britian and you will notice the number of Business owners are in decline, there are many different reasons for this of course, never the less it's a fact.

So along comes this amazing medium called the Internet, what can it do for you?. Used properly and with the correct guidence, you have found the vehicle that will take you from where you are to where you want to be,provided you are prepared to get the proper advice, tools, training etc.

As I am not going to take advantage of this thread for my own Business advantage,I invite you to get in touch if you are interested in working with professionals and being mentored to success.

In the meantime may I take this opportunity to wish you everything you wish yourself.

Regards,

Sonelle "Me: "I believe you! But I don't have the money! Tell you what I'll do... you send me the materials now, for free, and I will send you double (or triple) the investment price in one month, IF I make what you are guaranteeing I'll make! I will even sign an promissory note to that effect! Fair enough?"

Good thinking, Sonelle.
I'm actually offering the key to the gold mine to people who promote the PAS-system. Let me explain.

I'm getting about three emails a day about PAS lately, I must be on a list somewhere. If I invest 3850$ plus 190$ a month for promotion, this system automatically will make me a fortune.

The last guy who said he wants to sponsor me makes 40K a month (who am I to doubt this ? It's proven by testimonials).

I'm careful with the money I worked for, but I love people who want to make me rich, so I figured out a system which will make my sponsor extremely happy and even richer and of course make me a lot of money.

Here's my business proposition (I posted it elsewhere on the forum too and sent it to a few people who promote PAS). I'm sure sponsors will fight to have me in their downline.
I'm willing to back my proposal with a legal contract.

If I sign up and pay 3,850$ Sponsor gets 3000. Sponsor happy.

If I pay 190$/month for promotion, the money starts rolling in. Me happy.

I ask Sponsor to pay for me the 3,850$ + 380$ (two month promotion cost) = 4230 $. (It sounds like a lot of course, but sponsor who makes 40K a month can easily afford this) BUT

Here's Sponsor's gold mine :

As soon as the 3,850$ are paid, Sponsor gets 3,000 $ back (his commission) which brings his investment to 1,230 $.
Still a lot of money, I know, but here's where the big gain starts :

As soon as I make 20 K with PAS, I pay Sponsor THREE times the money he initially invested (3,850 X 3) + (380 X 3) = 12,690 $ !!!

Because I'm in a good mood with my 20K and the money rolling in, and because I like round figures AND I love my Sponsor, I pay my Sponsor 14,000 $.

14,000 $ !!!! This is 11.30 times the money he invested (more than 1,000 % in less than two months - actually, it will be less than two months, read the testimonials). This is 12,770 $ extra for my sponsor. Of course, once the money starts coming in, I'll do the same for two or three people a month and make some 38K extra a month.

I'm sure sponsors will will fight to sign me up, and new prospects will beg me so sign them up. In fact, I should ask a fee for this idea, but I'm not greedy. My motto is : everyone rich, everyone happy.

And don't forget : I want everything legal and honest, with contract. Who else offers such guarantees ? As I foresee an enormous succes of my system I will not be able to sign up for more than ten accounts, so if you're interested, better hurry !!!

I would like to add my 0.2 to this thread Look for phrases like no work, more money, sleep and wake up rich, its really very difficult to differentiate between a legit scheme and a scam. The best way is to ask trusted experts in that field. Also look out for those date scripts on websites no matter what day you visit the website they say you have arrived on time followed by current date. These tricks target on impulse buyers.Don't take any chances esp. when you are starting out join reputed programs. Do a lot of research before you buy it will save a lot of money and frustration.

I got scammed by Type at Home and Data Entry Bank. They state that they have a full list of companies that are interested in people entering data for them. Actually we are supposed to create ads to sell products like - you guessed it - Type at Home and Data Entry Bank and get paid by Clickbank everytime there is a sale. What they don't tell you (and I paid $49 per pop for an expensive lesson) is that you have to know something about Internet marketing (duhhh!). The way it is presented is that the system is in place for you to type at home and get paid. However, they leave the most important parts out. Like - you have to place the ads and very often that can be expensive. But, I am going to keep looking because I really want to make this work. I found out that I am interested in Internet sales - not typing - so I am continuing to research. I was disappointed though. It sounded wonderful(and all the pretty pictures looked great too). I realized that the system is like shooting darts blindfolded. I hope I find a really good product to sell and a bonafide company that will offer some support and training.

Hi tmarie I guess this product (data entry) that you bought is sold thru clickbank you are protected for eight weeks from the date of purchase just mention the receipt no. and your full name and send an email to [email protected] tell them that the information on the sales letter did not give enough information about the product Normally you'll get back your money within 24 to 48 hrs

Unfortunately, the anonymity of the Internet provides an irresistible cover for people looking to make money at everyone else's expense. I've personally been scammed by incredibly legitimate-appearing websites. My father is so paranoid that his philosophy is never to do any business on the Internet!

I've actually written an article about Internet fraud. You can find it here [Link removed - Admin].

In my expirience the best way to avoid a scam is to check out forums just like this one. There are real people posting here who have tried a lot of the online oppurtunities out there.

Also, DO YOUR RESEARCH!

Check out the better business bureau. (If a company is not listed with them, it doesn't mean they're a scam, it just means no one has filed a complaint about them.)

Find real people who use the system or program and talk to them. They should be able to provide you with evidence of success or failure.

The underlying basis of business is that you have to make someone's life better in a tangible way. If you can actually make someone's life better with your product or service, then that person will be happy to part with some money in return.

Sounds simple, but this is often overlooked...

It's actually a great way to also analyse whether something is a scam or not. Try to look past the marketing hype, and see what exactly does the business do that makes people's lives better.

If there is a tangible product that people would purchase anyway, regardless of whether there is money to be made or not, then that is something worth pursuing further.

If not - don't waste your time.

All the best,

David

As a home based business owner myself I'm aware that there are people who are PRO and some that are saying NO to home businesses. For those out there who are sceptical (by right I might like to ad) please do your due research. I have lost many thousands of $ by joining a well respected Wellness company. How the heck did I manage to do this you probably ask yourself now? Well, I simply followed, what I was told to do. My upline mentors had NO IDEA of how to market themselves on and offline effectively. There was no lead capture page provided for collecting prospects data, and therefore I lost thousands of $ in lost traffic!
They still have no idea to this date. They run an affiliate replicated website, which doesn't allow them to personalize their site except adding some banners (wasted)
That is why so many people fail in this Industry. They are tought the wrong way by somebody not knowing themselves. I did too and lost most of my downline. They couldn't sustain themselves financially and resigned. So, I have taken charge of my life again and decided to follow trusted and respected leaders on the Internet, who actually know how to market. What I learned over the last 8 months of self teaching on the net, I am now implementing. And guess what? It works, so no longer a disgruntled and broke network marketer, I am now a very happy and excited internet marketer in good hands with some of the best possible training at my disposal.

TAKE MY ADIVISES DAY IN AND DAY OUT!!!

To people from all over the world,

These are all about my true experiences and story .I hope nobody will not follow my step again .

Is it the world provides you free things without any prices and terms?

Although greedy, don't let youself fall in the trap fixed by scam companies !!

In this competitive and advanced world nowadays, many scam companies come out with their lying story in the internet to lie people . What I want to say is don't believe MintJobs.com because it is one of the scam companies in this world. Take my advises in minds otherwise you will regretted one day and the day will come soon. As an evidence, the company promises that it is not scam company but actually it is! No matter how hardworking and effort you are put in the programmes the company offers , you lost your money only. That's all the result you get .You cannot get what you want-you only get $0 and lost plenty of money with useless programme. MintJobs.com guarantees that its members can get refund in 60 days but it is a lying! I have tried to refund but totally fail . The company will not response you, it just takes away you money without archieves its promises to you . At that time , I really upset and rage . Therefore I write such my experiences to tell you all so that you would more careful on your decision . Although earning more money is most people's desires, please open your eyes big enough to see the world, is it the world provides you free things without any prices and terms? Don't trust the companys which promises you can earn more money in a short time. It's real trap to let the greedy without wise decision to fall in .
I just share my experiences with you all , nothing more . In the world , you can only get what you want in your right and practical actions . "There' s no free lunch in the world ",goes the saying. If you don't believe me ,you can try and see whether you can get what you want from the MintJobs.com.

Little advise from Katrina
