I know I am not the only one who has been gooped into so many things that it is embarassing. I live in very small town America, and direct sales and party ventures do not work out here. I am wondering if anyone has a legitmate venture that would suit me. The nearest town is 20 miles away and the town I live in has only around 3000 people in it. Mostly farmers, so tupperware is out...LoL. Along with this venture, I would hope to get leitimate help. Training calls and such are fine, but I am looking for the one on one. I don't mind working hard if I can see it paying off. I am a single mother of 3 and a partime hairstyist. I have been through everything you can imagine and seem to get no where fast. I also don't have a lot of money to spend on getting started or advertising. Any help out there?
Thanks Shannan

You might want to check out the 30 Day Challenge - it is free and does not require an investment.

Check out what the guys above are telling you, and check out a few other things. Assess your resources, skills, areas of interest and what not.
I've found that if I go looking for what's going to make me the most money, I just wind up making a fool of myself, but if I focus on having the most fun and providing the most value, things go really well for me.
So, MLM is my favorite, but I had to get over the "I gotta make some money NOW" thing.
I would suggest you hold your purse strings tightly, and keep your skillset, interests, and assets in mind as you're checking out opportunities. There are certainly no shortages, and you can find something of value no matter what your financial situation.
Best of luck to you, I wish you all the best. Susan

One on one coaching is expensive. Professional coaching can cost on average $10,000 a year. I'm not kidding. I spent $7000+ on professional phone coaching for 10 week session, and I'm still paying them back. Didn't teach me any better than the mentor I am with now who is phenomenal. He offers group coaching which is cheaper. It's like 6 months for $377. You get access to all his products, his private forum and his weekly phone-in sessions.
You don't have to have coaching at all and just buy his ebooks if you want to work particular skills.
I'm just telling you that one on one coaching is not cheap. There's another lady I recommend who offers coaching specifically for work at home moms. She charges like $65 an hour. The lady is nice though. Her name is Kelly and check her out on Mom'sTalkNetwork.com.

Hi, Yes, a Mentor is expensive but you can advertise your business in Free Classifieds. Submit articles. Social Media. Find affiliates and offer them a commission. Find joint Ventures partners and get them to sell your product to their existing customers and offer them a % of your profits. All the best. Paolo

Before you can really make money on the internet you have to learn how to make money on the internet. It does not have to cost you much finding the right program, i paid $17 for the program that taught me everything i need to know. Also, you cant look for get rich quick scams, it will just waste your time. It takes time to make money on the internet, but if you put hard work into it, the rewards will come.

Shannon, have you considered looking into your own Niche site, this can be done for very little money, and if you are passionate about it it helps a lot.
Fast money is not really possible for most people, but consistency and hard work will pay off. Your town size is irrelevent if you choose the right path. I live in a community of 200 people, but with the Internet you have a potential market of 1.6 billion.
if you have the time to research then do it, and don't search out a coach until you have a plan in place of what you want to do. Different areas of business require different coaching.
Think of it this way you wouldn't want a baseball coach if your interests lie in football.

Hi Shannan - have you tried the cafemom.com website? There are over a million moms registered there and they are in ALL kinds of home businesses ... it is a great place to get overwhelmed but hey, who knows, you may find It over there... Good luck.

Shannan,
I have to agree with
websmarts: The problem isn't that that networking doesn't work in your small town. This just means that you have to take a different approach to these people. I am working with a networking company in prelaunch that has a system to use get the product into existing retail stores to build a team (offering the ability to make money placing displays) and sales volume.
If you are interested send me a private message. I would be happy to work with you one-on-one to help get you started.

I agree with treklub. Internet marketing is a time consuming undertaking. You are going to have to put hard work and a lot of research to make any real money doing it. I enjoy the feeling of learning something new everyday.

I agree with Susan:
Susan Denham: Assess your resources, skills, areas of interest and what not. I've found that if I go looking for what's going to make me the most money, I just wind up making a fool of myself, but if I focus on having the most fun and providing the most value, things go really well for me. Before you look to others to find out what you should try, you should think about what you would LIKE doing! What are you good at doing?
Do you like working on the internet? Affiliate marketing is great, if you like sitting at a computer! But if you like working with people, this type of business would make you miserable.
Do you want to sell something? If you're planning on marketing it offline, think about the customers in your area. What do they need? What do they want?
In my area child enrichment programs are growing quickly because the schools have lost funding for these types of programs. Parents are willing to pay people to teach their children music, art, sports because they schools are cutting back in these areas.
Starting by thinking about what you want will help you find the right fit. Then post a more specific question "this is what I want, does anyone know how I can get it?"

Your key sentence is that you don't mind working hard if you see it paying off. At the beginning of any successful work at home program you will most likely need 3 things: persistence, patience, and common sense. There are legitimate work from home programs out there, just do your homework and use common sense

I think that there is a lot of good advice here. There are countless opportunities out there, but if you pick one that you don't enjoy doing, you won't be successful. Take your time, and be smart, if you are at all uncomfortable with one, move on to another. Good luck!
