is there a real way to make money online? I have been reading a bit online about trying to make money, and then comparing the sites to your reviews!! I am in serious financial trouble, looking for a day job, and still not getting hired. I have a business degree, and I'm either over qualified or under experienced. I am going to deliver pizzas tomorrow, it's gotten so bad, and i'm donating plasma this week.. So I am looking for a way to make money online, and all i can tell is that nothing really works. Is that true? What has worked for you guys? I have looked at a ton of websites that look good, but you guys say are total scams, and I soo appreciate the heads up.
I don't want fake ads for fake websites, either, Im too smart for that..( i have noticed some fake replies on other posts .....)

Delivering pizzas is not so bad.
I do that as a part time job but then I never had a degree in anything other than being a mom...
As far as to your question about making money online... it is absolutely possible to make money but it will not happen overnight. Most of us on the forum here are into affiliate marketing and we share a lot about that as there is definitely a learning curve to whole internet marketing thing...
The main learning curve on the whole deal is not so much in finding the right products to market as finding ways to get traffic to your website or blog or whatever method you choose to promote your stuff..
My computer is having attitude problems this morning and is so slow it is driving me nuts so I trust someone more eloquent than myself will stop by soon to add to this and I shall go see what my 'puter has to say about itself.... wish me luck with it and grace to not set it out on a stump and shoot it... it is one of those mornings...

Yes, you won't make money very quickly, so you need to have another income while you are building your business.
I am not there yet, but I do know quite a few people who are already successful with affiliate marketing - you just have to give it time and learn all the best techniques for online marketing.
Most of the time the reason people fail is not because of the program they join, but because they do not realise how much work is involved.
What works is learning and learning and learning, and not giving up until you start making money!

tmissmuse: I'm either over qualified or under experienced. The same stupid execuse to avoid paying you what you deserve. I learned something recently: jobs get created for you if you have connections even if you don't qualify. I couldn't get myself to a single interview when I need the job. Now, after I don't really need the job, I've got 3 job offers in two weeks through connections.
Anyway
This thread is about affiliate marketing (started by MountainMom5), I hope it helps.

Mountainmom5 is awesome, so do read that thread she started. That's the first thing. The second thing is, to not get discouraged. If you get started with this thing, it will require a lot of learning no matter if you choose affiliate marketing in the end, setting up your own ebay store, mlm, direct sales, whatever because, regardless of the route you start out on, things will likely be mostly new to you.
Yes, some stuff that you learned in business school about marketing (for instance) will come into play, but overall, you'll probably be dealing with a whole new animal.
And with things being new, there will be some learning of tools and a development of skills that needs to be done. In the process of doing that, it will be your side job to not give up too soon. Often people drop out before they've even really had a chance to see the fruit of their labour. Just like with real gardening, you have to nurture the endeavour, give it time, and stick to it.
The upside of delivering pizza is that you work for a pizza company. And if it's a chain, it's probably the case that you get free pizza. Free pizza means at least you don't go hungry in this recession (my sister worked for Dominos for a few years).

It sounds like you may need money in a hurry. If you do affiliate marketing may not be a good choice at this time. Maybe continue to earn money doing other jobs until you can research some more affiliate opportunities. It does take some time to set your business up but once you do you CAN make money doing this. I have but it does take commitment just like any other job. great success to you!

With your business degree is ther potential of creating a job for yourself either online or off?
With some research you may be able to find a product to develop or a service you can offer that is differnet or a new twist to an excisting one.

Hi tmissmuse,
Generally speaking:
- Study hard for several months to gain the proper theory. - Experiment for a few months afterward to gain experience. - Plan well so that you can execute with intelligence. - Observe and tweak to fine tune your implementation. - Toss in your changes and remove or improve failing elements.
Once you get around to creating your first site, focus on providing value to your readership. Give them what you would want if you were in their shoes.
Major tip: Don't focus on the money I.E. don't try to monetize too early and don't be money-driven. That's one of the most common mistakes of all.
Another common (and costly as well as frustration-generating) mistake is to blab about something your aren't passionate or even knowledgeable about. Make sure you know and like your topic.
That said, if you haven't taken the free 30 day challenge, consider doing so as one of your very first steps into the world of online marketing. You won't regret it and you'll get something of an idea of what it's all about.
Read from this forum and make money online sites.

Thanks mountainmom5. And you know what they say - when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. I say, when life gives you pizza, eat it. I've worked at "sit down restaurants"... I've worked fast food too, and be it burgers, pizza, chicken sandwiches, or burittos, it can be easy to lose sight that 1) having this job doesn't mean you do "this" forever and that 2) there are the plus points of free food, helping people, etc.

Edit: Oops, left out the quote code

tmissmuse,
The others have pretty well covered the internet affiliate marketing and the time + commitment required to make it work.
Another option is direct selling / network marketing. These give you a way to make immediate income from personal sales. For people with business degrees I usually recommend reading "The New Professionals" by Dr Charles King. It is a professional academic review of the industry. You can find it at most Borders or on Amazon.
No matter what direction you take there is going to be a learning curve, time and energy required to make it a success. Through hard work and persistence just about anything can be a profitable business.
Good Luck

Well I've been looking on the internet for a workable opportunity.I have purchased sooo many manuals, courses. so 'called business's' nothing has poven to work.
I'm also studying affiliate markerting seems like the only legitimate opportunity available. Though it is slow going it does provide results.
There is a wealth of information available on the internet on how to get started.
'SUCCESS COMES TO THOSE WHO BELEIVE IN THE BEAUTY OF THEIR DREAMS'
Best of luck.

A mentor that I have cleaned houses while she built her at home business -- she is now making 7-figures; so YES, it is possible! There is a learning curve so if you are serious then get in with a STRONG team of people with lots of tools and expertise to speed that process....I work with a company that offers free leads and does TV advertising so I don't pay for either of those business expenses. Each person is individual so you have to find what is right for you...What kind of research have you been doing?
