Hi I am 12 weeks pregnant, 2 days after telling my employer this I was laid off . I truly loved my job, I worked from home, telecommuter only went to the office once a month.
At this point there is no way anyone is going to hire me being pregnant, I am a single mome of a six year old already, father of my children who I do love very much is in another country, US, I am in Canada, and he is desperately trying to get here, but finances of his own are troubling him and we are trying to work it all out to be together and be a family.
If anyone has any advise on anything I can do, very minimal start up, legitimate business from home please share.
Thank you...Blessings to all!!

Maybe you can find some work at home jobs to earn some money first. Then spend some time to look for a home business. As home business will need some time before you start earning.

Hi Portiz,
I feel for you and I hope that things work out.
You can Google freelance, freelancing, freelance writing, and similar.
If you go that route, be sure to check out elance:
www.elance.com
It has a wide variety of freelance gigs.
Be advised that trying to understand online marketing takes several months and won't save your employment situation in time.
It's important to find a different way to make money until your home business takes off enough to support your financial needs.
Many falsely assume that they can sit at home, understand online marketing and start making a living in a few months. That's just a myth and it rarely works out that way.
The first step may be to apply for unemployment.
In the mean time, feel free to learn about online marketing. You'll want to start by getting a grasp of some of the fundamentals.
Read from this forum, read from make money online blogs, and sign up for the 30 Day Challenge (Start by checking out this thread and folder in our forum):
http://www.work-at-home-forum.com/43_14021_0.html
You'll know what to do from there. Just identify the major components and learn about each one. In the process you'll also get leads on what else you need to learn.
After that, experiment by putting your newly acquired theory to work. You can experiment with Squidoo lenses and free blogs.
Later on, you'll want to get into paid hosting so that you can have your own domain.
That's it in a nutshell.

Hello PORTIZ,
Congratulation on your little miracle!
I also agree with Newbie Shield.
If I may add that when looking around for opportunities, be wary of the ones that sound too good to be true.
There are many legitimate things to work with, just no instant riches.
My younger sister has been stuck in bed for months, and I sent her off to the Thirty Day Challenge since is is free, and just a wonderful learning experience.
The goal there is to earn your first dollar online, then duplicate your success, as opposed to being potentially scammed.
Whatever you choose, remember you can build a website with no to little money these days with no technical skills.
I wish you success! Victoria

While internet marketing and affiliate sales may seem like a great way to make money online, it is not a steady paycheck and takes months if not years to create a steady income.
My best advice to you would be to contact any competitors or similar businesses to the one you worked for and find out if they may offer a telecommuting position as you are now experienced.

I really from the bottom of my heart would like to thank each and every one of you for your input, thanks a million, I will take everything you have all said into consideration and do what you suggest. I knew there are no get rich quick jobs, nor did I expect the sort. But would love to slowly start something from home, I've started blogging, started building my own website, I have applied for unemployment that will kick in after my severance, but I know no one will hire me I am pregnant, had one interview and did not get it, again thanks to all!!!! Blessings....me

omg i'm really sorry to hear what has happened. I'm from Canada too. Where abouts are ya? What are you good at ? If you are good at writing, you can start freelance writing. I know about some sites such as scriptlance. Another option is affiliate marketing, but you have to be aware that it can take a person weeks to months before they start to earn money with it.

I was laid off 3 weeks ago and had just moved to a great condo on the lake, which I pray I can still afford. I have been doing affiliate marketing for about 5 months and everyone is right, you will not make money right away. I am just now seeing progress and still have so much to learn.
Ways I supplement my income other than unemployment. I put out flyers in my area offering to cater in lunches=About $500.00 monthly in profit, and I do simple things like sandwich, chips and desert.
I clean a freind of a friends house twice a month=$160.00 per month.
Just some thoughts, because when times get hard it is amazing how your mind will work to think of ways to make money, but by all means study the affiliate marketing in your spare time.
Those plus what I make being an affiliate
