Are you talking about linking to it? Some website owners are more than happy to exchange links..

If you are talking about using their information on your site, you want to be really careful with that, unless you ARE indeed linking back to them.

I tend to stick with things that DO have affiliate programs as the reason I am doing this is to make money. So I really do not care to lose my visitors to someone else's site.

You can always re-word and re-phrase any information you find on other sites as well and make it unique to your site.

if you are using content from another person's site, you need their permission. Sometime they would allow this as long as you provide them credits for the work or link back to their site.

Hmmm... It'll be ok as long as you would be permitted to do so, ask the admin of the site you would like to affiliate with...

Hi molinatore,

Best thing to do is to ask permission and explain how you intend to use it - how much would be quoted, summarized, etc and why.

Link back to the source while mentioning that you got the information there. Explain to your readers why you borrowed the info (probably because you find it interesting or valuable).

Hearing back can take a long time or it may never happen. So, some use a slightly bolder approach:

A bit more risky is not asking permission first, but sending the webmaster an email explaining that you used their info and that you linked back to it. They may insist that you take it down, but more often than not, they'll let you use it provided you link back.

Be sure to let the webmaster know how much you liked their post.

Just make sure they get credit for their work via link and mention.

I've a concrete experience with my wordpress blog being suspended. I took a diagram from another site, and mentioned the name of the creator, but somehow this was not enough. I used the diagram to illustrate my point. I never heard an explanation from wordpress although I send them many emails to clarify the issue. So be careful! I do hesitate to build a new one because I really don't know exactly what went wrong.
