Hello,
Does anyone here who has any experience selling stuff on eBay? Is it really an effective way to make money online?

Yup - I have made a ton of money on Ebay... if you have never done it , here is what I would recommend to get you started without too many boo-boos...
1) find some small items that you don't care if you make money or not, list them with your bid starting at a penny. reason for this is to build your feedback and if you list it at a penny, it is highly likely to sell... thus ensuring that you will get some seller feedback..
2) Ship quickly with priority if possible
3) Gradually work yourself up to selling mor high dollar items
4) I have sold items from my house, yard sales, even bought cheap on Ebay and resold, liquidation sales at stores are a great way to get stuff to sell on Ebay
5) Dropshipping? Never had much success with it myself but there may be others who have ....
Hope that helps a little

I also made a lot of money on eBay.
I even did the arbitrage thing; Buying on Amazon and eBay by re-grouping and re-selling, with improved listings.
Your eBay feedback score is very important. I kept mine at 100%, even though I had to bend over backwards more than a few times to keep it this way.
I sold highly collectible vintage books. I put together collections, and also purchased collections of the same and sold individually.
We also sold vintage IHC auto parts, ( a lot of work and boring) which can be usually picked up cheap.
eBay is a great place to get started.
There was a period where they kept changing the rules randomly, and I decided to focus on my Internet Marketing.
I did love my customers, 99% women who read Victorian books and magazines. Many are still dear friends.
If you choose, eBay really take the time to read the terms, and the are many. They do have plenty of free information to get you started.
Most Important: Have fun!
Victoria
P.S. A brilliant resource: I would sign up for the Silent Sales Machine newsletter. You could Google it. It has led me to online success.

One thing you can do to find out if stuff sells is do a completed listings search on eBay before you run your auctions. This will also give you an idea of how much to start the bidding at.
