can anyone give me some tips and info on how to generate traffic to my wordpress blog and to squidoo?

For blog, you ping your blog whenever you have a new post, and submit to social marker.
For squidoo, you can submit your len to social marker, join squidoo group, input quality keyword for your squidoo to rank in search engines.

Writing articles online is a great way to generate traffic. Post articles and in them, reference your blog and/or website.

Hi Michael,
The best way I believe to get free targeted visitors to your blog is to do some research to learn the keywords that people are using to search the internet looking for information on your niche topic.
Try to find keywords or phrases that are low in supply but relatively higher in demand.
Add a page/post to your site specifically about that phrase. Place the keyword in the title of your post, the first sentence and the last paragraph (For about 300 words). If your "page" is much longer you may need to add the phrase again.
When you target the exact phrases that people are using and place them in the appropriate places on your page, the search engines will index your page in the search results so that you will be found by people specifically looking for your info.
That's the best and highest quality of traffic you can get.

1) Add a signature in this forum and start contributing to the forum.
2) Join similar other forums of same nitche that of the and contribute and drive traffic using the signature.
3) Add links to your websites in blogs and forums where ever it is possible. But dont spam.
4) Do SEO (Check out the SEO section of this forum and ask your doubts, I would be clearing off there)
5) Write quality contents. Write appealing contents that is being loved by people (This is the big magic)
Thats it and see your traffic grow like any thing....

Your blog is really nice and clean looking.
One really great way to get traffic to your blog is to take a keyword phrase as Angie suggested and follow her advice on the blog post and then turn right around and use the exact same keywords to write an article.
You can write your article very similar to your blog - just change a few words around and keep it at about 350 - 400 words, then have a link back to your blog in the bio part of the article.
Here are a few free article directories that I like to use:

ideamarketers.com
Keep adding a post every day to your blog, but keep them short and then write a new post with another keyword phrase that people can use to find you.
Sometimes a great way to learn about all this is to do a google search yourself for a certain phrase - I just googled the phrase ' spinal cord injury living' [i][/i]and the very first site on google is a website with a message board... so you can go in and register in the board, then post in there and chat with others, and possibly leave a link to your blog... free traffic.

ALl these ideas are good..
I have also had good results with Classified ads, ezine, articles, blogs, facebook, and more..
I also do a lot of offline marketing that i find works well.
Flyers, carmagnets, signs

Since you are with Wordpress your blog is pinged automatically everytime you make an update. Once you log in you can scroll to the bottom of the page and make sure the box for pinging after every update is checked.
If you use all the suggestions that are mentioned here then you will see traffic to your designated areas.

The best way and fastest way is paying to google adwords.
I am not saying big investment, you can invest as less as you want
whatever amount you are paying for will be advertised same amount
value on google.!
I personally spend $100 per month to google adwords.
It is of course 100% work as long as you can afford Investment!!

Submit your blog RSS feed to feedage.com and feedest.com - they are powerful. Also, Write a couple ads with a link to your blog at 3stepAds.com - This site is also powerful.
Taking these steps will also help get your blog indexed at Google if it is not already indexed.
