Hi all. I'm a newbie to this site and just wanted to ask a few questions.. and give a little information.
You see, I'm a grown woman and right now I live with my parents. Things are rough, and my sister and I are trying to find ways of not only helping out our family, but also growing independant. We were thinking about signing up for the CSGprogram, but after looking here, I don't know if we should.
Are there any legitimate home based businesses that a few of you could point me to? Also, I'm looking at the SFI program. Does that one work or should I go for others?
Take into consideration that neither my sister nor I have a job right now. We only have one car, and my dad uses it for work, so finding work elsewhere is next to impossible right now.
Please help.
Thanks.

Lainey86,
I don't know anything about the programs you mentioned.
There are plenty of legitimate home based businesses that you could start. It all depends on what you are looking for and what you are expecting.
My first advice would be keep researching the different businesses you see on this forum, check some signature lines and see if anything interests you. Then when you find something that interests you actually call or e-mail a person or persons and find out exactly what is working and what is not. You can tell a lot by talking to a person.
Just remember success will not happen overnight. You do need to consistently work at whatever business or program you decide to participate in.

I am not sure either what the SFI is all about - what I do mostly is affiliate marketing and that costs next to nothing to get started in so you might want to give that a shot...
Remember that there is no 'get rich overnight' deals - things just don't work that way so I agree with Becky - search around and if you have questions please feel free to ask.

Quite frankly, I am unaware of the programs you've mentioned. There are definitely legitimate programs out there. You simply need to do your due diligence before you join a program. Learn from my mistakes and avoid any "get rich quick" schemes as they will drain your wallet. Keep in mind that there is no shortcut to success. You will need to work for it and you will be rewarded with financial independence.

Like others have already said, plan to invest a lot of time into whaterver you decide to do. Being that I am a complete beginner, I chose to go with affiliate marketing. It definitely takes a lot of work but I have learned so much about internet marketing that it will help me once I move on.

First of all Lainey 86, you are doing the right thing by asking around. I sounds like most of the post here know what they are talking about. One time or another i think that most of us that try starting a home based business have been scamed, and just like us, that is the last thing you need to have happen to u right now. I know where your coming from. I did the same thing as you did. Hunted around. I looked at dozens of internet businesses' befor i made my choice.
What help me in this was the reviews i found on it. I could not find a bad review. The same as what cmw6300 said. Im new and just learning about affitiate marketing. You will not make a ton of money your first month, so don't fall for one of the scams out there that say you will.
So please do not take my word for it. you don't know me, but you are trusting me to tell you the truth. Reserch, Reserch, Reserch is key. When you find a business out there with very little or not bad reviews...keep looking. then if you cant find anything go back to that one and check it out some more. Do not make this a hasty decision.
Good luck in you hunt for the right biz for you

Honestly, I would recommend any newcomer to look into affiliate marketing before anything else. Maybe I'm just too jaded and don't like the idea of signing up to some company. Maybe I'm just too stubborn and would rather do things my own way, lol. But I know that affiliate marketing works if done correctly.
If you're interested, you should check out SiteBuildIt (omg, I keep recommending them, I really should become an affiliate of theirs, lol.)
