I am looking over the marketplace and randomly checking many products on google with "product name scam". It seems like ALL of the products are scams! It this true? If so, how does CB stay in business where all it's business is coming from scams? Just wondering...

There are a lot of GREAT Clickbank products. However, IMHO, I think that some products in the "Money And Employment" section need to go - such as paid surveys since their claims are so obsurd. I'm also not too terribly impressed with the "how to run your car on water" type products. However, Clickbank ebooks like "Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle" and many others are very high quality.

Hi Whocares,

In answer to your question - most products on CB are scams.

It's best to look into products with relatively low return rates. It's important to actually purchase and try out a CB product before you recommend it for two reasons:

1. You're putting your reputation on the line.

2. It will show in your writing if you have actually tried the product and like it.

That said, there are quite a few decent products there, too bad they are a minority percentage.

It's worth trying. Lots of people make a good living just on CB products alone. The commission percentages tend to be extremely high.

Don't worry too much about seeing "scam" sites on products. Often times it's a marketing trick to get folks to visit a site (a play on emotions - fear of being ripped off). With many of the sites - once you get there - you'll see that the author is actually not only in favor of the product, but is promoting it.

They just use "scam" in the title and/or url to draw traffic.

Personally I feel that it is a bit too deceptive to use, but many use it that way. Never mind me, I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to transparency

Go ahead and follow the links that say scam and see how many are actually in favor of the product I think you'll be surprised if you aren't familiar with that method of marketing.

CB and many who use the network - product owners and affiliates - do quite well.

It often pays to check things out first hand.

Newbie Shield, thanks for the tips. When I first started in CB, I went for the online surveys. I actually paid for 10 sites and tried to fill out surveys. I didn't like it because it was A LOT of work and the money was not so good, to say the least. I decided to promote it since I think that online surveys can work for a certain type of people. The site is telling people what they are REALLY paying for and let them decided if they want to pay based on the REAL deal and not based on ridiculous claims to make hundreds of dollars a day.

Then I went with the diet idea thinking, hell, we all need a diet at some point...

I am gonna keep looking for more products to promote

Hi Whocares,

Surveys are a lot of work for very little pay. I prefer something that pays over and over plus grows. That's why I like creating my own sites and continue to add content.

On CB, look for eBooks, software, and programs. They pay high commissions and seem to sell quite well.

Good luck,

Great topic and I agree with the answers given - I have seen a few products on clickbank that I would have a hard time promoting but for the most part, I believe they are for real. I know the One Week Marketing Plan is...

I live - eat and breathe that plan plus Squidoo and Blogging!

mountainmom5, I thin that "a few" is an understatement... most products up there are basically worthless, IMHO.

At this point and since that is the case, I suggest that you create and promote your own eBook.

You can view a few discussions right here on our forum:

You can also Google it with "create eBook", "convert to PDF", "upload eBook", etc - what ever you need to know.

Let us know if you get stuck.
