Hi everyone
Just wanted to know if I could get some advise on what path I should take based on imformation I provide about myself. Please be honest and blunt, I can take it.
This is me.
(1)I have no time! work, home, ect. The only time I get on the net is when its raining outside, or I need to find parts for a project in the shop.
(2)was always told there was no birds nest on the ground. Didnt listen. Bought several desprate messure get rich quik scams.
lottery,stuffing envelopes, you name it I wasted it "my money"
(3)Spend most of my time trying to please everyone, even when I dont want to or need to. Thats sounds bad I know, but some people use you cause you let them.
Any way Ive ran myself down enough. So what do you think, should I continue to make someone else rich or try and find my on way to make me money. I would love to find a oppertunity that doent need me, to do much of anything " considering my lack of time" does something like that exsist?? Do tell.
If I need to provide more about me please ask. And please dont think Im lazy, I work on average 10 hr days on my real job, and work in my shop usealy up to 9 pm every night. Just have never been much of a house mouse, and love to work on things with my hands.
Sorry if this has boered you to tear, and thanks in advance for any thoughts you have as to a idea or choice I could look into.

Hi DBS,
Not having enough time is a problem for most folks. If you want to break into the online marketing biz, you'll have to make time all the same. I feel for you.
Study hard is the first bit of advice. Learn what is involved and then drill down into each main category.
Know what you're doing first and then try out a few things. Tweak. Keep learning. Keep experimenting.
In your case, learn to say no or at least "let me think about it and get back to you" before you find yourself saying yes to every request.
Be reasonably assertive and make your own foundation solid so that you are in a healthy position to help others without it being at your expense. It gets easier over time if you put forth the effort.
Keep your job until your online income is consistently high enough to support you and/or your family. Then consider quitting your job. I've seen too many folks quit their jobs way too early and fall on their faces as a result. Don't let that be you.
This stuff takes time and effort. Don't rush it or you'll pay the price.
After you've learned the basics, you might want to write about outdoors topics since that seems to be your interest. Make it something you really enjoy. Folks will be able to tell if you know your stuff.
Relax about it and enjoy the learning process. Let it take as long as it takes. Don't try to run before you can walk.

I would advise you to keep your day job as it is the only income that you have now.
After that you must know what you want to do to make money online. Based on what I heard from you, you don't have any strategy yet. Please correct me if I'm wrong here.
So you must sit down and ask yourself, what you have learned from all the scam programs you joined, your past experience in online business and of course what you usually do online. You must figure out your plan to make money online.
Once you know it, then you must compile a plan and tasks that you must accomplish. Then only make a schedule, according to your working time to do all the tasks. Yes, you might be slow compare to others because you don't have time. But if you keep working according to your plan, you will succeed.

First of all if you have a dream of working at home or having a home business, DO NOT GIVE UP! I am speaking from experience. I almost gave up after losing a lot of money to different things. Part of it was I didn't do my due diligence, acted too quickly or was just looking for the wrong thing.
I almost gave up. But I just couldn't do it, I knew others were having success at home and I wanted it to. I started with self development. Go to danijohnson.com and listen to her business calls. That is what got me where I am today.
I know I have a chance of quitting my J-O-B within six months from now with what I learned and since then have found what is working for me.
So don't give up, do some self development and you will find what it is you are looking for.

I can certainly sympathize with your situation. I, too, use to work almost 10 hours a day making someone else's life better while making my own miserable!
You gotten some great advice here. I would also recommend that you keep your j.o.b. - for now anyway.
You need a plan. You must decide what it is you want to do. Something that you will stick with when you feel like quiting. Don't worry about the money you have lost. We have all been there. I really think it is part of the "learning" process. I don't know too many people who have awesome success there 1st time out of the gate!
Regarding your time, I will challenge you a little here. You DO have the time. You have just not put enough value on building a business. We all have the same amount of time each day. There is no changing that. You mentioned you enjoy working in your shop. So, right now, that has more value to you than building a business.
I'm sure it is a stress relief and something that brings you enjoyment. I'm suggesting you give that up, but just wanted to point out that we all have extra time. Even if you only have 30 minutes a day...that is something! Persistance IMO is the key in this business. Small, consistent efforts do pay off!
So in a nutshell, figure out what business you want to do. Spend 30 minutes a day researching businesses that are of interest to you without making any decisions. Once you have narrowed it down, talk to people! Don't sign up with something without speaking with your sponsor. You need to know who you will be working with. Once you find the right fit, go for it. Commit. Persist. Plant seeds. Once you develop a steady income stream, perhaps you could revisit leaving your j.o.b. or at least going P/T.

You guys are great, and thanks for all the comments. I will from this point try and devote an hour a day t reading through the forums.
So were should I start my education? I know I enjoy working on 4 wheelers, building things whith metal. My biggest down fall I think will be that Im not a salesman. I cant deal with people over money.

Hi DBS,
Many very good pieces of advice to you so far. In your first post you wanted to know if there was an opportunity that doesn't need you to do much of anything.  Well.... ...no. Not unless you have plenty of money to shell out either in advertising or outsourcing. I suspect that isn't the case with you.
Like the others have mentioned, keep your job, but start taking steps to build an income from home, too. If you have an hour a day - that's great. Use it specifically to build your business. You are using it in the forums for now, which is fine. BUT, once you decide exactly what route you are going to take for a business model, stay out of the forums and every other place that 'wastes' your time and work on building that business.
My suggestion would be for you to build a website about 4 wheelers. Buying them, reviewing them, fixing them, modifying them, safety rules, etc, Anything that has to do with them. If you are particularly knowledgeable about a certain brand, you may want to even narrow it down further. (You'll know better when you run the numbers - keyword research)
How will you make money doing this? Many ways. You can earn money by placing Adsense on your site, by joining affiliate programs that sell 4 wheelers, parts, books, and whatever else is related to the topic. With affiliate sales, you don't have to deal with people over money.
You just talk about what you know and love - 4 wheelers - and casually point people to the places to buy whatever it is they are searching for and earn a commission on any sales generated.
You can eventually make a DVD (or even a series of them) on repairing 4 wheelers. It doesn't have to be 'professionally' made, just thoroughly showing the process. Believe it or not, you can sell them for $19.95 or $24.95 and it would only cost you about $2 each (including shipping). Very high profit margins.
There's a lot you can do with a niche topic website. BUT, you have to take it one baby step at a time. Where should you start your education? I'd say (from personal experience) start with SiteBuildIt (SBI). The learning curve is dramatically reduced using their package and layout.
If you start at Day 1 of their Action Guide and take each step in the process as you are able to squeeze out the time, you'll always know where you left off, and exactly what to do next. You'll have a clear plan to follow and you will definitely have a solid business in the end if you stick with it.
I followed that same path, with a desire to just make even $100 extra per month for "extra's." It was slow going to build my first site and learn the ropes, but I just ignored everything else and focused my free time on that one thing. Now I make many times more than that each month, with very little continued effort on that site. I've started a couple of others to repeat the process.

If you're actually looking for a change in lifestyle and are willing to work hard to get it, then working online is probably a very good idea. Get-rich-quick schemes that you may have come across are always scams -- as you say, there's no easy way to make money without working. But once you get things rolling, I think you'll be very satisfied -- it'll likely take a few months, but once your business is set up it really will run on its own. There are lots of opportunities for working online, and if you work hard enough you'll find something that can make you money.
I'd suggest doing some online research and determining which program you'd most like to use. Most of these programs offer information that isn't particularly rare -- what you're looking for is a program that offers enough guidance to help you get off the ground. My personal favorite is My Online Income System; regardless of which you ultimately choose, be sure to do your homework so you don't end up wasting any money.

Lots of good advice on here but let me ask you....do you have any passion for sitting in front of the computer? From what you've said it sounds like your more of hands on type of guy. I have a cousin who loves working on cars, he's a mechanic by trade, but has always worked for someone else's shop. He asked me what he could do to make money doing what he does. I told him check craig's list and now he has his own shop Why don't you try to hit your local market on craig's list that are looking for repairs. After that maybe start your own blog or squidoo page and try to localize your repair work.
If you're interested in doing something online then happywife has hit the nail on the head. Just some quick searches on ATV repair manual, how do I fix my ATV clutch, etc, etc, puts your competition at about 300k pages, which is not bad at all. If you now of specific problems with certain ATV's or 4wheelers then you can create guides for those specifically.
If you need more advice seriously start in this forum.

I think for now you should just keep your day job - when you have more time, you can explore different work from home opportunities. The reason I say that is that if you are looking for "quick and easy" money, you aren't going to find it, as making money in anything takes time and effort.

First and foremost "In order for things to change YOU have to change!" There will NEVER be the perfect time to quit your job and start a business. There will always be something or some challenge that presents its self creating an excuse not to do it.
Zig Ziglar says: You don't have to be great to start... But you do HAVE to start to be great!"
A good rule of thumb:
No one should quit their job until they are earning 2X their paycheck!
I highly recommend spending about 15 minutes a day reading or listening to some motivational/ personal development that will help you develop a winners mentality. Right now you are so run down and being hard on yourself! You are a winner we all are you just have to draw it out of you. A famous author once said something that left a lasting impression on me

Do you believe the choice is yours?
Do you believe that any choice has an end result?
Make some decisions Right now that will benefit you NOW and down the road!
I understand that you don't have a lot of time and you are a hands on type of guy~ I can certainly relate to that. I know of a lot of people wo were strapped for time. But because they had a good work ethic they were able to fit in a few extra hours each week, replace their income and now have complete control of their schedule. I am one of them! Prior to getting started in business for myself we were strapped for time and money. We were working a ton of hours and it just wasn't getting us ahead! The harder we worked the further we got behind. Since getting started we made an incredible income right away, our organization is the fastest growing in the company, we are all receiving weekly checks, earned free trips, and have hit TOP promotional levels in the company.
At your current job, how long will it take you working a few extra hours each week to be able to travel, golf, fish, work on cars for fun, spend more time with family whatever it is that you are needing more time and money for?
Never mind that question we already confirmed you have no extra hours!
Let me rephrase!
At your current job, doing what you are doing working the hours you are working how long will it be before you can retire?
Write some goals down: Why do you need more time and money? How much?
How soon do you need it? What are you willing to do to get it? What sacrifices can you make to achieve it?
I believe that setting goals is one of the most important steps you must take soo that you can achieve some kind of greatness in your life. Setting goals properly will definitely increase your success rate. Did you know that only 5% of the people in this world set their goals, write them down and succeed? The other 95% refuse to set goals and they fail! It's as simple as that!
