I was just wondering if most people actually do just work at home or do these things for extra money? If you do only work at home were you at home to begin with or by doing this did you quit a job? I'm just curious to here if there are people that have actually left there 9 to 5 jobs by doing this.

I'm running 2 business, both online and offline. My office hour is 10am - 6pm. Other time will be my working hour for online business.
I quite enjoy this kind of life.

I had actually brought my hubby home from his job at one point and we were both home for a year and then things slowed down for us online so we switched gears a bit.
We are doing both right now - at home and away from home but are gradually picking back up in the online arena again...so eventually we will be able to both be home again.

Well I never had a offline steady job. I realized that life wasnt for me but I know what good money is. And I know I never have to work under anybody if I dont want to. Sometimes I get bored.....until I check my inbox.

I work at home as a medical transcriptionist and then after that work is done I have an online business. I am totally "burned out" by medical transcription and I am working towards quitting that for good in about six months.
It has been nice to work at home doing the medical transcription and not having to pay daycare for three children, but it still is trading dollars for hours as I don't get paid a dime unless I am sitting at the computer all day typing (yuk!)
So I am working on having residual income so I can play, vacation, have fun, and still get paid.

You will be hard pressed to find any work at home job but you can definitely build an online business. It requires work though!

I'm still a student, so this is my only job. I had the option between this and working at a fast food restaurant -- the choice was pretty easy . I'm still working on getting things really rolling but so far I've made tons of progress and am really happy with how the whole online business thing is going.

Sig "See how I make hundreds of dollars a day!"
I should hope that your "really happy" since you claim to make hundreds dollars a day in your sig.
Apparently you are making six figures. Is that true? It must be part time since you are so busy with your studies at school. Impress us with the details if it isn't too much trouble.

I actually quit my B&M job to work at home. I have my own call center and contract my services through Arise. I have one client right now and work about 15-20 hrs a week and average about $1200 a month. I could work more hours if I wanted. I will start training on another client next week and plan on working full time between the 2 clients since my hubby just got laid off from work.
I am also learning about affiliate marketing through WA to make extra money online. I know that will take time before I start earning money. But if you are not making money from home yet, I highly suggest you keep your day job first.

Hey, I'm new to this forum but I think I might have an answer for you. There are many work at home opportunities on the web. Some of them are part time businesses while others can be worked into full time stay at home jobs. Like any thing that is worth having a work from home job is only as good as the time and effort you put into it. A general rule of thumb is that if the opportunity offers instant riches for no work it is probably a scam. I suppose we have to change our mindset from the traditional 9 to 5 grind and turn to alternative methods of making a living. That's what online money making opportunities are really all about. Making money in a truly different way. I hope this helps and you find what you are looking for. If your goal is to quit your job and work solely from home then by all means go after your dream. Have a great day!!

I have 3 small children and decided that i wanted to try and make some money online working from home. With the help of my hubby we managed to start making some serious money and saw it could be done. Unfortunatly my hubby seems better at this then me and i have managed to persuide him to quit his job after christmas and go solo from home full time. I have a back up plan however just incase all is not well in a couple of months and i can go out and earn money to pay our bills. I think the thing is you have to believe it can be done for it to work. Best of luck to for whatever you decide.

I am married with one child and I am working from home full time with my own website business but have only been doing this for only 6 months. I searched for 2 whole years and paid out money to this scam and that scam just to "find out more information", you know how it is. i believe one of the only ways to be making money on the internet is to have your own website business. that way all your money coming in is actually yours not somebody else's. there's no such thing as "plug in and watch the money roll in". working from home is actually work, though extremely enjoyable.
