I have been promoting my affiliate website for 6 months without making any money. I have concluded that the system requires too much work for my prospects to consider joining. I have put the work in but too many online seekers do not have the time and are looking for a simple online business that works. What system out there actually works? I am not after millions, just an income to pay the mortgage and bills.

Hello David, what kind of work are you referring to that your prospects go through? Usually the ones that have some effort are the ones that have no registration fee.

The ones that do have less work for prospects to do, but more convincing power needed to let them spend money for the upfront fee or cash gift or anything like that.

I am more comfortable with opportunities that are free to join. If it's too much work for my prospects, I disregard them, after all I'm looking for prospects not for the sake of my own personal gain, but prospects who are willing to be successful and help others.

Having that mindset helps alot.

But going back to what your looking for, you really have the balance between "upfront cost to join" and "free to join with going through a step by step process".

Hope this helps and I know other people can give you something more specific to cater your needs.

Hi David,

I don't know that anything is truly simple, in the sense that I think you mean. I always call SBI 'simple' but not 'easy,' because of their ability to simplify the entire site building/business building process.

Maybe you should consider building a business that doesn't require you to get other people to 'sign up' or 'join.' Have you considered the idea of building a website business based on something you already know about and enjoy?

You can take what you know about affiliate marketing and build a niche topic website about that subject rather than the subject of affiliate marketing. You can DO affiliate marketing rather than SELL THE IDEA of affiliate marketing. (I know you are doing affiliate marketing in the selling of affiliate marketing, but I think you probably know what I mean).

With your own niche site, you can not only incorporate affiliate marketing, but earn money from Adsense, maybe create your own e-book on some area of the niche and sell it from your site and get affiliates of your own.

In that way, you aren't really dependent on 'recruiting' people to a program to make money. You'll be making money almost casually from a variety of sources.

It still takes time and effort, but you always know you are making progress.

Well, I like it anyway. It's exactly the kind of thing I was looking for and am so thankful I 'discovered.' Just call me Christopher Columbus!

Blessings,
Angie

The length of time one spends promoting a website should not be the only barometer used to determine failure or success. Your conclusion implies that you've done everything possible to attract business, and since you haven't made any money, it must be because prospects are lazy and are looking for an easy way out.

In my opinion, the length of time spent promoting should be viewed as secondary to the quality of time spent promoting. There is no uniform schedule that says, "Do this for this much time and you'll get these results." Prospects only respond when you connect with them, and that will be the signal that you are doing things right.

When you are connecting, it means that...

- your promotions are compelling
- you are advertising in the right places
- you are targeting the right groups
- your choices of media are excellent
- your website is converting

If that is not your experience at the moment, then you might want to go back to the drawing board and reaccess your marketing and promotional strategies.

See, the success formula is cold, objective, pragmatic and unforgiving. Either you get it right or you don't. But each marketer has to "discover" the right formula for his or her particular product, market and objectives. In that sense it's a personal thing, and how long that takes is really up to the individual!

yes...I agree what A8ch says.6month is not long I spend 8month time to learn and start earning. In fact,I don't believe easy money.
I make a lot of mistake and I keep try again and again.Look at my clickbank now I make more than 20 sales. When I make sales I know I'm doing the right things. Now I'm doing the same things to maintain my profit.

What A8ch really said was spot on . Though even if you knock down the 5 things listed there correct, you need to make sure too that after they are captivated, they need to stay with you by means of supporting that person and making him/her feel home and help them market the same way you do.

You have gotten some great advice here, David, and remember that no matter whether you have made loads of money or none in any particular venture - it is a learning experience.

Think of all the light bulbs that got blown up before electricity was invented - all the frustrations and challenges they went thru.... but they learned something new every time it didn't work.

You will find that there are successful people in almost anything out there - regardless what marketing method is being used, or what comp plan is in place...

The important thing is to find out what works for you and your situation.

Cheers - and keep marching on!
Viola

It takes some people years to make consistent money online don't give up now and waste all that work. Build on what you've learned, be opened minded (not foolish) look for other opportunities and keep going forward.
