Like so many of you I work from home every day and often I find it hard to accomplish anything. Either things get crazy around the house or I have to run erands.

I have started prioritizing myself and I noticed I am getting much more done. Here is what I do:

1. I get up really early in the morning before anyone else and get the main things done that I need to.

2. I take breaks from home-work durring the day and do my online work then.

3. I know when to quit. I don't work myself too hard every day to the point that I get sick of getting online.

4. I allow time for my work to work. I don't expect results over-night so when my paycheck is lower I don't get too upset.

Thats really all I do now but I notice my productivity has gone way up and my stress way down. Good luck all!

Thanks Jennyo - I needed that reminder!

I have been online for about an hour this morning and am thinking I might grab a quick snooze before I get everyone else up - lol

I agree, knowing when to quit is very important. Sometimes i could spend a couple of hours working online without realising what time it is. This dosnt make sense when the paycheck isnt as big as you want it to be at the end of the month.

Oh My Goodness! I agree with Karma and Mountainmom5 totally. I feel like I've been staring at the computer for a full 8 hour day and I know I haven't. I have a fulltime job but when I do my part-time online job it doesn't feel the same. I do feel like I want to go rest whenever like it's not the same kind of 'job'. Really, right now it isn't bringing in the money yet. So maybe that's why I don't take it as seriously.

The thing I have to concentrate on is doing the things that actually help me to earn in my business.

It is too easy to get distracted with reading articles, checking e-mail endless times and doing other "busy" tasks that aren't really helping me to get further in my business.

I have to really try to stay on track and do the things that really count and increase my production.

I see now why they call it "getting de-railed!"

Those are some really great tips!
I think anytime you are trying to work with your children around there are going to be moments that arise that throw your schedule/plans out of whack and cause you to have to move things around or juggle your time some. I know there have been times that I feel frustrated because I have a plan for the day and it just didn't work the way I envisioned it would. I was then left feeling like my day was not productive, but as I think of all the things I did do, I realize I did a lot; it just may not have been what I had planned out. I have realized that as much as I plan, working a part time job that can send me half way across the state the next day with little warning, having three kids, three dogs, a home, husband, and working at two online home businesses... I am just not going to be 100% successful at planning out every day. I still plan, but I now do not let the things that come up bother me as bad. I deal with them and get back to my plan as best I can.

A schedule can help. Put it in front of where you work and include times. i.e. 6-630 walking, 6.30-7 email and breakfast, 7-9 edit ads and articles....

Also put a time value on your hour i.e. $40/hr You are less like to waste time when you add it up and have just lost $80!

Do your planning last thing so you are ready to go the next day. make yourself accountable to someone-we all need a boss-You thought you had escaped one huh?!

Backward plan....go forward to where you want to be and vividly imagine all the details of your perfect life/job/income and fill in all the details to get there. Then break it down to bite size chucks.

Get a coach or advisor-paying for the sessions makes you work harder and you won't want to disappoint them.

Have a support group that has similiar goals.

Don't give up!

My 2c...
