Hi! OK, I just signed up with the Reverse Funnel System to promote the Global Resorts Network. I've been reading a lot about branding, about using youtube, and blogs.... and I get that, and am planning my attack on those fronts. :-D but I don't know how to get started! I'm more than willing to blog once I start making money and have something to talk about, but right now, I haven't gotten any leads or sales, so ... what would I tell people? How can I start getting traffic? I'm trying out Google Adwords to start... any suggestions? Thank you!

Oh, fun... I don't know much about reverse funnel, but hey, your excitement and enthusiasm is what people will feel right now!
Do you have business cards to hand out? Get them for free at vistaprint... Also make your link clickable in your signature here so that folks can click and see what you are doing...
Do you have a lead budget? Do you have training on working leads? The best leads in the world will do you no good if you don't have any training on how to work them...
I always encourage people to get some leads from somewhere so they can get used to talking to people about their business (without being a pushy telemarketer -lol)
If you want some ideas on lead places, send me a pm.... But I would definitely work leads as you build up your traffic with other methods...

Find a decent script(maybe dani johnson) and start with leads to get traffic and experience. But once that is set up, Immediately start youtube and blogs. You already have a story! What is the reason you joined the GRN business? What are you looking to acheive? Your Goals? Tips on what you have learned so far. You've got PLENTY to start talking about... and it doesnt have to be perfect. People like to know you are a real person, so have fun with it.
Casual without Sloppy- Professional without Sutffy=)

i just started it yesterday so there's not much there! but i want a page with more personality, and something that looks better than the main page for the Reverse Funnel System.
Can anyone tell me why so many websites selling ebooks or opportunities look like the html was made either in 1995, or by third graders? it's embarrassing to point people to those kind of pages. presumably the people making the pages are making thousands a month - but they can't spend a little on web design?

You are right by having a personal page, so people can see some about you before they see the Reverse Funnel System. I have a blog, but I'm working on one also.
About your question on webdesign... the reason people dont have big fancy smancy websites are because they want the person landing on their site, to stay focused and not get distracted looking at all the pictures or flash. "Simple" also screams "Easy", which is a question Everyone will ask themselves before getting started, "Can I do it?". Now, I am all for looking *nice*, but just keep it simple and easy to navigate.

well i don't even know how to make pages the way they make them. there must be some sort of 'cheap website' software or program out there i guess. :-P i like simplicity and nice looking sites, it tells me you're professional, you know? i mean, my jewelry page: http://www.eden-bijoux.com, my acting page http://www.kendalbrenneman.com, and my mmm other page, http://www.ozville.org are all simple, no flash, easy to navigate (i think), but compared to sites I made before, they look professional, and like I really care about what I'm doing, like I'm serious. you know? and i definitely want to be taken seriously! anyway, that's just one of my peeves. :-P
i ordered some business cards for my girlwithapearl website, from vistaprint. unfortunately i couldn't get an extra 20% off - i am away from home and i have a little coupon from my last order! doh. oh well. always ordering more from them.

Hi Kendal,
you look like you have a very interesting life. lol I think you are on the right track with your blog. PayPerClick is probably NOT the way to go unless you have about $1,000 a month to spend on it. The sad thing about adwords is lots of people in your own company will click your ad and that will cost you big time with adwords. Some of the lesser knowns of PPC like MSN Adcenter might be worth some effort but the traffic is much less. I think the Myspace revolution and personal branding with video (web 2.0) is the way to go. Also, keep in mind that GRN is a product you can sell retail very easily. Put an ad in the local paper or a car magnet on your car. Heck, put a T-shirt on your cat and let people know they can save money on travel with Kendal and GRN!
Oh....can you elaborate on OZMA a little? I gotta hear about her! lol

good ideas, thank you. and yes, i'm glad we have a product that pretty much everyone can make use of! would you suggest setting up another web domain that forwards to the global resorts network page (since they all have your affiliate name on the end, and if i put that on a bumper sticker or something, they'd probably just leave that part off anyway)? i suppose so...
lol. i shouldn't type when i'm distracted, this takes a while (watching Narnia, after seeing the second one in the theater today).
yeah, my life is interesting. very unfocused. hehe.
Ozma... well, ozville was named in memory of my boyfriend's daughter. she had ozville as her 'hometown' on her myspace profile. and you know, most domains are taken, so i ended up using that. Ozma, in the Wizard of Oz books, was princess of Oz, so I've just decided to use that instead of my real name when I feel like being more anonymous.

ok, question - when i have my domain redirect to my affiliate page, adwords won't accept it. no wonder i've gotten no impressions! so right now i have my page with a 'click to continue' thing on it to get to my affiliate page. but what do you guys do? i dont' know if adwords will accept that either. any suggestions?

Try using another PPC company. I know that isn't what you want to hear but adwords can be a pain and they are, by far, the most expensive. Try yahoo search marketing and msn adcenter. Miva.com is pretty cheap too but the quality of visitor won't be as good as the others.
You can still use adwords, too. Just don't use a domain. Use your actual referal URL address. It stinks but Google is the big boy on the block and they can do whatever they want. There might be a techie way to make it work but I don't know what it is. If anyone does please share with us.

Wow I can't believe the summer is here. I just got back from a week vacation in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. I stayed at an all inclusive resort that was 5 star called the Paradisus. I would recommend it to anyone. The beautiful thing about working from home for the past five years is the fact I can go anywhere I want when I want for as long as I want. Plus while away I made $3,000 in sales with no effort of my own!

Is your problem that you don't have any leads? Well get some! MLMLeadGenie dot com has great leads. Get something going, get the word out there and start building your business that way so you can get momentum going.
We recommend leads to start up, but once you're past the first stages I teach my Global Dream Team members to generate their own leads. That is by far the easiest way to make money because you're getting a very responsive lead and a very possible sale.

Yes buying leads only makes the lead brokers rich. It is a waste of time as you have no idea where those leads are coming from and what they saw. Heck they might have been sold many times over no matter what anyone says. The ONLY way to be successful is to create your own leads.
I dont care if you market online, offline. local, guerilla, JVs, voice blasting etc. Become a master at creating your own leads and you will have the rewards your looking for. My personal favorites are voice blasting and JV"s with travel pros to explode sales in GRN.
But now that voice blasting is so cheap I recommend it to anyone.

Well I'd have to say that some leads are really good, but expect to pay premium for them. You can also get exclusive leads and you'd be the only person to get them. MLM Lead Genie lets you see the ad that the leads view when they opt in.
That said, generating your own leads is still the best way to go.

Matt,
I see you reccomend MLMLeadGenie leads for GRN reps.
I am with a different Travel company and was searching for a good lead vendor. I did look at MLMLead Genie.
What are your thoughts? Which leads? I see they have Travel specific? Conversion into sales?
I'm not new to workikng leads just need to find a decent lead vendor.

Yea, we like their live transferred leads. They qualify the person and transfer you the call live. Expect to pay premium for those, but they're by far the best we've found so far.

I prefer to create my own live leads for GRN. I use Ibuzz Pro to voiceblast out to 1000's in a hour. I target timeshare list, timeshare salesman, travel agents, and realtors. I want people who have lists I can exploit for my business where I can leverage my time. With the cost of doing voice blasting so low these days this is the perfect way to have live leads calling you without having to go through a third party where the mark up is tremendous. But creating high quality on demand leads is the way to go no matter what sales business you are in.

Buying leads are ok to get some initial life blood into your system.
I would recommend that you get the redirected short form leads.
But again, the best leads are you specific leads.
Using web 2.0, blogging etc, you could generate your own leads.
I use this and show my partners. Personal branding is important for
'you' specific leads.

Hey Matt (Victorious), I browsed through your site and I really liked it. I'm looking to set up my own personalised and branded website. Can you or anyone recommend a good site to build one? Preferably one where building a site, that is adding content (ie text, pictures, videos, charts etc..) at will is very easy to do without having to be a computer programming wizz?

The summer is just flying by. I have really struck gold with Ibuzz Pro. Not only for creating leads for my main business GRN, but for allowing me a second income stream where the sale is so simple. People watch the webinar for Ibuzz Pro and they quickly understand that it is a tool that all successful sales pros must have. The past week I have been averaging a sale a day part time with this. When you tell people you can create leads on demand, that you have a free Do Not Call list scrubber, and there are over 15 million leads to call in the back office you have an amazing product. I have cut down my lead generation costs by 60% using this software. I can contact the masses, thousands of people in an hour if I want. The cost of actually making the calls is SO much cheaper than using voiceshot or vontoo. It really is amazing.
The other day I did a small blast to real estate agents about 300 of them. It cost me 6 bucks to broadcast. I have made 2 sales off of it, 1000 in profits, one guy just signed up without even speaking with him. It is crazy how simple it is. A one exposure and then close. Unlike other big ticket programs where it takes 4-6 exposures to close. Ibuzz Pro and the 500 dollar software costs is also the perfect feeder program for those that cannot afford the 2k-6k it costs to join many high ticket items. People get started here save up some money and then can join that big program.
For those that have no money Ibuzz Pro has what we call Plan B. If you have serious pre existing contacts that could use this software to create sales you can refer that person in and that will count as your buy in (you still have to pay the small corporate back office fee) but the 500 is waived. The only problem with coming in this way is you have no real website to market with ( people use mine, or you have to have people attend a live webinar), plus you lose that person for good. But it is possible if you have relationship capital.
Again in my five years working from home I have never seen a lead generation tool so simple and effective to use. Since everyone is any sales business whether it be mlm, networking, cash gifting, direct sales, real estate , insurance, mortgage , need this tool our marketplace is endless. Of course I love mentoring my new people as the compensation plan makes it worth my time to help them make sales. Again Ibuzz Pro is a must have tool, and now I am realizing a truly simple 6 figure a year cash flow oppty. Check out the webinar on demand page also, it has increased sales by 300%. Anyway, I think the best leads if you must buy leads, would be the redirected leads. They are redirected to your website.
But as it has been said the best leads are 'you' leads that you create yourself. The best ways would be Youtube, Blogging, articles, Myspace etc.
I am really seeing success with these methods.

Personally branded capture page.
Personal branding helps you stand out from the crowd and connect to your prospects. One part of personal branding is video.
There are a few programs that are very easy to use that allows you to put your own capture page together.
Although, I give my new partners their personally branded site when they start. They are able to pick a template from a library of templates. It is unique to you, once a template is chosen it is retired.
The site also comes with ad copy as well.

The Internet is overfilled with flashy websites and unrealistic promises, so people are really looking for a human being to walk them by the hand and to explain the details of a particular opportunity.

So, the question is, why does it happen? What is so attractive for the prospects in this weird way of presenting the product. Doesn't it look almost unprofessional?
In most cases it does, but that's the beauty of it!
Let's see what's going on in the brain of your potential client.
We all know about the comfort zone, that little castle that we all have inside of our heads, that little world that we create for ourselves, familiar, predictable and understandable. That is the tool that we use to fight the real world with all it's unpredictability and complexity. We want to be certain, we must be certain in order to be able to function and to be able to sleep at night. So we simplify the world to a little comics book that we call our comfort zone. We know everything and everybody in that book and we feel safe and secure inside of it.
So, all of a sudden, a salesperson comes along and starts knocking at the front gate of our little castle. What do we do? Of course, we freak out!
He is an outsider! We don't know him! He is out of our comfort zone and we feel uncomfortable with him!
Plus, he wants us to give him our money!
We are not dealing with him! That's the verdict!
So, if he is a beginner, he will just leave and we will re-establish our comfort inside of our castle.
But if he is a pro, he knows about our mental issues and he will try to play by our rules. What are they? There is only one rule: we are dealing exclusively with objects and characters from our little comics book.
So he will start playing mind games with us: he will start a drip campaign to increase the amount of times he appeared in our life in order to become more familiar; he will tell us that he understands what we need (and therefore he is not a complete stranger) and his product is going to satisfy our needs; he will give us the most beautiful sales pitch, that will create the need and will offer the solution as well; he will do anything in order to get inside of our little castle.
It will take a while, it will take a lot of effort, certain monetary infusion, time and knowledge. He might succeed, he might get killed by our guards before he reaches the outer wall of the castle.
And here is a completely different story: a guy from our comics book approaches us and offers the same product, but this time we know the guy, he looks familiar, he lives where we live, he eats the same food, wears same clothing, has erectile dysfunction, like we do and works at the same tractor factory. He is almost identical twin of ours and we feel like he is almost a family member. We have trust and understanding with him instantly and we are open to the idea of dealing with him and therefore buying from him.
That's why this technique is so effective! Your ability to establish instant rapport with the prospect is based on your similarities.
I personally have been using this approach marketing Global Resorts Network for a while and the results are nothing short from spectacular! And my story is not really interesting or impressive, but that's the beauty of it: it doesn't have to be!
It's not about your story being fascinating, quite the opposite, it's about your story being average and you being an average Joe.
My students often tell me: "I'm afraid it's not going to work in my case, I don't have anything interesting to say about myself, I don't have anything impressive about myself, I suck and I don't think my story can attract anybody!"
When I hear it I always remember the scene from "Keeping The Faith", when Ben Stiller explains to the kid from the church's choir: "That's the challenge God gave you! Embrace your suckyness!" And the scene ends with the kid singing: "I love that I suck! I love that I suck!"
You need to understand: it's not about your story being fascinating, it's about your prospect having the same story and being comfortable with you because of it.
I hate to shatter your ego, but you are not unique! There are hundreds and, probably, thousands of people in the world with almost identical story, almost identical circumstances and almost identical set of challenges. They will be glad to find you, they will feel extremely comfortable with you, you will be able to establish an instant rapport with them by just telling them about yourself and your life and what you do and what you have been through. Every word you say, no matter how lame you think it is, will be a one more possibility to find a match out there in the world for you. They will be an amazing group of people! You will enjoy communicating with them and you will feel like you've known them for years! They will be the most productive team members for you, you will have such a synergy going on that it will blow your competition away!
You all heard about what I consider one of the most effective communication tools known as "personality mirroring". Andy Bernard from "The Office" was one of the best practitioners of it and you can check it out in the episode called "Merger" if I'm not mistaken.
The basic idea is that you copy the person you communicate with: the posture, intonation, volume of their voice. They speak fast - you speak fast, they use a lot of hand gestures - you do the same, they cross legs - you follow.
What happens is - by copying them you are becoming more familiar and therefore less threatening. They feel more comfortable with you and more open to what you have to say. This technique works beautifully and yet not a lot of people use it because it looks to simple. Try it and you will see how effective it is.
Why am I mentioning it? Because Personal Branding and My Story Marketing is in essence a highly developed case of Personality Mirroring: you are almost like identical twins with your prospect, you do the same things, the same way, you have been through the same events and you are trying to achieve the same goals in life. And the beauty of it is - you don't even have to learn how to use this tool (like with the Personality Mirroring), it's already there, you mirror them already by just being who you are!
This all became possible because of the power of the Internet and, particularly, YouTube: now you can display yourself out there and eventually your matches will find you and attempt to contact you.
Talk about targeted traffic! No more cold calling and trying to convince people in things! Your conversion rate will shoot through the roof!
And this all will happen just because of your personal story! Any story will do!
I'm not going to make sweeping generalizations and tell you that this is the best tool and the only tool you should use. There are different people with different approaches on the market and they all have the right to exist.
If Johnny Bolton is good with talking to people on the phone and it works for him - great! If Ty Coughlin succeeds at attracting prospects with his tricks - beautiful!
I've found great success with Personal Branding and, if you are not using it, it is worth researching it and, possibly, incorporating it in your marketing. It all depends on what you feel comfortable with and what you are good at.
In my case, I can't say that I handle rejection very well (or in a very polite manner) to actually call my prospects, plus, being a foreigner with a thick Russian accent, you can figure how successful I was when I attempted to call leads in the beginning of my career.
Paid advertisement didn't appeal to me either just because of being faceless in most of the cases.
So, eventually, I learned about Personal Branding and it works for me just fine! Weirdly, most guys on my team are not foreigners, as I expected, but rather somebody with similar background, people who had been through different kinds of small business in the past and eventually recognized the beauty of the Internet marketing and joined me to promote Global Resorts Network. It proves one more time, that one shouldn't try to predict which part of your story will be the most attractive for your prospects, just be honest and personal with them and you will have more leads than you can handle!

I think personal branding is terrific, but it does take time to get going. There is a learning curve. I've found that most people get started quickly and profitably by "plugging into" a good sales system. Then as they get going and want to jump into personal branding, then it works great.
I personally use a sales system developed by my personal mentor. Then follow up with leads with a personal approach. They also learn more about my personal story and family through my blog.
The point is to help your team-members get up and going quickly. Once they see the success, and start making money, they can branch out from there. Hope this helps.
