RO,

I haven't begun working for them yet. I sent my papers out late last week, and from what I understand it takes about 5 business days to process, so I'm hoping to hear from them by Friday. The lady I spoke with was very nice and friendly, she said that they are very flexible except that at least 9 of your required 15 hours a week must be in the evening. That is so you'll have the most opportunity of reaching people at home. Honestly, I hadn't thought to take an outbound calling job, but it seems so very simple, and the newspaper offer is excellent. (It's so much easier to push something that you believe in.) Good luck and let me know how it goes for you.

bookwurmee,

Did the lady tell you that people have to sign up for us to get paid or how does the pay works?

RO,
Evidently each call gets coded according to how the call went. She said that the average that many people make for 15 hours is from $150 to $200. If that's true then I'll be very happy. She said it would take about a month at first to start seeing what your personal average is.

In addition to that, I found a forum with people who work for Verafast, and what I saw there is that you get paid .21 cents per credit. Each live call is at least one credit, so you do get paid something just for your call time even if the customer doesn't sign up for the paper. I don't yet know the details, though. It sounds like a good at home job. The advice on the forum was that as long as you spend your shift making calls (not up doing other things) you'll make good money. Also, evening and weekend hours are more successful because more people are home. When I hear from the company I'll send you my email address and let you know what I learn.

Hi, I'm trying to set up my password with West and can't seem to get it to work. It's my first time making a password and when I get to the screen that says it will open a new browser window, nothing happens. I don't have my pop-up blocker on or anything so I'm not sure what's up. Does anybody have any suggestions? I'd really appreciate any! Thanks

RO,

I heard from Verafast, I begin training on Wednesday. Have you heard anything from them yet? You can email me at bookwurmee at yahoo if you want more info. It still seems like a great opportunity.

Bookwrumee,

I had to postponed the paperwork need to get my social security card because I lost it...I will be doing that this week and mailing out the forms to verafast. How long did it take for them to contact you after you mailed out the forms? and how does the pay work?

Hi all,
I have been lurking around this site since February. All the comments have been extremely helpful. I have not heard anything from WEST but I have gotten 2 jobs. Verafast and WestAt. I completed my initial training with WestAt and now waiting on a project. I sent my paperwork back to Verafast and waiting for training. Although both of them are outbound, I figure it couldn't be too bad since you are selling anything. I also applied for Cloud10 and unfortunately they aren't hiring in my area. Thank you all for the info and may you all have continued success working at home. I am new to this and I hope all goes well.

RO,
It was exactly a week between when I sent the papers and when they contacted me. I did send the papers overnight to expedite the process. It's more expensive but it was worth it for me. I'm pretty excited about starting Wednesday. The pay does work on a credit basis, each type of call is assigned a certain credit. I'm still not sure exactly how this type of payment will turn out, but I'm excited to find out. They do pay every week, which is wonderful! Take care and I'll post back as I find out things.

I emailed it to them per their instructions on the screen. Be honest with you I did it a couple of times. Have you ever worked for LO's?
I applied sometime back and they sent me all the information but I never followed thru. I hear they are a better company than W T. I still have all the paper work, you do have to pay for the background check but that is only 35.00. Have you tried teletech. I went thru the interview phase but he did not have a position for me etc etc but he emailed me the other day just to make sure they have all my information and just letting me know he is still waiting on a project for me. I would just like a yes or no answer from these people. If everyone waited around for all these companies for when a project comes up we would all be in the Salvation Army food line. Oh well we just keep plugging away. I have noticed that the companies that offer work at home have waiting lists a mile long. Positions are getting a little scarce or of they do hire you you have to wait forever just to pick up a project. If the government would give the us companies and incentive maybe they would outsource more work here in the US then overseas. I called about my credit card statement lastnight because of an error I don't know where the call ended but I could not understand anything the lady was saying because her accent was so heavy I got frustrated and hung up and shredded the credit card. oh well sorry just ranting.

rosielopey,

Yeah i know what you mean waiting for a project to come your way is very frustrating! however, I'm not giving up until I FIND something solid lol..and your right these overseas job are taking ours! but I BELIEVE that what's happening is that we are going through a trend were more people want to work from home...hence, more competition for us! we are not just competing with unemployed locals we are being challenge nationwide! and that is sure a lot don't you think so, when i get a call is kind of comforting that they consider me for the job in the first place. so, if i have interviewed for many i will find the right one soon. Let's keep trying k to all keep a positive state of mind and GOOD LUCK~!

RO,
WestAt seems to be a good company to work for. I did my app the same day I applied for West. You have to call a toll free number and do a voice sample(read a couple of questions). They email you and tell you to expect a phone interview. A week later you have phone interview. I received a welcome email about 15 min. after interview. Training pay is at 8.25/hr. Initial training is 10 hrs. basic company overview. Now 2 weeks later, I get an email for my project training. Pay is weekly. I got paid for training (Direct Deposit is a must). I also received an email from Verafast to start training next week. I am extra excited to start working from home. Also with WestAt, the calls are outbound, all you do is conduct research surveys ask questions and move through the screen based on answers to previous questions. And with Verafast you call and ask people if they received the yellow pages and offer them free newspaper gift.

RO,

I just completed my first training shift with Verafast, and I loved it! Most of the people were very nice and it actually is pretty easy once you get in there and do it. Good luck!

RO,
You should check back or try to reapply with westat. They actually had an ad in careerbuilder last week. I hope I like it. I am talking about WestAt not WestAtHome. These are 2 different companies. I applied for WestAtHome and from what I read hear, they have a hiring freeze.

I have been reading the post and have learned a great deal. I am curious though, for those of you who work for Westathome, you mention being given a certain job. when I applied (several months ago) I was given a list of like 5 different jobs with the pay rate and a little info and you could only choose one to train for, after that, I guess they decided if you could train for another. Is that how it worked for all of you or does it just depend on who has openings at the time?

vagabond,

yes that is exactly how it works you are offered 1-5 skills and you need to choose one once you have completed that skill (training) and begin working then later on you will be offered other skills. but only one at a time. you are allowed to have as many skills as you want once they offered it to you. say you choose one this month then in 3months will be offer another one...and so forth. try to always choose the popular name such as toyrus, virgin mobile, etc...sometimes you will only get one skill offered like i just got proflowers and i took it because it pays good (seasonal) so it's a good idea to have on the side. good luck which skill do you have?

I have GE, accually I started with HSN, but had problems with the login and "click" program, I am not sure if it was my computer or their program, but after everything freezing up everyother time I logged in, I asked if I could switch to another skill and they gave me GE. I never went back to the HSN so they eventually droped me from it, I suppose I should have kept it because my husband works nights alot and the hours would have worked but I hated that stupid program and could never get too much help from tech support.

vagabond,

yes those skills requiring so much upselling is frustrating. How is Ge? do they pay well? is it under .18per min rate? I just got proflowers went back to West at home they offered it and i know that they are seasonal but is good to have on the side for those peaktimes. anyway curious about GE. I don't like DHL/DR DON'T pay well they went down to .15per min rate the lowest I've ever seen west skill pay. I RESIGNED from DHL/DR for same reason upsells/ little pay.
