HI EVERYONE! I NEED HELP FROM ANYONE OUT THERE. I HAVE BEEN TRAINING ON THE HSN SKILL AND FAILED A TEST AT THE END. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THAT SKILL WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO ME AGAIN? OR IF AND WHEN ANY OTHER SKILLS WILL BE OFFERED? I WAS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO WORKING WITH HSN. I DIDNT REALIZE THAT MY TRAINING TIME WAS ALMOST UP SO I RUSHED THROUGH THE TRAINING TO THE TEST I FAILED BOTH TIMES BY 1 ANSWER. I DID NOT TAKE IT WELL! ANY IDEAS OF SOMETHING TO HOLD ME OVER UNTIL NEW SKILLS ARE AVAILABLE? ANYTHING AT ALL WOULD HELP! THANKS!!!

I don't know when skill will be open to you again, but if you are looking for a job go to verafast they are hiring, and also you can go to parameds.com they are also hiring for retrieval records specialists. They pay per case but it is something till you can find something with west.

rosielopey, Interview went quite well but she said I'm a hold...means when a project becomes available they will introduce it to me. so, until then I'm still with west. I am on the same boat as you are in if hrs and pay better then I'll decide then. I told the interviewer I work for west she said as long as I SIGN an agreement and not be active with west throughout the project I'll be alright. so, I'll keep you posted. RO

ok I got a funny. Last night I took a call on a probe screen. Cust was calling for the cra*tm*tic bed. So I was taking the manual order and the cust was just talking and talking while I was getting his information. I told him he would receive his information in a few days when he told me he needs a bed like that, that can move into positions because his wife won't. Now I was taking a little sneak sip of my coffee and let me tell you I blew it across my computer screen. I laughed so hard it was a good thing another call did not come in because it took me a bit to get my composure back. I have to admit that DR can be fun at times because some of the customers can be real characters. Thought I would share

Hi! I am so glad I found this forum, It helps to talk to others dealing with the same issues as you. I have been with West since Dec 07, Thankfully I got invited to E*iq after only 3 30 min shifts spread out over 3 weeks with DR. I HATED it. The upsells are awful and I am not the kind of person that could "brush off" a bad call. I had always excelled in my previous career at a call center, promoted to management. I had been out of work for 3 years due to me wanting to be a SAHM and I came across West. I was so exited. I finished my training in less then 15 hours, I was pumped.... and then my first shift came, I was in tears. Had I not had another project offered to me, I would have not continued, but I know its only temp as it will end on or before 3/31/09 when the coupons are no longer available. This job is easy and gives you much more leeway with verbiage. I love helping customers in my own words. my only complaint is actually getting hours. This projects hours get taken soooo fast! I have to stalk the trades for hours in order to get a 30 min shift here or there.
Does anyone work EQE and has been able to pin point a timeframe of when they actually post shifts? I used to know Wed AM would post Thu-Sun but I haven't seen that in weeks. Any suggestions on how to get hours-- without spending hours refreshing my screen?
Thansk so much, and again, am so glad to have found this forum. I look forward to chatting with everyone.

Does anyone work for West in Pro-Flowers? Do you have problems knowing when schedules are posted and just kinda have to keep checking and when they do, its a major fight for shifts? also i was not aware that there would be weeks without work..it seems like this is only a here and there position..i enjoy Wests concepts and am hoping to be offered a different skill but i need 20 hours a week steady...

Tweb
I have not been offered VM. I have been offered GE home repair but I am declining it and hoping VM will be offered to me. It is strange that they are busy but not offering it. Hopefully it will become an option soon cuz DR is only paying 15 cents a minute. I have never seen it that low before.
Thanks

Hi everyone, I just finished my training for the skill "Schering Home Again" I passed all the tests and am now waiting on a webinar to be scheduled. Can anyone tell me what to expect with this? The PAL I talked to said I will need to follow the link in the email for the webinar. I was also wondering if anyone else is worried about starting work? I am so afraid I will get confused as there is so much to remember. I'm pretty sure I have already forgotten some of it.

ivnslady, Don't sweat it! believe me when you do the webinar it will come altogether you will see that as you start everything will fall into place. just take the call follow the script if any questions the pal is at your rescue... the webinar will be self explanatory and it will last up to 2hrs of instructions on how to use the software/ade desktop and the skill. LET me know how it goes k.. Ro

Hi Kim Did you try Verafast. I know for a fact that they are hiring. Also parameds.com. I know parameds is doing hiring right now so go to their website. If you hurry and put a resume in and email it to [email protected] you may get a chance to get in because they are doing interviews this week.

rsoler, Thanks for helping me out. I am still waiting for the webinar email. I guess since it is a group webinar they must be waiting for everyone to be done with the skill training. I was wondering if I will be on the phone with anyone while doing the webinar? I still need to get my desk ready and hook up my new phone and headset. I hope they don't wait too long, I would like to do this while the training is still fresh. Wish I could go back and review the material while waiting.

ivnslady, you will not to be on the phone so you can hear the instructor and ask questions...the headset is not necessary for the webinar but is helpful if you want your hands free. However, you should have headset for a soon as you begin working. RO

Hi! I've been a lurker here for quite a while now. I know that the wait time has been long for many people, and that there is a hire freeze. I've been waiting since January 15. Anyone else had a similar wait time? Thanks!

I have a friend Who worked HA and confirmed to me the line had ended. I have worked at W for almost a year now, from home. At first was an IC and then converted to employee. I've certed on a few lines and mainly work Sh*p. Aside from being a member at places such as this, I also get and give as much help as am able to at other sites, such as workplacelikehome.com , It is always great when we can help eachother out, especially when training and getting used to the work at home environment. Hope you all are having a great Easter.

awestuser, What do you mean the line had ended for Home Again? I took the training for the skill and am supposed to be waiting for my webinar. I never got an email for the webinar yet. Does this mean I took the training for nothing? Please let me know.

Yes, please go and look on workplacelikehome.com and go the thread for west lines. On the thread for the HA line it will tell you when it ended and why. Am sorry you had to find out this way. It was not fair they trained you and nothing came about. Hopefully they will send you another line to train on. Many people were offere vm to train on or other lines.

Thanks awestuser for the info...I registered on the other board and found the thread. I am a little upset that they trained me for a skill that will do me no good. And that I never got any kind of notice that this had happened. If you hadn't posted I would still be waiting for the webinar. I was wondering if you (or anyone else) might know why I never have any news on my News groups page? Does all the catagories say "0" by them for everyone else? Or is it because I never even got to go to work yet? Thanks for all the help.

Hi, I work for West. Have since last summer.
Wondered if there was anywhere out here that we could get together and chat? I have an IM and I've used mIRC. Would anyone be interested in chatting regularly?
I work for ShopNBC, and recently trained for DR. I can't stand it. Sticking with ShopNBC and hoping to get another skill.
Anyway, would love to chat.
Rachel

Might look into getting a mIRC forum if anyone would like to chat as a group.

rosielopey,
My suggestion to you is to reapply for Cloud10 they are busy and even if they weren't remember they pay hr 9.00-12hr so, it doesn't make a diffrence yes they are hiring and I think you should do a.s.a.p cause people are applying according to what my trainer is telling me. I'm glad I applied I FEEL good that they chose me...best part is I GET to select the project out of many they offered me and they pay flat fee 650.00 for 10days of training and even pay you through nesting. I LEFT West could not handle the instability. RO

ivnslady,
I'm sorry you had to go through that with west. see, I had a familiar incident happened to me. They offered me the Epic skill only if I would take the Dr skill and after training/completed. I WAS NOT EVEN INFORMED BY EMAIL OR CALL that the epic skill was taken from me there response was...after I HAD TO CALLED THEM WAS well, we're sorry we are overstaffed with that skill so, we had to take people off the list. I was furious, but accepted it as it had to happened in order for me to look elsewhere and so be it I DID and now I have a better work at home job paying me more money and feel great that things turned out the way it did. For many this does not work but I'm GLAD IT DID FOR ME. hope this advice helps you just look forward forget the pass and keep searching girl don't give up. RO
