I use vista and worked with West and had no problems. I do have two computers one with xp also because there are some companies out there that are not compatable with vista so I hooked them up with a kvm switch and toggle back and forth, but you should not have any problems with vista and west.

Rsoler, I had my phone call yesterday from the recruiter. They gave me an invitation for the job and accepted it. It pays great and it sounds like it is going to be interesting. It is permanent part time, but they have shift jumps so you can add more hours if someone wants off. The pay is great starting and training starts 6/19. Between that and parameds I will be making the income I need and never have to leave my home. I waited since Febuary to get a position with them and it was worth waiting for. I have applied to voice log and maybe in a couple of months something will open up. That seems to be the trend, you apply and have to wait. I did email West about trying to get into the VM line they said I had to wait, but I am eligable for rehire on DR. No thanks, maybe before Xmas I may consider doing it for extra money but I just can't handle upteen upsells. I am glad you like voice log. I have read good things from people that work with them on other forums.

Hi everyone,
Does anyone have the lenscrafters skill with West? I just got the invite and I accepted it...It looks like is simple just making appointments for doctors office/verifying insurance! not bad! now with both voicelog/west skilll looks good for me. BUt I would like to know if anyone else has this skill with West? and if so, can you tell me about it if you like it? so forth...

RO,
I don't know anything about lens crafters, I was hoping you would get GE so I would have someone to talk to about it. If it is making appts its probably pretty easy, there shouldn't be any pressure to sell anything with that.

RO, I hope all is still going well with your new job however I need some advice on my old one. I am seriously considering resigning from GE.
I have been doing it for over six months now and have been in 1 ranking since I started, my conversion rate averages about 94% and depending on what pal I get I usually get good feedback.
A while back the offered me recurring hours to work the busiest times, which I accepted, last week I got an e- mail that I was eligible to do virtual assist, which is basically an at home pal. I honestly thought I was doing a great job with this program. Then today I get a PIN or "coaching" because my quality was supposedly below 85 last week, I can only assume they are talking about my feedback because my show up rate, order conversion and schedule adherence were all excellent. The only feedback I got for that week was a 88.8 which I realize is not excellent but not below average either.
I have gotten some feedbacks that were 78 before, but not for that week and my performance is always great, at least on paper. It just throws me for a loop every time, this is the second time I have gotten a PIN when as far as I know I am doing great. It ruins my whole day and there is no way I am going to preform good after that. I suppose it could be a mistake but the odds of getting it cleared up seem pretty slim considering the communication problems that already exist. I just can't handle the confusion, if I am doing a good job then leave me alone, if I am doing a bad job then don't give me high numbers and promote me. Whats the deal?
Thank you for listening and any advice would be appreciated, my husband just thinks I over react to it but I don't think so, I mean its right there on your record two PINS.

Vagabond,
This is the best advice I can give you from my experience...I can only say that coaching is really not a big problem... Don't get overworked, or overwhelmed Believe me I've gotten coaching pins several times and it only means that we are either overlooking something from the training and consistently making that error. IF you were considered and offer the vitual assist, then that is a good sign you should be a little more relieved because of that. Anyhow, if I were you I would ask myself if I'M HAPPY with the pay min rate and feel comfortable doing ge skill then I would not let it go. On the other hand, if your only concern is the feedback then I would work on it call the pal and review the coaching with the pal ask were are you making the mistake and try to improve on that area. Your husband is right SORRY! but try not to get overwhelmed over it a coaching pin is not as serious and is not a delinquency. It just mean your overlooking something that needs improvement. Going back to the money issue if in the event you don't like the pay from that skill then go ahead and resign if you can afford it! I resigned from pf and in two weeks I got the offer for Lenscrafters which by the way I just completed and pass and awaiting for the webinar Always remember, where one door closes another opens. Think it over and way out your pros and cons deep thinking can give you an answer and save you time from worries...listen to that intuition and go for it's advice. Good luck! GIRL! AND I HOPE this helps a bit. However, I always think that the best advice comes from within you. Have a Great Day! RO

Thanks, I know I get to worked up over most things but the part that confuses me is under the step level it says "coaching" which is fine, well not fine but I can live with that. But at the bottom where it has comments is says agent is being issued a 30 day probation status for this. So does that mean it is just a coaching or a level III probation? At the top it says if you are on a level III probation you can not be promoted for that time period.
They just confuse the hell out of me really.

Vagabond,
I would disregard that..I had a coaching pin from PFLWRS and I was offered the lenscrafters shortly after...and i still have that pin! and to answer your ? is just a coaching not a level 111 probation. level 3 entails hanging up on cust and more serious problems. I would not worry about it your fine. and you can be promoted and also get an invite cause I got an invite with a coaching pin issued. RO

I have exciting news!!!
I finally received my "WELCOME, You're Hired" e-mail from West At Home!
Can you believe it!? I applied 1/22/08, and a mere 6 months later - I'm hired! Simple as that!
See, all you need is a HUGE, WHOPPING dose of patience (and a hefty bankroll to sustain you) and the world can be yours on a half shell!
Of course I have moved on to other things in the mean time (AA hired me almost immediately!), but we''ll see what, if anything, will come from this exciting new development with West.
This post is for anyone interested, and especially for PugMom58, if you're still around.
Good luck, everyone!

vagabond,
I know how you feel, I just got my first coaching as well. It was for too much transferring. I called in to let them know that most times I was instructed by a PAL to transfer cuz I didn't want them thinking that I was transferring to raise my pay, know what I mean? I was upset too, but the PAL told me that coaching is not bad it's just to make sure you know the correct way to do things. So that made me feel better. I hope you're feeling better, too!

bookwurmee, Thanks, I do feel better, calmer anyway, but I still don't know what exactly I did wrong. According to their dates I had good numbers that week, but who knows, I don't know why they put those goals up there like that would be something to aspire to, turns out that is the min they expect, or at least in my case it has been. Thanks for all your support. I think I need a vacation, I wonder if I would get in trouble if I took a week off? Probably, but I may have to anyway, my nerves can't take this. Needless to say, I don't take criticism well.

You will not get in trouble if you take a week off. I've taken time off in the past as long as you keep up with the min hrs of your skill required monthly...you should be fine. RO

Hello,
Kathy here - I posted my first post about an hour ago, don't see it anywhere... ??
I have a question please - I saw the ad for West in an online local newspaper. The requirements there said I must have a corded phone w/corded headset. I did not see that anywhere on the actual west application or website.
Does the phone AND headset have to be corded?
Thank you!

I signed up for Virgin Mobile VMU, which I have no idea what this skill will involve, I just know this is a cell phone company and seems like people have said good things about it in the forum (or was that Virgin Mobile AYE? And what's the difference?).
I have tomorrow (Sunday) off, so I thought I would start training then. Any suggestions or tips about things to avoid or focus on?
Otheriwse, guess I'll jump in and see how it goes!

Hi Everyone, I trained with H$N and have been working the line for a couple weeks now. I am taking my shifts 30 minutes at a time. It does seem pretty overwhelming at times. I am hoping with time it will get easier. I was wondering if there is a place where you can talk with others that work this line. It would be great to be able to get or give information on this line. Any help info would be much appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

Workathomepro,
I work VM also. The difference is that AYS is full customer service and the activation line, which is what I work, is only for a few specific areas, namely activations, migrations, and top ups. I like it, but I have been taking it slowly.
Pugmom,
I too feel overwhelmed many times. Even though I've been with West since the beginning of May I haven't worked as much as I should so I'm still very new and get nervous easily. This week, however, I've vowed to work at least 1 shift each day, then next week take 2, and so on until I'm more comfortable. I'm sure it will get better with more experience.

RO, I decided to take this week off to give myself a break, but I am still obsessed with my performance page, anyway, before you guys talked me down from the ceiling the other day I sent an e-mail through the ask a question thing to ER. I didn't have a cow or anything, just stated the dates and facts and asked why. I got the standard "I will have to research this and get back to you" response and did not expect anything else, I just looked and the PIN is gone. How cool is that?
I am still taking the week off but it is nice to think that sometimes they do listen. Have you tried lenscrafters yet? Let me know how you like it.

Vagabond,
That's great! I'm sure you feel better now huh....anyway I will doing the webinar for lenscrafters this wendsday at 10am will. a pal told me that at the current time they are offering 18per min I'm hoping the calls come in busy. I'm am only using lenscrafters as a part time job now cause Voicelog has me working 34hrs a week and the pay is good for now. so, I'm happy for the most part voicelog pays by the hr and it never changes...which is stability and i know what to expect every two weeks with them. so, really for now I think I'm on the right track. Until I finish my MT COURSE AND THEN I'll work from home as an MT. Is going to take me about a year to finish the course...overall I'm ok for now. thanks for asking. keep me posted when you get back from you mini vac.... HEY! RELAX! AND HAVE A PINA COLADA BY THE SUN! OR WHEREEVER!!! RO R

Hi,
i've tried filling out their application a couple of times, but they will only allow me to comlete it if I speak Spanish. Do they ever hire non-bilingual workers?

Yes they do, but I believe may be happening right now is they are in need of spanish speaking agents and do not need the non-bilingual at the moment. My suggestion, keep checking and trying because with this type work it changes day to day. Best of wishes with your job search. You might want to check other places like live ops, voicelog, verafast. That is all I know of right off hand. Take care.
