I just finished my second night. Not bad. Customer was really nice about the long wait time. I keep getting a error message everytime I tried to add programming. I changed her base package saved it, then tried to add HBO. Would not let me add anything. Pal kept telling me I hadn't change base package, and I done it 3 times, but still wouldn't let me add anything. And the account was in good standing. She was very polite about it with the hold time and everything. But I felt stupid since I couldn't do anything for her. I tried to call a Pal, but it told me I had to create a Service Request? Not sure what or how to do that? Anyways she said she would just call back and try to get it taken care of. I went over my shift by 30 minutes with this ONE call.



LOL sounds like you had fun! Well you could have changed the base and added HBO all at the same time. After you select a new base package just click on the Premium tab and click on the change there them accept changes. As for the service request, every call has to have a service request. Some are done automatically depending on what you do and most time you have to create one for every call. What I do is before the call ends I click on the service request tab in RIO and start doing it before I hang up. If you dont see it then click on the ACCOUNTS tab in the upper left part of the screen then look in the bottem left and you will see the service request tab. Click it then click the new button. The fill out the section based on what you did then add a comment as to what you did then click submit. Then you ready for the next call. When you get good you will be able to do this while the customer is still on the line and this will keep your wrap time real low. Also sometime you cannot go to available until to do a service request for the call. If that happens just do what I just said even if the system did on auto and you will be able to go available. Also if you need more time at the end of the call just hit the "M" button on the phone bar before the customer hangs up.

Hey buckwheat, I was told not to use the M button or N button, just ask them to hold while you note the account. Also, I have no idea what you are talking about a service request on every call? Are you referring to call logging? I have been having Rio issues for days now and getting bumped off saying I missed 3 calls, and then I sit and wait and it will say incomming call, and nothing would come into Rio and then I would get dummped again.

Joe, if you still have the number, give me a call, I have to tell you about an issue I had with a PAL.

Is anyone else having technical issues and the PAL keeps asking when you ran that stupis WAHE Assist? I have conflicts on what the Tech's tell me about what I can and cannot have in my system and what the PALs tell me. That is my only issues now, the call taking is the easier part, even though I cried my first night , now 2 weeks into production and it is much easier, although I am still not a DOris fan as I find it hard to find stuff. I think the activations are easy, email me and I will help you. ([email protected]) There are many PALs that are nasty and I actually put in a complaint about one who made a nasty comment about me while I was on the phone with another PAL. I was having connection issues and had to call in a couple times and the first PAL said to the one I was on the phone with, "What does she want now, I just talked to her". I was so upset and felt like an ass, I finally complained since they are supposed to be there to HELP us not make us feel stupid. I am also having an issue with a PAL who thinks they know everything. YOu are right Charlie is the best, but Chris and Steve are great also. If you put that as a note on that after shift summary, they do get those, Charlie has thanked me before. Good luck to you it gets easier, I was in production real quick also.

Hey Joe, Sorry I havent been on in a while, on Monday night West was habing issues, I got a lot of my hours ET'd as I am sure most had, but not long after that my pc crashed, I had to re do everything in it. I am having issues with what Tech as West is telling me and one particular PAL. I have already complained about the smart mouth on one PAL since I am not going to be made to feel like crap by someone who is supposed to be there to help me. Anyway, call me if you can, but as far as the reocurring schedules, anyone that wants one, put in NOW!!! I did and I am still waiting 2 weeks later for it to be put in Spectrum. THe hours were not all that friendly. I like early morning, but there were only morning available on the weekends. I was able to choose from say 4-11pm during the week and 8am-10pm on the weekends. I am still waiitng for that schedule, and I keep getting told that it should show up in specturm when they get it done, but until then I have to schedule my hours.

Joe how did you do with the bonus issues? I am due 2 bonuses one for finishing my OJT before Feb 28 and for working 20 hours. Is that work 20 hours thing all the time or just right now when they need someone? Also what is your IM again, I lost all that to. Talk to ya soon

I had alot of error issues last night, and didn't get a whole lot of help with it. I used the chat because when I tried to call a Pal at the top of Rio it told me before I could contact a Pal I had to create a "Service Request". So everytime I need to call a Pal I have to create a "Service Request"? I really hope things go okay tonight. I'm getting a little frustrated. I know it takes time to learn everything, really since we didn't get to practice using the Rio in training. It's much different using it while on the phone with someone when you have to learn everything as you go. Even though training went over everything its still a little different when you actually start doing it with someone on the phone. Like I said I hope things go smoother tonight, and I hope everyone else is doing well.
Thanks for all the help and encouragement, because I keep telling myself I'm not sure this is for me.

I had technical issues all day yesterday and I was toold the same thing about the wahe assist program. Its a canned statement they tell you when they dont know whats wrong. I had a issue with one particular PAL yesterday..very rude but what I did was when I logged out I put it all in the end of shift survey and I actual received a email later that night stating it wont happen again so I would suggest using that when you have good and bad experiences. There are some good PALs and they should not go unnoticed.

My reoccuring schedule got setup immediately..It may depend on who you talk to..my problem is I can get out of OJT for some reason..I have done over 30 hours and still in OJT..I keep asking..my production is good but I noticed that non of my calls show up in the stats..just my hours are showing up..

Okay either I don't know what the heck I'm doing or I'm just that bad at this. Do I sound negative or frustrated? Seems really negative. Anyway you are going to have to give me your chat name and where you chat or a number where I can reach you or email or something. I really need some help with understanding some things I thought I understood.
My call tonight wasn't too bad, she was making sure she was not being charged for 4 receivers which I got that taken care of, but then one of her receivers had been unplugged and when she plugged it back up it wouldn't work. She had a blue screen. Okay so I go throught Doris and find what I'm suppose to do, which it said do a Resend Authorization which I tried but the system would not let me, so then it said transfer if the problem presisted. I tried to transfer but it wouldn't let me that dang Service Request popped up again. I tried to do the Service Request it asked for but all boxes were grey so I couldn't do anything. And the chat was slow tonight, was not able to get the help from there. I really want this job so I can be home with my kids, but if I keep this up I don't know how well that will work out. Okay alot of negative vibes, I'll try to be more positive and with some hard work and help from others maybe I can pull this off. Hope you had a good night and I will talk with you later with less of the negative vibes I have right now.

Tabatha, dont get frustrated. I am also a stay at home mom who 3 short years ago worked in high level cororate america. I have been looking for over a year for a job from home, and they just aren't there. This is a great opportunity (I think) for people like us who want to stay home with our kids and make more money. Hang in there, we will help you. I still have no reocurring schedule and I will check on that today. As for the service request I only get that when I put something like one of the technical things in the area field in the call logging. CHeck and see if that is it, I usually just then change the area to something general like account and info and it goes through fine. ALso if you ever get stuck in the call log and keep getting pop ups, right click on it and choose undo and it will erase it and you can start again to get rid of that pop up. I hope that helps. It does get easier, I was really really frustrated at first and I was ready to drop it also, then I cleared my head and realized it is a job and if I cant do something I put them on hold, call a PAL and if it takes 25 minutes to get someone, so be it, if they dont care how long we are on hold, neither do I. Dont stress to much just wait on hold and get paid to do so. I have only had one really irate customer so far, and her account type said FRD which is fraud anyway, so it was a no brainer. I am going to install msn chat tonight and my user name is tinascottnaidan so if you are on (I am on 6-8 EST) type in if you cant get a pal and I will try to help you.

Buckwheat, I have been putting things in my summary, kudos and bad things. I am getting the idea that the higher ups were not getting how bad these guys were. I only got dumped from Rio 2x last night, much better than the 15 times the time before. Still waiting for that schedule and now I cant get enough hours, going to call today. Good luck everyone. I really needed that. I hoping that when I do learn this whole thing I will love it, as for now I think its just nerves, and not knowing if I'm doing things exactly right. But thanks for the vote of confidence and I will most definitly have to hit you up with tha chat thing, because sometime that Pal chat wait is extremely long. But if they don't care about that wait time and how long they are taking to get to me, then I'll just do the best I can.

OK ladies and getlemen let me have your attention, I don't normally get irate about stuff, but I AM F'ING PISSED, I grow tired of the crap that they pull on us...Last Week it was advertised all week about the bonus for workin 20,30, or 40 hours,...So being a good(and greedy ) soldier I logged 31.8 hours from Monday the 2nd to Sunday the 8th and am now being told that the bonus period was from the 1st to the 7th, I am talking with Diamond now and she GETS IT!!! WTF is the deal with payroll not knowing what is going on!!!.....Looks like Diamond is talking to her supervisor to get this corrected.....KEEP TRACK OF YOUR HOURS AND BONUSES!!!!!!

I see two problems here 1) This Nicloe person dosen't understand West pay period and 2) when they send these emails they need to put the eligible dates in them. I noticed on the emails they sent today they actual have dates in them. Maybe your emails helped this situation. They have alot of problems in numerous areas they need to address and lets hope they are doing that. We need to be viligent as well as to making sure they do. Great job! I hope you get all your money.

I finally got moved to production today after almost 40 hours of OJT and I just picked up 40 hours for next week. I only got one irate customer during OJT but she didn't really bother me that much. I had one really bad day on Tuesday with system problems and one PAL who must have been on the rag (no offence ladies) but I let them know in the end of shift survey to which they responded to pretty fast.

Hello I am new here, I have lurked for about 2 weeks but finally am posting. I am overwhelmed! I am almost done with ACE training and yet I still feel like I don't know what is going on in so many areas!! I need HANDS ON training, I dont like this watching stuff, I need to move around in the system myself to know what is going on.

I have worked on phones before for Hyatt reservations and I can remember thinking I was overwhelmed then too but after awhile I could do it with my eyes closed. But with this, DirecTV there are so many MORE things you have to do.

I put off ACE training for 4 days after starting it so now am craming to get it done in time so that wasn't smart but I kept thinking I am never going to make this work. Plus my husband is going out of town for 2 months starting Monday the 16th so my first week on the phones will be without help watching my 3 children (ages 4, 2 and 12 weeks(who only breastfeeds)) am I crazy here to even think I can do this and 20 hours at that!?!?

HELP!

Is OJT actually talking to people or do we get fake calls to learn more? Do you go straight from ACE training to talking on the phones?

hi i new on this of work at home , i apply for west.com i do the training but i failed in the seond test anybody know if they going to give me another chance???

also if not? anybody know where can i apply to work at home same benefits like west.com:
1- they paid training..
2.- no money involved.
3.- i can schedule my hours anytime

Well last night I took 10 calls in an hour. I took the advice from the above and worked late. I will tell you that it was soo confusing to say the least. I couldnt transfer correctly, I couldnt activate anything and I ended up accidently hanging up on people. So Im going to spend a couple hours today going over the things I did wrong yesterday before my hour shift tonight. Im hoping that by Monday I will be ready to do more then an hour at a time lol. Things have got to get better from here. Right? Lol

Hi Toobcherished, don't feel bad I've been doing it for a week now and I'm still a little confused. I is difficult to being with and it does take a while to figure the system out. I'm still trying to figure things out. I've done all the same things you have done. But as a few good ol users above have told me. Take your time, if you can't figure it out put them on hold and use Doris. Doris is a little confusing but just read everything until you find it. And if you still can't find it use the Chat in Gateway to ask a Pal. Just be polite and try to explain to the customer that you are working to fix their issue. Trust me I still am having a hard time and I'm hoping it will get easier the more I do it Good Luck and if you don't think you can do the hour shifts to begin with do the 30 minute ones.

Hello! Ok as I get ready to take calls this coming week I am curious what I should be looking at in RTS to review. What do people call the most about? Or what is the most confusing? I am hoping I am not TOTALLY lost since I have worked on phones before, but from what people are saying it sounds like it could be confusing! Plus you don't actually get hands on training its more about watching things.

So any advice would be great!!!

Hey Joe new question, I have been on forabout 60 hours now, I just looked in my performance thing and they reviewed 2 calls that I took on the 13th. My review score was like 75 on each because I did basically call them by their name and reiterate what I have done on the acct. It is not ALWAYS necessary and not always appropriate when I have had this poor slob on hold 3x at 10 minutes each. As well, I also feel like as ass saying "OK BOB let me see what I can do for you, OK BOB it looks like..." I connect with them in a difffernt way, some by small chat (no I dont only talk about DTV-some people just want to talk), I had a guy notice I coughed and started asking what kind of a cough and recommended some stuff and then told me he was a Dr. He was happy chatting back and really didnt give a shit about chatting about his favorite show, but just making a connection. I have had more than a dozen customers tell me what a wonderful experience having me on the phone, etc. How polite andwonderful I am blah blah, so how much does their comments effect me keeping my job? Do you have those? Anywya, just venting, I have had a HUGE issue with PALS telling me if a have a tech problem to run the WAHE asst, that is BU......IT!!! I called Tech 2x and they told me the same, it DOES NOT DIAGNOSE, it is only good if you have totally revamped your pc. I am at the point that if they think I suck because I didnt reiterate my call (which I do most of the time) or call them by their direct name, and they want to let me go because of it, SO BE IT. I am tired, frustrated and irritated always trying to fight for or about something..... sorry to rant, HELP, BTW my personal email is [email protected] if anyone wants to write, I dont have time anymore to check this a lot, thanks for your help and listening

Okay just got moved to production yesterday. My first day is Monday 16th. Had a lot of calls. Having trouble with the system saying I've missed calls when I'm on the phone with another person. I have even pressed the more time button and it is giving me calls when I haven't even got off the phone with the first customer. And I feel as though I'm not doing that well. But anyway if someone knows what I'm doing wrong with the calling when I'm not done with the first customer please fill me in, I'm lost.

OK, never let the cx hangup if you can avoid it, the LAST thing you do is while confirming they have no more questioins write up your service request and note it, DO NOT HIT SUBMIT YET, then end your call(physically hangup), hit submit immeadiately and your call bar will go from "m" to "r" to the red "N" automatically, I hope this makes sense, you can not use the more time button, it doesnt work!!!, and you can not end a call using the call log tab either!! IF THE CX hangs up, try to hit the red "n" quickly or if there are calls in the cue you will automatically recieve a call with no opportunity to submit your service request.

Tabitha, I had the same problem for days, sometimes it is not your fault. One night in a 1 hr shift I was bumped out of Rio 16 times. Just tell the caller "please give me one moment while I note your account, put in your notes and then say your Have I answered your questions. That is the only way I have found to make it through without te system kicking me out. feel free to email me at [email protected] if you like. Let me know when you are on and we can find a way to chat then and I can try to help. Dont get discouraged, we all went through that, and I still have issues, it is not a very user friendly system I must say.

Hey all
I got through my 2nd and 3rd shift with no problem of calls coming in before I was finished with the other call. Not sure what I did, but it worked. I have had a few customers hang up due to a long wait time. But I went back and forth telling them I was trying to resolve their issues. I guess they just got tired of waiting. I hate when that happens, because it makes me feel they are looking at that as its my fault when really I'm waiting on them to help me out on something I'm not quite sure about. But thanks for all the upbeat vibes going on, really brings up my spirit.

Well this is funny. I had a cust. call and was upset she got put on hold and was waiting a long time. So she hung up and called back. Guess who she got? ME!! Anyway she wanted to talk to a manager, so I tried to call a Pal to find out who I needed to transfer her to. Somewhere in there I got disconnect from Pal and cust. Well little while later I got a phone call saying I never connect a cust with a pal without speaking to them first. Oppps, I didn't know that I had done that, but it happened. Anyway Pal was a little upset, but the customer was just as upset since she could not get in touch with a manager. I tried to find out if I could help her but she insisted on the manager. How do you get a customer to a manager anyway? Anyone know this please let me know so this doesn't happend again. Also if anyone can help me with the activation I need HELP!!! I just can not seem to get this one figured out. I'm open for suggestions. Email me at [email protected] and I will do my best at getting better at this one. System is not friendly.

Read my previous posts......Dont give up though, email the hr dept with your issues, you must be extremely specific!!!because they seem to be a bit illiterate..If you know you're right then and get a poor response then you can try to call a PAL, specifically your team lead PAL, they usually tell you to take it up with HR, but if you calmly explain the issue to them they do have supervisor's that can help if you keep getting ignored/screwed by payroll dept.
