Vagabond, Khirst22 and eber,

Getting hrs a little tricky first you have to find out more/less when shopnbc post the hrs for us once, you find out they usually post them same time/day weekly. Now this is how it has been with other skills I have had with west. However, Vagabond I don't think that being on first rank (your are given more hrs) the hrs are posted for everyone whatever rank your in. not more/less. If someone, told you that is news to me because I have never had that with any west in any skill I have worked. Were did you hear that? You are right though it is true that some people go ahead and grab hrs galore and then drop them when they realized it's to much for them so we grab them through trade.

P.S.

The holidays are coming up I would think incentives/bonuses will be increased. I hope so, cause that will be neat.

I don't know that it is just a guess that they may do something like that. The reason I thought that is on other skills in the past I have heard some people complain that they could not get any hours while others seemed to have more than enough, but it could be that the ones who couldn't get any just weren't checking at the right time. I know at one point with GE if you didn't happen to check right when they were posted people would grab them up in no time.

Vagabond,

Your right if you are not there when posting hrs... more likely you will miss a lot of hrs being posted. However, the ranking issue is not relative to hrs availability. Your also right about the graveshift being more busy. I guess people like to shop at nighttime makes sense. I just hope it's really busy so we don't have to get stuck with min wage...A pal told me we do get incentives for every sale so hopefully, that will increase our paycheck. I think is as the training specified 1 dollar per min order of 300 and 5 dollars per min order of 500 not sure got to backtrack on that...but is something within that range. It helps because or we are doing is taking orders in every call. The people are ready to shop so we will make incentives in 99% calls. Let's see how that goes.

It was a theory anyway, I am always trying to figure out a method to the madness. It should be busy especially around the holidays I don't think the economy has affected the die hard home shoppers yet.

Vagabond,

I would like to give you the MT info but I think is best if i speak to you on the phone tell me if that would be alright with you. Sometime next week or soon when I get situated in my new home.
The reason I would like to do it that way is to give you all the info is much easier talking on the phone so, I can give you the resources as well. K...let me know.

Sounds good, I am usually here, you said you were like 3 hours ahead of my time so let me know if you want me to call you (if your number will still be the same). I will send you my number in a PM incase you would rather call me when you get a chance. I know from experience that moving is only fun while you are thinking about it, once you start unloading the boxes it looses a lot of the thrill

I've got a question about scheduling. I've been checking out the hours available and have noticed some are dark green, labeled available. And some are light green, labeled premium. Does premium mean we get payed more for working them or what?

Usually the trades are dark green. Pay is the same, what ever that skill is paying. Sometimes when their is a long list of trades it will even say "none" for the pay, but it all pays the same.

Ok. I wonder why they even bother with separate colors then?

I suppose they think it makes it look better. Also downtime is red but only while you are removing it and your scheduled hours are purple.

When I signed up for the webinar they said they would send me the link to attend about 15 minutes before. I have never done it that way before, usually you get a list of the links and pick one to attend. Just wondering if anyone has had trouble getting the link in time and when I should get it. Usually if something can go wrong it will go wrong with me and I have this picture of not getting it , missing the webinar, and having to wait another week to get in, but thats just me.

Vagabond,

I think I'm kind of late on your ? but if not...I had to call them 20mins prior to the webinar starting because they forgot to send me the email. So, I would call half hour before starting if I were you.

Vagabond,

I stumbled across a forum called workplacelikehome and there are many treads of people posting info that worked for WST now...when I read the shopnbc threads...I have to say I'm not thrill because according to what they are saying is that more agents are being hired for that line and the hrs are minimal and it looks like they are having a hard time grabbing hrs. So, here we go again...I'm hoping that is not the case but I guess we will find out soon enough.

Vagabond,

My email for the webinar showed up about 45 minutes to start time.

Rsoler,

That sucks about the hours if true. But looking at hours available it looks like it's going to be a pain for me to try and get 40 hours a week. If I do manage it, it looks like my hours will be all over the place. I can just see working any and every half hour to two hour slot here and there over the course of a full twenty four hour day.

I attended the most boring 2 hour webinar I have ever been to. They went over the basics of the site more than the skill. The most exciting part (and the most annoying part) was someone's phone had a horrible echo and you heard everything twice. The one thing I did learn is we don't cancel orders we transfer to customer service. The instructor had never heard about sending someone a program guide like they show you in training and, RO, tell me if I heard wrong but the way I understand it we don't have the chat feature to ask questions like with other skills, the chat bubble is only for pals to send you info?

I got some death threat email from west, ok more of a firing threat, saying that I HAVE to review the policy manual within the first 15 days OR ELSE. So, I read it... But how do they know that? Is there a test or form or something somewhere I need to do so they know?

When I first started it was online and you had to click on it and read it, well, you don't have to read it but you have to look at it, they can tell when you click on it in the site. I don't know how, I guess because it is a trusted site and they know what you do on it.

I just finished the webinar so too early for me to tell, if it has been 5 business days though I would call a pal, they say 5-7 business days and you need to wait that long before you call or run the risk of getting a smart A pal who tells you to call back. Just my opinion.

Thanks vagabond, I was getting a little worried about it after reading that email.

KHirst22, not me. Not yet. I did my webinar Monday morning and was hoping to have received it by now. But they did say 7-10 days.
