Hello, everyone, I'm Michael...I just found this site today! I was let go from my job about 3 weeks ago (with no decent explanation), and I would love to work from home, but must replace or exceed a $38,000/yr job.
I'll be doing a lot of reading in the forums, so please forgive me if I don't reply to a post in a short amount of time...looks like I have my work cut out for me in the reading and info department! Lots of stuff here....
I hope to find something great!

Hi Michael,
Do have a good look around. You may find some things that interest you.
Just a word of caution. Not many people will be able to generate $38,000+ in their first year or two online. It's a long slow process to build an online business, just like it is offline.
The exceptions would be people who have a lot of money to invest in getting things rolling faster.
Just don't believe everything you read. You can build a decent income online, but certainly not overnight unless you already know exactly what to do, how to do it, and have the money to do it.
I hope you find something that suits you to a tee.

It depends on your past experience and skills. Many freelance jobs can make you more than $40000/year

Welcome to the forum,
The are so many opportunities online it is just finding the right one for you. I mean you can work for a company on a fixed salary or build an online business, where it could take time to build up your income.
So take a look around the forum and the is a good chance you will stumble across something you are interested in.

Welcome Michael,
Maybe a new door of opportunity is waiting here for you that will make you thank your boss for letting you go!
You are doing the right thing by researching things - just don't let it turn into analysis paralysis - lol... Most of have our business opportunities in our sig lines and if you have questions on anything, you usually get a quicker answer if you pm them - I know, for myself, it's quicker that way as I am not on here every day.

You won't be able to replace a $38,000 per year job with any type of online home based business overnight. That's for sure. If anybody promises you otherwise, RUN AWAY and don't look back.
We recommend you replace that job with another one outside the home. Go put some resumes out there. There must be something else you can do?
Once you have a new full time job, then you may want to consider looking into starting a part time home based business. I don't care what anybody else says, it's going to cost you some money to get into a good program and then some more money each month to maintain it. Don't be fooled into thinking otherwise.
For example, I work a full time job, 12 hours a day outside the home. I get up at 3am Monday to Friday and I'm back home by 4:30pm. After a shower and some dinner, I work on my home business until 10pm. On weekends, I spend HOURS on my home business.
My full time job supports my home based business expenses. I won't dare quit my full time job until my part time business replaces and surpasses my full time job. That would be stupid.

Hey, thanks for all the replies and info, guys. I appreciate it!
Yeah, I realize I won't be able to replace my salary overnight with a home-based business...but I'd sure like to get started, and I'm still researching.
My dream is a lot like a lot of yours- to work from home doing something I love doing, escape from the daily 'rat race', and not work for someone else anymore, helping them realize their dreams, but not mine! I just gotta find that right thing, and I will, with lots of prayer and encouragement.

Welcome to the forum. Don't ever let go of the dream. It is possible. There are lots of signature lines to look at. I am sure you will find something that you will enjoy doing from home.

If you have the quality in some field like web designing or Java than you can earn even much better than your last job and if you do not have I would request you to acquire some and than get into this field.
