Ewww - it is SCARY stuff.... did you know that if that bill passes, they can kill our little ones up to two years old?? Uhuh.

Oh, and they can take your grandma or grandpa and decide if they are a valuable citizen of our country... if not, they will deny them healthcare.... oh and if you happen to be too fat, you will not be able to get health care either... just so happens that you did not take care of your body correctly, so you won't qualify for the new health care plan... better read the fine print, bro!

I had a friend in Canada where they happen to have a similar health plan that is being proposed here in the states.... he was terminally ill with cancer and an operation coulda saved his life, but because of the shortage of doctors (wonder why that is??) he was putting on a waiting list, and yep, you guessed it, he died....Here we can still go to a different doctor or pay for better care and GET HELP... there he was stuck.... there was nothing he or his family could do about it ...

Okay - I will get off my soapbox now - all I can say is READ THE SMALL PRINT!

Hi Tom,

It's not even close to sound. As M5 pointed out, it has several major and unacceptable flaws - repulsive flaws, in fact.

My friend is from Canada, and he was saying that you have to wait a LOOOOOONG time for elective surgeries, and as mountainmom pointed out, you can die in the process of waiting for treatment - some Canadians have to pay to get their surgeries done in the US so they won't die!

One thing I was curious about is what this will mean for health insurance companies...anybody know what the implications are?

I don't think its a bad idea to give free health care to individuals who cannot afford health insurance, but if the health care bill passes, it could really screw up the relatively good (but not perfect) healthcare system we have now.

So how do you all propose to to fix the 50-60 millions uninsured Americans, who at the end of the day still place a massive burden on the Tax Payer (Medicaid and Medicare).

These same 50-60 million uninsured people still need or use the health care system, but who pays their bill? hmmmm - The Taxpayer!

Please point me to the sub-section in the bill that accurately justifies your statement above?
A bill that will kill a two year old...What??? Not in the United States

I may have been a tad bit on the dramatic side there but here is a link to some of what seems to be coming down the pipe, all connected to Obamas new health care plan...

I don't disagree that a health care plan could work to everyone's benefit but not the way it is being proposed under the bill we have now...

BUT hey this is a WORK AT HOME forum and I apologize for stirring the can of worms

I will try to not get involved in politics on this forum again and save it for what it is intended to be - a place where we can learn together about ways to make money from home - and let others solve the world's problems.... lol

I can't believe that there are some people in this world that fall for this propaganda. LOL!

I am also still trying to find where the heck in the bill that it states it will kill 2 year olds...lol

...and any can that has the slightest link to anything political will certainly be murky to begin with, and besides worms, will contain a variety of pandora surprises.

The harsh reality is that any health care bill that passes, regardless of how much of an improvement it may be over what's available currently, will still be viewed as inadequate by those segments of the population that believe they are underserved.

Regardless of how sweet it may be to the palate of the majority, there will be those who only notice the bitter aftertaste.

And the tax payer would still pay their bill if a national health care plan was instituted...

Exactly...Fix it in the front end and know exactly what the costs will be. Might as well cover everybody properly.

I don't know exactly what's in Obama's bill, but if it is any close to the Canadian health care system (which I don't think any one in the world would copy) please guys do what you can to stop it.

My wife has to wait 6 months after her accedent to have an MRI, just to decide what to do next. In Egypt (the country that's is till on the American aid list) you get your MRI the same day you know you need it and people are still complaining it is not fast enough to save lives.

The surgery that my wife might need is a very minor surgery that in Egypt it takes half an hour to do and patient goes home the same day, and is being carried out every where (including in private clinics that is affordable to the vast majority of the population that earns under $1 per day). Here in Canada there is a 12-18 months waiting list.

How rediculus is that?

After a thought, if you guys in the US copy the Canadian health system you'll do it right. You already have doctors.

Our problem is the shortage of doctors and health care professionals, and the reason is that not enough Canadians are able to be doctors, and the immigrant doctors are not allowed to practice medicine in Canada. Imagine a 55 year old ophthalmologist required to get through the medicine school, residency, and years of post graduate studies to be able to do what she was doing in Russia.

And those who make it prefer to cross the border and work in the US because of the Taxes.

In Toronto there are more doctors driving caps than seeing patients in the hospitals. This is our real problem.

I appreciate the comment. I do hope the United States Get it right. Nothing is perfect in this world, but I just hope for better Health Care System for all.

I think importantly most of all is to cover young children across America.
