Hi everyone, my name is Jamie from Colorado! I am a single mom and stock with no job and my 2 lovely girls below 10.I am new to the internet marketing and money making online thing. I came across this site today and decided to join in and get some ideas and advice to start off somewhere.

I learnt that the best way to start making money online without any upfront money is by promoting affiliate offers and i have started with some programs already even though i haven't seen results but i still believe i can learn more from fellow moms who do make money online through affiliate marketing. I am open to suggestions and advice.

Thank you all in advance!
Jamie

Welcome Jamie!

You are doing the right thing, girl. Just getting started is sometimes the biggest hangup for folks but experience is your bestest teacher.

Feel free to come by anytime and ask questions - as you go along, you will have questions, believe me, we all do, and this is a friendly place to learn.

It's certainly one of the easiest ways to get started. The next step is to seek out the easiest (free/cheap) ways to generate interest in your affiliate page. There are many methods to choose from: article marketing, free ads and squidoo lenses are only a few.

There is a wealth of useful information and guidance on this forum. Take a look around and sponge up everything you can, and when the questions pop into your head, let them fly right here. You'll be guaranteed to get several helpful responses and lots of support.

Welcome to our sunny corner of the Internet and all the best to you!

Hermas

Hi Jamie,

The best way to start you must pay to learn. if you wish to learn how to drive, you need to go to a driving school. Of course yr friend can teach you but in the end you still need to pat, to register then take the test.

you can start free but you will be paying with your time and .....
later you give up, its taking to long for the money to come in.

Welcome. I am a single mom too, trying to make ends meet. Everyone here is correct. They will answer your questions. I have tried other forums, but its just not the same. Can't explain it. I was running in circles and I jumped into a few things that I regret, but I eventually figured it out. I read the posts here for months.

You will find a lot of good credible people here and I honestly believe that want to see us all succeed.

A year from now I plan on still being here and hopefully helping others like I have been helped. Best of luck!

Hello Jamie, and welcome to the WAHF. I'll try to be helpful and at the same time brief. Of course for the first time some things wont make much sense to you. Just ask.

Step #1: Find the market, not the product.

I see you have already joined an affiliate program. Not a problem. Put it aside now and do this. Go to Google or Yahoo and search for the most relevant word to your affiliate product or program. Look for sponsored links, do you see any? If yes, are there hundreds of them or just a couple? If you see hundreds go back to the search box and type a more specific "long tail" keyword that is also relevant to your product (try some, not just one) and do the same job again. Keep doing it until you find a long tail keyword that is highly relevant to your affiliate product and gives you at least one page of sponsored links. Take note of theose sponsored links and check again after one week if you still can see them.

One page (10 ads) of persistent sponsored links mean that there is a market of buyers in your "subniche" (which is the small market that you just found, also defined as a group of people who have common interest in one very specific issue).

If you don't get this kind of results just ignore this product and find something else to sell. One good strategy that women (and myself) do is to watch Oprah's show for ideas. You can also join ClickBank and do the above process (I call it spying on the market) for some products until you find one that has a market.
This is step one.

Step #2: Drag traffic.

Get traffic to your affiliate link to the product that passed step #1. The easiest and fastest way is that you join forums related to this product, put your affiliate link in your signature (as you already figured out) and participiate in the discussions in a positive way. Negative participation and/or spamming not only will get you no result, but also will harm you.

Other ways that involve web 2.0 websites will get you a flow of targeted traffic if you structure it the right way. But that's a long story.
