Hi - Please I need help from someone experienced in PL operations.
I am (a) 63 (b)first time I ever switched on a computer was 6 months ago (c) no internet marketing experience. Considering the above, do you think I stand a chance of succeeding in PL course and actually end up making money? Will it help to say that I am amped to give it a try, but is that enough? Something else; my very first task was to register with Clickbank but in the process closed the page before Icould enter my confirmation code. What can I do to rectify my mistake?

Try to login to Clickbank to see if the process went through. If you can't login the just register again.

Hi John
Its difficult to say just from your information how well you will do with PL. Its concerning that you havent switched on a PC for 6 months(!) as with PL it will on on serveral hours a day while you learn and practice the techniques . If you are prepared to put in a lot of work and dedicate time to learning PL then it will work.
Best of luck.

Thanks Rick63, will try your suggestion. Hi Andyj00, the fact is that I've never used a computer in my life until 6 months ago when Idecided to kinda teach myself. I guess that makes it more difficult! Anyway, I would rather hear the truth now than to blunder on the PL path to nowhere. Ido have some other income generating ideas which would not require much depth in computer skills. Let me know your thoughts.

Hi Johnmac,
Congrats on your decision to teach yourself how to use a computer and the internet. Rest assured, the fundamentals are quite easy and no more difficult than typing, clicking and hitting a few virtual buttons. Aside from occasional frustration, it'll be easier than you fear.
I'm assuming that you've already purchased the PL course though it isn't entirely clear. Good choice as far as available routes. You could have done much worse.
I'm sure that if you're truly interested and remain so, you'll do well. Interest, determination, and commitment go a very long way in successful online marketing.
Within the PL course, just start at the top left navigation button and work your way down - including downloading and reading all the eBooks. Then just go to the left navigation button on the top and work your way across to the far right.
Read everything carefully and take notes. It takes a good three months or more to get through the material. Make sure you finish all of it.
Read this forum along the way and thereafter. It's a good place to hang out. Get some books. Read some free SEO and online marketing sites. Get your education from a variety of sources. You can even use Google to study sub-topics.
Then put your education in to practice by trying out some free web 2.0 platforms such as Squidoo, Hub Pages, and blogs. You will learn for free there using trial and error.
After you you understand that well, you should be ready for self-hosting.
That general order seems to work best for most folks.
When ever you get stuck, ask for help. For example, if you have trouble with ClickBank, just contact them or bring it up as you did on this board to see if one of us can offer tips.
Good luck,

Let me know your thoughts. John, I'm sure you wont "blunder on the PL path to nowhere". Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If you havent purchased it yet then I would strongly recomend it as one of the better online marketing courses. Beware of any scams out there, if in doubt ask on here before you buy.

Agree with andy.
Forums are great place to ask if you're not sure.
There will be people out there who are interested in making money from you rather than helping you.
You can send an email to clickbank as well, providing as much information as you can about the problem that you faced.
Good Luck! Age is not a factor when it comes to success!

Congratulations!
It's always tough at first, especially if you never turned on a computer before 6 months ago. If you persist, you will be a great success story one in the near future.

Hi everyone, I am a newbie....am just trying to get the PL system ordered and get started...but I do have some questions..similar to Johnmac. I am familiar with computers to a degree so I am not to awfully worried about that, and I have unlimited time to work and get it up and running. But reading some of the posts, is it really going to take 3-4 months to start making any money???? That scares me because I need money now...can't find a job anywhere so i turned to this. Have tried other internet money makers, but not much success at it. Can't I get it set up faster than 3 months??? Also, you guys are talking about an advertising budget...could you please explain that?!

Hi desertlady,
Having been where you are, let me tackle your problem one by one.
1. How Long It Takes To Start Making Money
This depends a lot on your experience. When I got profit lance it took me about 1-2 months. But I had been doing affiliate marketing for 3-4 months before that. But the only reason i recommend Profit Lance is because it doesn't make you money straight away I bet that makes no sense at all to you, so let me explain.
I took up suing Profit Lance not for the instant gratification but for the long term goal that one day I can make money without having to work as much... and it's true. I'm slowly having to work less and less to earn the same amount. But while I was building my automated systems, I also need money fast and here's what I did.
2. How To Earn Money Fast
People need services and the web is the best place to provide these. As I walk my path to online marketing success I also need money to eat, live and pay my electricity bill for the computer. Since my folks ain't rich, I had to find an alternative...
The alternative is simple: Elance. You can work as a freelancer online for other people's projects. If you're good at copywriting, seo, web design, writing articles (or even if you're not ), you can use freelancer sites like elance to make you some money while you track your pat to online riches. It also helps fund you advertising budget.
3. Setting An Advertising Budget
Advertising budget is how much your willing to spend for a certain campaign. Say you're advertising an ebook. You will have to spend money to advertise it on Google, host the site, buy a domain and etc. That's your advertising budget.
Some people factor in the time in takes for them to do things in their advertising budget. Like if you think you're worth $30 an hour and it takes you 30h for this, then you ad it to the budget. I just take the budget as being my expense in terms of dollars.
Sorry for the long post... it's hard to explain all this in few words.
