Can anyone tell me how to drive traffic to my blog? I seem to be missing something, maybe right in front of me. I have three blogs, one since October 2007 and they have zero visitors. PL just warns against paid traffic from what I can find. Why is it so difficult to search specific topics on PL? (Okay, forget that question and please offer knowledge on the first) Thanks, James

Have you tried any of the methods explained in the profit lance course, like article writing, directory submission, forum posting, For example put you sites in your signature if they are relevant to the forum.
The best and most obvious traffic you want to be aiming to get is the search engine traffic, you won't get this unless you site is content rich with keywords based on your sites subject. The site you have had since october have you been regularly updating, if not i would try to make a few changes per week so the search engines continue to crawl your site.
I hope this helps it is just a few ways to gain traffic there are many more but the ones i have highlighted are techniques used by many people.
*oh and search through this forum there are many thread asking how to get more traffic and there are some real helpful posts.

That's some great advice. 
It's easy to lose money with paid advertising that's why it's advised
to avoid that as a newbie.

I highly recommend article marketing. That is where most of my traffic comes from to my blogs!!

I'm reading through Ezine and It appears as though everyone has a product and website. I just have a blog with an adsense ad. Seems pretty weak. Should (are you guys) I get to learning how to create my own website and sell even someone else's product for now instead? I have 6 blogs between myself, g/f and daughter and with only the hope of generating income through adsense. Seems like I'm going after VERY small fish. Your thoughts?

My thought is that in order to make adsense more than just a side income of 0-50 bucks a day you would have ot have MASSIVE AMOUNTS of traffic. Adsense IMHO should never be a MAIN SOURCE of income or profit. As you are getting pennies for active clicks.
You should focus on using ad sense as an income amplifier on a site geared towards selling or promoting a program or product, there are many low cost opttions out there.
AS FOR TRAFFIC:
Article writting is best or has been best for me, but i like to write(check length of this post).
If you're not into writing I would suggest forum posts. I post on sports blogs, forums, christian groups, video gaming groups, accounting groups and many more with a very similar sig line to the one I have in this forum. and i've seen results from all of these...and the best part is I get to meet new people and talk about things I find interesting(though do check forum rules about non-related sig lines.)
I would also suggest updating at least 2 times a week, even if it is just a few pages or a section that you can keep updating daily. I'm working on a section I can update often to keep me getting crawled.

Well there are a few low to no cost.
1. Click bank...i'm not very fond of them however as I don't really see any real value in a lot of the products they offer...but I'm told you can make a living off of selling their items.
2. I am a GDI affiliate...I promote a business opportunity at only $10 a month it's well within my budget and I've seen good success.
3. Marketing your own product/ebook. You can always shove what you know about marketing or about anything for that matter and market it yourself or see if you can get it listed in Clickbank.
4. Surveys: I can make income from these, you do have to do a lot of filling out of forms, but the money is there.
5. There are several ideas floating around on this forum. I'd check peoples signature lines for something you feel comfortable doing.
Do any of these sound interesting to you?

Actually they ALL do. I'm just SO new that I haven't learned what to spend my time focusing on yet. I really enjoy the internet and the concept of earning enough to live on from my computer really gets me jazzed! Eventually I aim to earn enough to be able to migrate to warmer climates in the winter and continue the work there. I just left a job installing satellite dishes, which I've done for several years. The rules changed far against the installer and I was set up to fail if I stayed. I'm supposed to get a job with a company that sells motorcycle jackets that have airbags inside of them (equestrian use too) but the company is awaiting funding. I have enough savings to get by maybe a month and I'm trying to learn as much as possible from the PL course, but my only tutors are what I can find in PL and sites like this. I really don't have a lot of time to waste so I need to focus on bigger income items and learn the rest as I go. Thanks for your help and I welcome ALL advice!

If you get an active site or blog going your ad sense income will grow. There are people making a few bucks to mega bucks with ad sense. The ones making mega bucks have many, many website running. However its nice to make $10-$100 to use for some good paying advertising sources. Where you can market another product, service or opportunity. That what I do with my ad sense dollars. I'm working on setting up more sites, but the free online cash system is keeping me busy, and nice cash flowing for free I might ad. Get busy learning how to drive traffic and money will come. Pursue an opportunity that offers some sort of residual cash flow and you may find yourself in a warm climate checking your steadily growing bank accounts on your laptop while chillin' on your back porch.

Well there are several options for working and creating income online. Most of the "make 1000's in a few short hour" type ads are for the most part lies. I mean technically you CAN do it, but you also technically CAN win the lottery too.
I'll give you the same advice I give all my team members:
DON'T QUITE YOUR DAY JOB
It's just not prudent. Take the guaranteed money and spend your extra time building a business online.
When I first started my first 3 months were in the red(this is very typical with most businesses...which is why when you start a business they say you should have at least 6 months to a year's income in the bank to cover your own cost) I didn't start to see income until right around my 4th month and then small, my 5th month JUMPED in numbers for many reasons, 6th month was very very nice as many "bonus" type payments started pouring in. since then I've stayed pretty consistent with a steady stream of income from all my endeavors.
But it did/does take time.
I hope you stick around and learn the ropes because there is definately money to be made online, you just have to have the patience to figure out how to get it.
