Hi Guys,
I'm just starting out... and i was wondering. For those of you that are making money everyday... how are you making your money? Selling products as an affiliate or adsense?
I'm just trying to get a good idea of which direction I should take.

I have not made any money yet, as I am just getting started, but I am taking the affiliate route. I read back through some forums here to get some great information, and I am using it along with PL to build some blogs in which I will add content that have my links inside.
I am glad you started this thread, vunited. It would be nice for me to know what others are doing as well.

I have dabbled in a couple of areas like adsense and others but i focus more on the affiliate marketing side. Affiliate marketing is an easy to understand technique and was where i started off, however it may not suit you.
There are so many different techniques, money making methods, whatever you want to call them and not everyone will suit the same. Its about finding the right one for you and then putting it in to action.

Once again I will suggest the 30 Day Challenge, it is FREE and you learn a lot from an awesome team of people who know what they're doing. It's also fun and they have a great forum with people to help. Great for beginners like me and all the newbies out there. There are all kinds of gurus on the net who charge a lot of money for what Ed Dale teaches for free. Plus he's a nice guy. Sonni

With affiliate marketing, you may not be credited for the conversions you provide. There are some affiliates who make millions by cookie stuffing and robbing legit affiliates.

I strongly believe that affiliate marketing is the way to go. If you target a specific niche that is in demand you can do quite well. Adsense can work well, but you will have to drive much more traffic to your site which can be difficult for beginners.
Just a Tip: Two essential free tools when you are getting started are Google Trends and Loweryourbidprice.com's free keyword research!
Cheers, Steve

I make money daily through Adsense, and weekly through affiliate marketing. I use both methods on my sites.
Not everyone is interested in purchasing something. Some people are just looking for information of some sort. If you provide good content, some will purchase and some will click on your Google Adsense, others just leave by doing another Google Search.
There are different ways of going at it, as others mentioned. You just need to find a method that makes the most sense to you and fits with your long term goals.
Blessings, Angie

I make my money with affiliate marketing. I make about $3000 per month. For me it is much easier than making adsense add up to a significant amount. My main sources of income are cell phones and satellite dishes. Dan

I have tried various get-rich-quick type schemes, but finally discovered affiliate marketing and have to agree with many of the posts above.
Take Care,

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Basically, it's writing web content and strategically placing the keywords so they will be picked up by Google, making your website (or wherever the content is displayed) rank higher when a keyword search is done.

I am not sure where to get GOOD free info about marketing and such. I just went straight for Profit Lance, which I know you already know about.

It's important to note that most newbies start by trying to tackle the business opportunity industry which is very competitive. With the lack of credibility on the subject matter and no track record of success, they cannot compete with the experts, gurus, and veterans. Soon they give up and quit thinking that it's impossible for them to make and decent money online.
Making some money here and there is pretty easy but if you want to make any decent money, you have to be ready to put in the work and many times think outside the box and deviate from what everyone else is doing.
Also try exploring other niches. There are tons of niches that have very little to no competition. Try promoting tangible products.
A good bit of what I make is from tangible products and high-priced items.

So, i guess my next question is - how many of you use ClickBank as an affiliate program? How many of you have created your own product and are selling it on Clickbank - do you find that this is the best way to make money?
I'm just trying to get a good idea of where i should put all my energty... I've tried marketing products through Adwords - but it just seems like I'm wasting a ton of money on clicks - and not getting a single purchase.

I promote Clickbank products through blogs and review sites. I also use Adsense on some of the blogs. I haven't created my own product, but I would like to in the future.

I am just starting out, promoting Clickbank products. I haven't made a sell but I just wanted to toss my two cents in! I don't really know of any other affiliate marketing programs, so I just chose to go with Clickbank!

Hi Kecia,
If you would like to sell other products, cj.com is a big player. They have just about everything you've seen in stores.
You can also find affiliate programs by just adding the word "affiliate" or the phrase "affiliate program" after any type of product or specific product you would like to sell. It won't work every time but I think you'll be surprised at how many affiliate programs you will find that way on Google.
Good luck!

Anyone care to comment on which is best to start with as a newbie, sell tangible products or clickbank type products. I've read different takes on this and am not sure what to think. Sonni

Hi Sonni,
It's best to join more than one affiliate network. It's nice to be able to monetize in as many ways as possible. Some times it's a bit of a challenge to figure out how so you'll want as many sources to draw upon as possible.
Folks tend to like cj.com, Amazon, ClickBank, eBay, and several niche-specific affiliate networks.
Some networks are quick studies whereas others are a bit more complex and require a fair amount of study. CJ.com (Commission Junction) is one of the more complex networks but if you just put in some time, you'll get the hang of it.
Many of the smaller networks only offer a single product so they are quick studies.
I belong to quite a few networks but if I had to pick one, it would be Commission Junction. You might save that one for a little later since it may prove to be discouragingly complex early in the game. Definitely join it some day though. They have all the big names.
Use the Google search method I've described above your entry. It should serve you well.
One last tip: I'm not sure if you will use one of your existing sites or make a new one, but you'll have to make sure it has several fairly decent pages. The bigger networks look at your site before they approve it.
Also, if a network has several advertisers, they will each check out your site before allowing you to represent their products. Some are more picky than others.
Good luck and let me know if you have any difficulty.

So far I've joined cj, sharasale, linkshare, clixgalore, and clickbank. Not using them all, but want to have access to the products when I'm ready. Linkshare seems to be user friendly as far as the links go. I have difficulty with links at times. Clixgalore is more difficult so I gave up on them, for now anyway. I'm still not sure whether a real product or digital product is best to start with as a beginner. I imagine there are so many variables it's hard to figure out. It would seem that clickbank is easier since you just download it, but if no one buys it what good is easy? Sonni
