I have been studying PL course about 4 weeks now and have found what many of you have said is true - it takes time and effort. Thanks for this advice. I have run into another problem, now. I finally figured out how to take one of the 12 landing pages that the PL course gives to you and place an ad on Google Adwords. I was doing this to practice the selection of keywords to drive traffic. The keywords that I chose should not have cost me over $.63 per click according to the Google Keyword Tool bar, but when I placed them as keywords for my ad, Google Adwords was charging me $10 per click. Stop! I paused my ad! When I investigated the keywords on Adwords, the message I received was, "Improve quality of landing page. In addition, your keyword and ad text can benefit from some general quality optimizations." So, I went back into my add, changed some keywords, and even changed some wording in my ad. I re-started my ad and got the same results - Google Adwords was charging me $10 per click. I have paused my ad a second time. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? Is the quality of the landing pages that the PL course provides us poor? If anyone has any thoghts or ideas on how to correct this problem, I would sure apprciate it. Also, if there is anyone knowledgeable about the PL course that would not mind me emailing them directly, I would appreciate your email address.

I had this problem with adwords as well. I even contacted their tech support and got no resolution. I had to end up deleting that campaign and creating a new one which worked fine with the exact same setup. Go figure!

Yes, I contacted Google's Tech Support, also. On their first email, they told me to disable their Budget Optimizer and I can put in the maximum that I want to pay per click. I did that. My ad now says the keywords are disabled unless I, "Improve their quality through optimization, delete them, or raise the keyword bids to the minimum bids indicated (which is $10.00)". I contacted Google's Tech Support again. This time they told me that they really didn't want to charge me $10.00/click as much as they wanted me to "improve the quality of my landing page". Seeyalater72, I will try what you did and I will let you know what happens.

You answered your own question by quoting Google's response. Your page isn't optimized for your keyword phrase. Did you have an additional question?
Solution = You need to apply on-page SEO.
By the way, always set the parameters in each campaign for a max click amount, max daily amount, and total budget max when ever the ad network allows it.
Profit Lance teaches you how to perform basic on-page SEO. Apparently you need to do some more reading. My advice is not to try anything at all until you have completed the entire course including reading all of the eBooks you need to download.
You won't end up wasting your money if you know what you are doing. The only way to know what you are doing is to take the time to put in your proper studies.
Study.

Well, Seeyalater72, it did not work for me. I deleted my add and made a new one very similar to the first one. I still got a minimum bid of $10 for all of my keywords. My ad was trying to promote video games and I had keywords such as "game reviews" and "full game download" - phrases that I thought matched my landing page. No luck with these. Newbie Shield, thanks for your advice I guess I will finish the rest of this course before I try again. There must be something further on in this course that I need to know before trying affiliate marketing. I read on another one of your reply's to someone that you studied all the subjects down the left hand side of the page, and then, all those across the top before you tried to do anything. That is the direction I am now headed. Once again, thanks to everyone.

Use some other advertising option, $10 a click is very expensive.

I'm the master of having this problem!
It comes down to three issues: 1. Your quality really sucks! Reorganize your campaign, put the keywords on the page properly and in the ads. 2. You have been SLAPPED! If you have been slapped Google does this to you. Change your domain name and it should be fine. 3. None of the two worked... Unfortunately Google also does this for no apparent reason sometimes - I've tried slapping it out of support and on some niches I had to give up.
The trick - if you did 1 and 2, and it still doesn't work: leave the bid at about 3 for a week or so. When I did that it worked - AdWords realized I'm a serious advertiser and pulled my bid down.
This strategy works 50% of the times though... I'm still holding a member of the support team hostage till they tell me what happened on the other 50%...

Many in our organization have had the same problems with a minimum $10 bid.
As Newbie had stated it is the quality of your landing page most likely. Lately Google has been "slapping" anyone with a duplicated landing page.
Once you fix the landing page issue you will also have change the domain as well. So far it has worked for me.
