Successful Coastal Directors are not Born!
It is a journey. Each time I come home from a Coastal Training Event I learn something new. It started at the first event I attended ( sat in the third row) and has continued on and on.
When I talk with prospects, I know that MOST of them have what it takes to be successful, BUT are they willing to do what it takes??
Here's what I mean. If I gave you a coupon for a free big mac, would you go and get it?? Ok, how about a $50 certificate to Outback or Olive Garden? Would you redeem the certificate?
When you talk with a prospect, it's upto them to decide if they are serioud about what they want, or not. If you have a leads list and a few of the leads say they are no longer interested.....they've done you a service, but they don't know what they've said no to.
Anyone can be successful with Coastal Vacations. You simply have to Keep It Simple!
We get paid to talk to people.....it's that simple. If the person your talking to is receptive to the message - Great! If not, NEXT!
But, ANYONE can be successful....You've got to learn not to quit! I learned this from a guy who earned over $10 Million Dollars in this industry.
Learn that anything beyond working your system...isn't work. You can't get ready to get ready. Just do it!
I failed MANY, MANY, MANY times before I found success with Coastal Vacations. I chose to fail forward and today...I choose to be a success story. Know that the challenges you may be experiencing today are only temporary and that you'll have a great story one day.

Jay you are absolutely right.
I don't know how many calls I get per day from new coastal vacations members asking for help, yet I have to say, if they have been reading these posts plus have joined the official coastal training calls, they really honestly know what to do.
If you have no money for advertising there are plenty of free ways to get yourself known, through blog posting, advertising on craigslist dot com, writing articles, press releases (yes even free ones).
You can also do a search for free business opportunity leads, and believe it or not, there are plenty of resources who will let you try their leads for free, some even allow you to try their complete leads and mailing systems at no cost for 1 month.
I too was unsuccessful in my attempts to start a home based business before joining coastal.
The difference when I joined coastal was my mind set. I knew I wanted to work from home and I was 110% committed to making coastal work....6 years later I look back and am just so grateful for such a great opportunity.
Learn from these forums, but limit your time to a max of 1 hr per day, otherwise you will find your mind going around in circles.
Of course once you have success under your belt, you can actually make a good living in coastal by just answering questions on forums like this.
officialcoastaltraining dot com is also another great resource.

I don't know if I can agree with that one. I'm not here to make money, but to help those who are just getting started and to get to know more successful directors. I also want to make sure that people get accurate information about Coastal.....there are so many who are missing vital information for their success.

This forum is a great place to pick up new members. It's great we can help with new members and prospects with our post but the bottomline is as successful directors we will attract people to us. It happens all the time.
I will say that it is great to get calls from prospects for adding my knowledge here. We must understand that new members will always be a byproduct of where you add value to a forum. Our job as successful directors is to let prospects know as much as we can about Coastal so they can make an educated decision. People will follow when you lead.
I will say I love makig post i this forum but I will also say that the fact my team grows as I do is a great reward forgiving freely. I will also agree with Maria about the time you spend in the forum. Seem like we agree alot these days Maria.

We all were born whether Coastal Directors or not.
What does it take to be a successful Director?
First of all buy the package, get trained, get your first 2 qualifying sales, and have a Director that will coach you even after the 2 sales.
Than it takes, luck mixed with work, and a combination of online and offline advertising. But that's where your Coach comes in.
Each of our personalities are different so what may work for one may not work for another.
I truly wish there were a magic formula to make each of sell 100 packages within 6 months, I don't know of one, does anyone else know of a magic formula other than what I just said?
So bottom line....it takes luck, advertising, and keep on learning and absorbing all you can, find your niche, retail, biz opp, B2B, or a combo of all.

Hey Terri,
It takes talking to people and getting the information into peoples. hands.
I use every method possible. I have business cards ( and if you don't have business cards, you should get some) I pass out everywhere.
Everyone is a propsect, they just don't know it yet. When you tell someone you can goto Hawaii for $350 - they become very interested.
was on a call yesterday with the board of directors and leadership council. NO one said it takes LUCK! It does take activity. You've got to talk to people. YOu've got to continue to market your business and you've got to stay connected to the official coastal training...or you miss great trainings like the one I mentioned. There's another today at Noon....be there!!
