Is there anyway to get last minute hotel discounts with the Coastal package?
We are leaving today for Virginia (hi Rhonda!) and will be stopping somewhere along the way over night. We don't know how long we will be driving so we don't know where we will be stopping.
I don't have Intellitravel or an IATA card...
(What about in the future? Is there any thing in our package that I could add that would give me good last minute hotel discounts?)
Thanks!
Dawn

Hey Dawn,
Cool, where in Virginia are you guys going? I am in Williamsburg.
Sorry I can't answer your question.

Dawn, I tried to get my son a good deal on a last minute hotel room in Indianapolis for the GrandPrix ,with Coastal I was able to get 50% off a room for him with the hotel directory.

Rhonda, we are going to Massanutten (Shenandoah Mountain area).
We're looking forward to it! Too bad we're not going to Williamsburg...would love to have lunch or something!

Hi Dawn,
Bring your Directory and your Access cards with you.
You should be able to locate discounts for hotels listed in the area you are visiting, though weekends are usually off limits. Make the booking arrangements over the phone - by cell or payphone - and show your card when you arrive. That should work.

Oh Dawn, Massanutten I know it well I went to college in the area. It is beautiful there. I am a few hours away though perhaps you will use your Coastal Condo card sometime and come to Williamsburg.

Hi Dawn,
I hope you see this before your trip. The Inteletravel card has been one of the BEST cards I've used. It's the only card I carry with me at all times.
I've used it several times on trips to get hotel rooms on the go. Just stopping, and showing the card will get you a discount. 50% is best case...30% would be about right...it all depends on vacancy rate and hotel chain. If you don't like the rate you get...keep looking.

P.S. - The inteletravel membership is no longer a part of the Coastal Membership, but I STRONGLY recommend it to everyone

Jay,
When did Inteletravel stop being a part of the the membership? I have not gotten my package yet so in the event it is not included how does one get it?
Thanks,
Rhonda

Coastal has been having some issues with Inteletravel for some time. The great thing about the BOD is if a vendor has problems they replace them. For now im keeping my Inteletravel status ( my wife got in when the program was like $69 to join and 7.95 a month) and ill add myself as a travel agent on the new program I believe is with Joystar. From what I have seen about the program it has some great features. Stay tuned.
