Hi Jay,
I was re-reading your story in HBC last night, incredible by the way, and was wondering if you would not mind sharing how you schedule and manage your prospecting time...no need to share "secrets' but just your day. Many of us are juggling a full time job, kids etc and need to get a plan of action together and stick to it. I read your post about the TV and that is a biggy with me.
What tips and pointers could you share with the group?
Congratulations on your success with Coastal Vacations.
Rhonda

HI Rhonda,
Every business is about a system. I've taken bits and pieces from every system...what I like, I use. What doesn't make sense I leave behind.
1) I don't do alot of follow up. Everyone on my team called me to get started. I have not been a chaser. Some train their teams "the fortune is in the follow up" but I must tell you that I found that a prospect that has not looked at the information on Tuesday, has still not looked on Friday....why waste time calling them again, and again, and again.
2) Use a simple system that uses a combination of several sources of information. I've recorded all my information on my toll free number so I get a note when someone calls to review my details. THOSE are the people I follow up with.
3) Commit and stick with it. Commit to 2-4 hours a day and stick with it. Focus your activity on new leads and on supporting your team.
4) Don't get caught up in the politics. You are an independent business owner and it's easy to feel alone in your business...but DO NOT get caught up in the politics that DO exist with this business.
5) Enjoy the process. Our #1 activity is MARKETING.....If your not learning how to market your business. You are missing the boat. I was a pioneer in internet based network marketing and the #1 thing I learned for a $350,000 monthly income earner was to take people OFFLINE and bring them online.
6) Market where others don't. Ever notice if you open up the yellow pages under plumbers that it lists EVERY PLUMBER in your area? The internet is just like that and if you market online you are just like those plumbers. You are a part of the competition....and no matter what anyone says. You MUST have a director who knows what they are doing and have YEARS under their belt.
To your success

Hey Jay!
Great post, thanks for sharing the info
I'm curious with regards to your toll-free follow-up. How do you get the contact number to follow-up with those who have called you ~ are these prospects that you have already been in touch with and have directed to your toll-free #, or do you simply call the number back that is delivered to your e-mail in box?
Thanks again, Steph

Hi Steph,
I see your a member of the Coastal Synergy Group. The official coastal system gathers the phone numbers from the people who call your toll free number.
BTW....this system is frowned upon by the coastal synergy group.

Hi Jay, I would love to hear the message you leave on the first call that has so many going to your voicemail...Is it short and to the point?Do you tell them who you are or do you just simply tell them to go dial into your voicemail??You have done this longer than I have so is it your posture??
I should give you my 800 number so I can hear what you say!LOL
Thanks for all the tips and advice that you share with all of us on here! ~Viola
