I purchased ContactMate quite a while ago and ran into technical problems. They still have not been able to resolve the problems for me.
Is anyone else having problems or am I the only one? Are you able to run the automatic updates? (This is where my problem lies...)
Are you happy with what you are able to accomplish with ContactMate?
(I am on the fence between trying to stick with it to resolve the problems and requesting a refund...)
Feel free to PM me with your experiences, if you prefer.
Thanks,
Dawn

Dawn, just email support and tell them you want to do a "GoToMeeting" session and they will get on your computer and see what the problem is. One problem I was having was I didn't have enough memory for the program. I put in some more memory and it is working alot better. Sorry to hear about your problems but keep emailing them and they will respond. Just ask Bill and Noreen. They are probably going to invite the support team over for Thankgiving Dinner since they know them so well.

Thanks Harold. We've been through it already. Spent several hours in the GotoMeeting session not only with the Contact mate support folks but also with the developer of the software. They haven't yet been able to resolve the problem. I'll keep trying a bit longer...but I'm frustrated today as I cannot even open ContactMate because it is requiring an update - which I cannot do on my system for some reason.
I'll keep trying...

Dawn,
We have been definately finding bugs, but everything has been able to be resolved. I bought a laptop recently and have contact mate running on that. I think it helps that we are working on a clean slate. We needed to get a patch for Vista which we got right away. I don't know how old your computer is but I have come to realize with other applications, that older ones sometimes cannot keep up with the newer applications. And there is the memory problem that Harold had. I really am happy I got contact mate, but it is certainly not plug and play.

My husband is a computer techy-nerd guy so our computers are pretty current but there must be something that is causing a problem.
Maybe I should try loading it on my laptop...can I just go back to the website and download it again on my laptop? (I suppose I can ask the support guys this question...).
Thanks,
Dawn

Dawn,
Bill said to contact him anytime. He would be happy to help with your contact mate questions. He might be able to help you troubleshoot if he has had the same problem. bill at succeedwithcoastalvacations dot com.

Thanks, Noreen...I'll do that tomorrow. Although, I have had the developer of ContactMate looking into it and HE can't even figure out what the problem is, but maybe he is not a computer expert, just a programming expert.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Dawn,
I have a 2 year old notebook that was in need of fixing...so I took my New Dell M2010 and put the software on it. The new system has Vista, which creates so challenges.
A software program is only as good as the support. I made a support request and the following day was on the phone with a technician for an hour and an half.
Check with support to see if they can help you.

I have been using contact mate for quite some time. I have currently 10,000 contacts in a coastal campaign. I am having some response as I should for Email leads. I love the dialer function but as I am using skype there are some issues so I am limited. The voice software is handy to send out blasts to your pipeline or team and has some really great telecenter functions. It also boasts some very easy to use sql functions making integration of contacts seemless and automatic. I am in the process of setting up a class that disgusses issues that people may be having with the software. Id love to hear some feedback if you or someone you know would care to participate.

Have you been talking to Steve at contactmate? I think he discussed with Bill having a discussion group on how to maximize the system. I think it is a great idea. What are your thoughts? Send us a PM if you want.
What I have found is this - I would not recommend this for brand new team members who may still work full time. It can be a bit overwhelming. I offer to use the system for new members to give them a boost and get their first two sales as quickly as possible. I think in order to have a really successful business, one needs some kind of contact management system so when my new members are ready to take that step, I will be there to help them every step of the way. Also, if we have a weekly discussion group, I think it would be great for those new to the contact mate system.

Contactmate is having a sale until midnight tonight. It is $395.00 instead of $595. I'm thinking of buying it, but was wondering if anyone had any negative experiences, now that you have been using it for a short while. Postive comments as well, would be appreciated. I know some people had problems at first--how is it going now? Worth it?? Thanks!

Shelby,
I am very glad we have it. It works. However, if you decide to get it, be prepared. It is not plug and play. You will probably need to spend some time with their support and make sure you watch the recorded webinars. You want to get full funtionality out of it. I bet by now they have some of the bugs worked out and you may have an easier time with it. I think it is definately worth it, but be prepared to put some time in to it in the beginning.

Does Contactmate have pre-written email and broadcast messages or do you have to write your own messages? If they are pre-written, can you edit them?

Yes, I'm just getting around to using Contactmate and my 1st test - Today....was a big success. It's not the easiest software to use, BUT it's simply when you watch the webinar provided by the company.
You can edit and create your own messages or simply plug into what's available to you.
Today, I sent an email to 400+ members of my team. I sent a voice message using Skype to 85 leads that I usually would have called. YES...there were a few issues. Like wrong email address or disconnected phone number....that happens with all leads and I enjoyed the process of learning how Contactmate handles those.

Jay,
Please share how you have 400+ teammates. I know you have alot of internet marketing out there and would love to see what you have found to be the most effective. Im starting to learn the PPC stuff so ill have that going soon as well as ill be a force on myspace and youtube soon as well. 400+ is impressive and I bet everyone is waiting to hear how you do it.
Im seeing that Contactmate is a good thing. So I see I need to have it asap. Plus all of my other marketing systems are free so spending the $600 or $400 to own the software is a steal. I know you are in the know on alot of stuff so please keep us updated on how you are doing with it. By now I know Sean has to be tired of all of my questions lol.

Yes, the bugs have been worked out. I'm actually working with my team and have gotten it to a point where when we have 4 people, we can get it for $350.
Contact me directly if you want to get the software.

Cindy,
Jay is correct the bugs have been worked out. To answer your question you can have multiple campaigns running at once. Just so I am clear a campaign is a series of emails or voice messages scheduled to go out x days after the campaign is started. You can also send out batches of a single email to your contacts while multiple campaigns are running. The issue you need to be aware of is your ISP. Traditional internet service to the home limits the amount of emails you can send out daily. There are other vendors such as RUNBOX (cost per year $50), who we use, that enable you to send out more emails than your current ISP. I have sent out in excess of 8,000 emails in a single day. I don't recommend doing that everyday but I didn't end up in the SPAMHOUSE.(Which did happen only once when I first got Contalktalk and tried to see how much it would handle. What I found out was Contalktalk could handle it my ISP could not.) It is also worth mentioning that Contacttalk also will allow you to send emails out thru their ISP. Recently Contalktalk incorperated a new series of campaigns specifically designed for Coastal. They offer both a business opportunity campaign as well as a retail campaign. I have only used the Biz Opt campaign. It is brilliant, a series of 3 email and 2 voice messages that will have your prospect prequalified before you pick up the phone.(In our case before they call into our Sales Center. We are with We Close Your Sales (WCYS). If I can answer any additional questions give me a call or send me a PM. I will be glad to answer them for you. Their site is pretty informative as well.
