I started running an ad yesterday on Google Adwords and I never could see my ad on the first page. I always have my bids set high enough to get on the first page of the most popular searches for Coastal so I was confused about my ad not showing up. I started messing with my bid price and had to go all the way up to $2.50 a click to get on the first page. GOOD GRIEF!! I used to bid $1.60 and I was always at least 5th or 6th on the page. Oh,well. Such is life. One cool thing is I bet 80% of the ads on the first page are for the Call Center. WE ROCK!! Sorry, I just had to mention that. lol

OK, it just now hit me that I post like the NC country boy that I am and put "Went" in the subject where I should have put "Gone". Would you "english teacher" types please forgive me? Thanks in advance.

I just noticed this yesterday. It wasn't like that a couple of weeks ago.

If they are new advertisers, they will probably drop out after a few days once they realize how much it is costing them...unless they have deep pockets. I would check back every few days. When you see Dean's site move back up to number 3 or 4 then you will know the prices have gone back down (unless he goes in and ups his bids.)

Jason,
I sent you an email. I don't know if we want to get that specific on the forum.

I up my bids only on weekends and let myself be on the later pages during the week. I still get opt ins cheaper than buying leads. It's a balance, that's for sure!

Try alternate advertising methods, they may not be so simple, but can be more effective.

Harold.. you make me laugh. Is it NOT possible that the 80% representation of call centre members are actually what has contributed much to pushed up the prices?

Just a thought.. maybe some alternative promotions methods should be more focused upon? Maybe different keywords? Other engines?

At any rate.. $2.50/click sounds silly steep. Has to be a much better bang for your buck out there! I know Im in the top 3 consistently for my keywords and its not costing me nearly that much.

You have that famous list in your back office, and there are literally thousands of resources on the net full of great ideas too. Keep playing with it!

Cheers

oh, I've looked at that too.. interesting! Let me know how it goes for you. I remember goldcalling a wee while ago.. seemed to start out strong and die pretty quick, quality wise.

but, someone somewhere all the time is coming up with a better mousetrap!

best of luck!
