Hi, I've been a coastal director since June. I have not had any luck selling this package to anyone both retail and recruiting. I was my sponsor's first sign up so her and I are both first timers at this, and her director is MIA.

Here's my problem. I took the cruise vacation that was activated already. Now, a 3 night cruise, the same exact cruise normally is around $279/person, without Coastal. I thought it would be $129/person as the voucher says, but then it's an additional $75/person processing, and you are on the bottom level in bunk beds so the cheapest upgrade is $150/person. I'm already over what I would have paid with a travel agent so how am I supposed to sell this product when I'm afraid to use it again myself. I could only imagine how much the 7 day Hawaii fly and stay will cost.... Is this purely a business or are we selling a really crappy vacation package?

Melissa,
Don't judge the package from one bad experience. Let me suggest going to one of the nightly conference calls and join in and ask questions. That is their customer support. You will learn how to use the package and be able to ask questions to the members of the Board of Directors. The cruise line is probably running a temporary special and sometimes those do cost less than some of the deals we can offer. You still have to pay port fees, though, with any cruise, if I'm not mistaken. Before you pass complete judgment on Coastal, use one of the condo or Hotel vouchers and see how that goes. The number to the nightly calls is 620-294-3000 pin 1103# and the time is 9pm eastern, Mon. thru Thursday. Don't be afraid to call and ask questions. The Board of Directors wants you to enjoy the package so they will be happy to show you the best ways to use it.

As far as sales go, how are you marketing Coastal Vacations. Are you using classifieds, internet, leads or warm market?

Hi Melissa,

I am very sorry that you have had a negative experience with your package so far. I'm not sure what happened with your Carnival cruise, I can say that I gave one of those away and the couple that I gave it to was very pleased. It cost them about $204 per person. The same exact cruise (even that same ship!) cost my best friend and her husband about $1300. You do have to pay processing fees for the vacations. Some of them are refundable at check in; it all depends on the vendor.

I agree with hsimpsonjr, don't judge the package because of one vacation, there are literally hundreds of other vacations in our package! I also agree that you should check out the product Q&A calls; there is a basic one on Thursday night at 9pm EST. There is also a more advanced product call on Wednesday's at 2pm EST (I am actually on that call now!). The number is the same, 620-294-3000 pin 1103#. That call is usually not as crowded as the 9pm call and it is much easier to get on and ask Stephanie a question.

I am very sorry that you and your director are having a hard time. I suggest that you both find a great support and training network and get yourselves plugged in.

Also, are you plugged into Dani Johnson? I strongly feel that professional development always follows personal development!

I hope this helps!

Lora

Also, look into maybe splitting the cost with a partner. You can have two people on the membership. I believe we have a good example of that in our prescence right now.

Thank you for your responses. Can any of you explain how the larger packages work based on your own experiance. For example, the Hawaii fly and stay. I didn't send in the voucher, but would like to use that one since I can take the whole family. It's 6 nights accom. plus airfare, so what's the real cost, or out of pocket cost other than food?

Melissa,
I can't answer that but I do know that you could probably find that our if you go to the Q&A calls they do each night for Coastal. Just look in your kit and you should have a list of what time the calls start and what number to dial. Sorry I couldn't answer your question.

Hello Melissa. I am new to coastal also. I have hear alot of testimonials that have had great experiences using there package. There have only been 2 or 3 others that have had a bad experience like yourself. But that will happen occasionally with anything. I belong to the Coastal Synergy Group and there is tremendous support with them. I firmly believe the only way to fail in coastal is to Quit. I ordered old leads to get the feel of the business and am have a good bit of success. Try using the discount cards and check out the Hawaii Cruise and Stay. I am sure that you will save more money with that one than a travel agent.

Good Luck,

Chuck

Melissa,

You need to get on a product call. I'm not in Coastal and have found out about the vacation packages and the discount cards very easy. I call reps, ask questions, dig through the internet.
What level did you come in at?

I do not know what group you are plugged into, but I would venture to say......dump them... if no one can answer your questions. You want to be associated with people that are doing it. Making sales, going on trips, etc. etc.....birds of a feather flock together mentality.

What I am about to say is true about any direct sales business, This can be the highest paid easy work, or the lowest paid hard work .

I would be more than willing to share some ideas and information I have gathered.

Melissa,

I don't know about that particular vacation, I haven't tried to use or activate that one. I have used my cards extensively and I have given several of the vouchers away, all with good results. I agree with Brian, get on a product call, the one on Wednesday afternoon would probably be your best bet.

Melissa, I would agree with everyone else.....Check out the product calls

I am with Coastal Synergy Group and we also have live Product presentations online by our leaders.

The other advice I can give you is take another vacation. I sent one of my prospects on the Cruise and Stay, and they loved it.

And I completely agree with Brian, find a group that is making money and vacationing and helping others out.

I don't know how what group you are in or how easy it is to seek out others in it, but I would suggest doing that if you can, try to get ahold of one of your topline people.....And I agree, if you can't get your questions answered then I think your best bet is to go somewhere you can.

Hope that helps a little.

Hi Melissa!

I have had great experiences with my L3 package and not so wonderful ones too. I've always saved, but some savings are much deeper then others. The industry is very fluid- so it varies by lots of factors.

If you are looking for a director and have a package, I'm open to helping orphans! If you are serious enough to be here asking questions, then you are serious enough for me!

Cheers

Jani

Hello Melissa

I have always booked my vacations online. We have taken many condo stays for just over $200/week

I have had many in my group take the cruise and stays as well as the cruises.

They have thought they were great and well priced.

If you would like me to walk you thru one of the back offices so you can see just what the level I packages offers, I would do so gladly.

I hope this helps
maria
FYI the fly and stay vacation cert has been taken out of the package.

HI all
How do we give away vacations? It says on the sheets that we must use originals, but we are also supposed to keep the originals in the package, so how do we give it away???

Hi Susan,
You can photocopy them and/or give away the photocopies or give away the originals, you don't have to have all the originals in the package because it's your package, you can do as you wish.

Keeping the originals refer to certain certificates not all of them, the Disneyland cert. being one of them.

If you look at Doc 6 on the fax on demand, you can reorder the vacation vouchers for all the vacations for $6.95....
