I'm new to this survey thing but I find it quite fun. I recently joined Planetpanel, are they good? How much time do you spend on surveys and how much can you earn an average month?

There are some good survey companies out there, here are the ones I have been using and the ones that pay me. Keep in mind that it takes some time until they will send you the higher paying surveys. Most survey companies will test you for a while and scan your results for inconcistency.
Stay away from the the companies where you have to pay a fee to join! Stay away from the so called "product trial offers" where they pay you if you join, and you will be charged monthly fees after the trial period. In most cases you will have a difficult time to cancel your subscribtion!
Also keep in mind that the survey that works for me may not work for you. It depends on your demographic location and the targeted audience the Survey Company is looking for.
Here are some:
GlobalTestMarket.com Greenfieldonline.com Your2Cents.com Surveyspot.com PineCone.com ClearVoiceSurveys.com e-Rewards.com Esearch.com Inboxdollars.com Sendearnings.com ipsos I-say.com
How much money can you make? Well, the most I've gotten paid in a month was around $600, but you have to put a lot of time into it. Those $50 - $250 per survey ain't happening. Most are between $1 and $5 and take anywhere between 20 and 40 minutes to finish. With some there is a lot of reading involved.
Happy Survey chasing!

I've done this in the past and just didn't find it the time it took worth the money I made. I could go work at McDonalds and make triple that an hour.
Until I find one that lets you build a downline I'll stear clear of them.

To add to the list above, Opinion Outpost, Lightspeed, and My Survey are excellent! I have been paid many times over by each of these companies and many of the ones listed by karls1973. In fact, my wife just informed me that I got a check from Opinion Outpost today for $11.00. Besides Pinecone research, Opinion Outpost is by far my favorite company to take surveys for.

How much you earn really depends on how seriously you take this. I earn a few hundred per month doing it on the side along with my affiliate marketing.

I've never done surveys, but it seems to me from what I've been seeing here, I would have to say that by doing surveys, you could definitely expect to make much less than minimum wage.

I have done this and if you do it you need to spend money on a program called Roboform. It fills in the survey forms at the push of a button. Cool program, but still you are earning about a buck and a quarter an hour. Might as well go rake leaves for Mrs. Smith on the corner for 5 bucks. On top of being time consuming, low paying, and boring, you have to sort through hundreds of junky emails.

As was mentioned in an earlier post the better paying surveys start coming after you gain experience and the research companies have faith in your responses. But there is definitely good money to be made.

Anyone making more than $600 a month taking surveys? What do you do extra or special that helps?

I only fill out surveys while I am at work lol. I have a lot of downtime. This month I have probably made $200, most from cashcrate, but I spend a lot of time with that one. Other sites I use, $10 here, $5 here. Keep joining reliable sites and it will all add up....just remember, each survey is usually 15 min long. Depends how much time you want to put into it.

Sure if you tried to consider surveys your job...you wouldn't be very impressed with yoru earnings. But if you consider it as above and beyond income...money earned for little time and effort (and no investment)...then they can be great.
I make over $500 a month doing them. This month has been incredible as I have had some big focus groups come through for me and I am well over $1,400...but that is rare.

That is great. Could I do a short interview with your for my blog. I will post your blog address or any program you want to promote. If you are in any 2 tier affiliate programs for paid surveys I would look at those as well. I get almost 1 million visitors a year now to my website and blog now so I get good traffic and would like to document a successful person making money doing paid surveys every month.

I don't get too many surveys from Planetpanel. But many other survey sites have been great for me, such as GlobalTestMarket, Greenfield Online, Surveyspot.. I spend average 1.5 hours a day and make average $200/month. I can make more if I spend more time on it. Hope it helps.
I just want to say that surveys work well for some people, but may not work well for everybody, you have to try to know if it works for you or not.

I earn about $20-50 per month and don't spend a single minute doing surveys or completing offers. My earnings come directly from my referrals.
I made Silver Referral Rank with CashCrate. I now receive 25% of what my referrals make and 10% of what their referrals make. Plus I will receive a $1.00 bonus for every referral from the United States, Canada, or United Kingdom when they complete their first offer. CashCrate does pay every month by check, -I have pics posted on my blog.... (link in signature).
By the way, I have never heard of Planetpanel so I don't have an opinion about the company but wish you the best of luck.

The survey companies should have faith in you, then they start sending you some really good surveys. It can take months.Though, it is true that you don't make enough money doing surveys. Other options are do affiliate marketing, start your own blog and gets traffic to your website.

It generally takes about 2 months to start getting a good amount of surveys. You will however get some even within the 2 months but they wont be a significant amount.
