Quoting: TJamMoneyMan 1. Remove PayPal as a payment option, as well as all references to PayPal, including the PayPal logo and/or shopping cart, from your website(s)... and, 2. Submit the online Acceptable Use Policy affidavit. I don't have time for this right now but I will get back to this issue later and share my results with those who are interested.
That is actually very good news, at least there is a way out (maybe) I got my mail from paypal today quoting the 20 20 programme as the reson why, considering the amount of transactions that I put through Paypal and the 5 or 6 that have gone through this stupid programme I feel really racked off. It appears that something or someone within this programme has done something to really irritate Paypal, if they were to rigorously enforce their policy their must be tens of thousands of users who would be effected.
I will send them a mail once I have calmed down a bit, btw I do think your irritation at Paypal is misplaced, if you get the number of the 20 20 chap please pm me, I would like a word with him!!!!!!
Regards

I fully feel PAYPAL is the culprit here. Not only is 2020u, 6x6million and other sites NOT a violation of their AUP but there are TONS of complaints against paypal.
They have frozen MILLIONS of dollars of customer money for 180 days without paying a penny in interest!
They have access to your money just like a bank but they are NOT subject to the laws of the U.S. banking system.
There has been a class action suit against paypal which they had to settle for $9.2million!!!
Google paypal as I have suggested and you will see what I mean.

Actually, 2020u was not what caused paypal to freeze my account. They surely would have, but they shut me down because of my 6x6million promotions.

Hi maricel, Would you mind if I ask you that are those transactions only the payments you received from your group through 2020u or also include the payments you paid to 2020u when you signed up? or does anybody have any idea? thanks.

I finally received some good news from paypal tonight, they are letting me withdraw my funds. If you have had your account permanently limited (that's what happened to me) check the very first email that they sent you, mine said that "if i had funds in my account, that I could withdraw them". Well every way that I tried was shutdown, so I sent them an email stating the obvious that THEY SAID I COULD WITHDRAW my funds, told them I expected a check in the mail within a week and if I didn't receive my funds, my lawyer would be contacted, I cc'd a local law firm in that email, 2 days later I get an email informing that I can indeed withdraw my funds. SO PLEASE CHECK YOUR INITIAL EMAIL if they are holding your funds for 180 days, they may be a way to get them now and not 6 months from now.

In the mail from Paypal they stated that their terms had been breached by using the 20 20 programme, I suppose they meant by receiving money from it as I had 5 sign ups

Unfortunately Paypal has been getting away with this for years, and everyone keeps using them anyway. I joined 2020 myself and I knew better! Anytime any program says anything about "instant payments" and go on and on about the opportunity and nothing about purchasing a product up front you are in paypals eyes a ponzi scheme. Your are promoting/selling an opportunity to promote/sell an opportunity..a big no-no in paypals eyes. The admin of 2020 should have checked this out before he put up a program that paypal would bring to a screeching halt and cause all of his members to lose their paypal accounts. He should have known better! But like most people who start a program like this..all he saw was dollar signs! As long as everyone keeps using paypal they will continue doing this! If more program owners would thouroughly investigate their payprocessors before they put their programs online they would save themselves and their paying members all these problems. They ALL should avoid paypal at all costs..and then more people would have to follow suit and use other payprocessors as well in order to make money and that would put a huge dent in paypals pockets. By the way my 7 year account with paypal also got limited permanently because of 2020 and I was only in this a week, luckily I never kept much in there because I don't trust paypal but I know quite a few others who lost a LOT of money!

Good post Freebird,
Although I am really cheesed off about this at the end of the day it is spelled out in the Paypal policies, I just did not read them (does anyone) Maybe foolishly I have always taken the accept paypal button as a sign of legitimacy in a programme as I assumed that they would be vetted before accepting Paypal, obviously this is not the case. I still see the income 4 beginners programme plastered everywhere, this must have many more members than 2020 and yet is seemingly ignored. The common thread in all the recent limitations to accounts appears to be 2020. Once they pick up on that they look at someones accounts and then mention the other programmes. I would be interested to hear if anyone has been limited purely for being associated with I4B, maybe Paypal have taken a view on this and decided that they can send a loud message by closing the accounts of 200 people, but can not risk losing 20,000 in one go.

You are so right about that Maricel! It's unfortunate that people will blindly join up with a program that uses paypal thinking that just because they see the paypal button then it must be an OK program with paypal and not really checking it out to find out for themselves. As we all learned the hard way..this is NOT the case and everyone ends up getting burned sooner or later. So everyone should learn a lesson from this and beware before they jump in and join anything on the internet.

Hence the reason for my pointed questions in the Lawn Chair Millionaires thread.
I hope you LCM'ers understand!

TJamMoneyMan..you should ask questions. There is nothing wrong with that! Everyone should! That is the ONLY way to make the right choice FOR YOU whether to join something or avoid it. You should always ask questions and follow your gut instincts. After all it's YOUR money you are risking and no one but you can make that decision.

One friend of mine just got notification from paypal that his funds has been confiscated and his account closed permanently! Where I only got the message that my account was permanently limited and will get any money owed me as much as 180 days.

I suppose I was lucky then, I always spent my Paypal balance on other things, apparantly in another thread TJ has had his account restored. Must say I am still really cheesed off about the whole thing, but if anything good has come of this it will give a warning to others to be careful when signing up to anything that accepts Paypal. BTW TJ LCM uses other payment methods and does not have a business model anywhere near the same as 2020

It looks like the 2020unlimited pages are functional again if you updated your new payment processors..they are using e-gold and safepay. So if you want to continue with 2020 you just update your options on your comstat page and your page will be up and functional again.. If not you do nothing and your account will automatically be deleted after 1/1/08.

You know, after PAYING $50, you'd think mr website owner would send the customer/promoters NOTICE!
It's less than the LEAST he could do at this point!!

He did send out notice, how would freebird658, myself and others receive the email that stated such? You need to check your junk folder TJam.

Checked my spam folder. No notice. How? I don't know.
I heard from J.B. only once - a welcome message after I paid up. THAT message didn't get lost in my spam folder.
And for the record, MY 2020u site is still not up.
I call it like I see it. I didn't blame ANYONE but PAYPAL for this mess.
Still, the website owners are not without ethical obligation concerning all this. J.B. should be making efforts to contact EVERYONE who has had a problem with 2020u.
The same holds true for any website owner who by now, should also be aware of what problems people have been having with paypal.
The i4b website owner too I had to contact.
If I didn't get i4b website owner Jon Davies address from you Marv, I would have had to figure out some way of contacting HIM as well.
I shouldn't have to. They MUST know there is a problem with paypal and their site by now. The website owners should be reaching out. I have gotten no notice from either of them.
If I didn't follow this thread, my 2020u website would have been deleted in two weeks and I would have never known.
I think that deserves advance notification, just like we all deserved advance notification from Paypal - it's only fair.

No Marv, I didn't receive an email either, I found out the site was up after I filled out the details for the new processors in the communication station. I went back and checked my site later and it was up. The admin does need to find another email account or something cause his emails does not get through to ALOT of members. I had signups that NEVER received their website details after signing up and they tried contacting him numerous times with no answer. And I emailed him as well. And No they never made it to our junk mail either.

Well TJAM, paypal and the program owner may have been wrong, but there is nothing we can do about it now but move on. At least the owner did not close down completely and he did change payment processors and they way the payments are handled. I think this will work much better once it gets going. The only beef I have now is the email (or lack thereof) situation. Something needs to be changed there so the members will actually receive the admin emails.

Just FYI, I've been watching this topic and I know that Passport To Wealth is on paypals no no list too. I think that if your doing ANY online business opp other than ebay, you should steer clear of Paypal as a payment processor. Google checkout is really good. Jason

Yes I have been hearing a lot of good reports about Google checkout, I hear it is a very easy checkout process, and very easy to set up. I also heard at one time they didn't charge any fees either, don't know if that is still true though.

That and SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT PAYPAL!!!
(also offer advice, and shared experience to those dealing with similiar issues)
AND, hold all website owners and promoters to a high standard. (which for a precious few, won't require any effort)

There's only so much I can do.
People who promote a website have some obligations as well.
Since I PAID into 2020u, I am trying to at least keep the site I paid $50 for!
So, I went online and SWEATED out trying to figure what the the HECK the teeny tiny thumbnail of a window found on the comstat page has to offer as far as getting my 2020u website back up.
After being FORCED to sign into SAFEPAY, as well as E-GOLD, I managed, with no small 'effort', to get through the 2020u TEENY TINY web window maze.
I STILL don't know what's up with my 2020u account - after hitting the 'submit' button on this TEEENY TIIINY website window/maze, I was instantly directed to YAHOO!!!
DON'T ASK ME WHY!!!
Still no notice or help offered from admin at 2020u.
There's only so much a customer/promoter can do when there's a problem with a particular website.
The website owners should have to earn their money as well!!

Is anyone having any success with 2020unlimited now that they are using e-gold and safepay? One of my signups got a referral on Dec 17 but neither of us has been paid yet. They said in an email then that it would take 10 days for their payment to clear..that was 2 days ago..and no word from 2020. We don't even know which processor the signup used. Don't think I like this new payment system..there is no way to check your account or pending payments or anything, we need a back office cause your just left in the dark...any comments?
