I was not sure as to how to start this, I never thought I would be in a network marketing company to begin with, let alone post in a forum.

I will try and keep this short and hope to here some feedback, I was invited to a meeting to here Steve Smith talk about his new company, did I join, no, not that night, not for quite a while, after the first meeting it just didn't seem to fit with me. But I kept asking questions and yes I joined a MLM. Oh, that first meeting, my-self included twelve in the room at most. After meeting Mr. Smith, you would never know what he has accomplished, one of the nicest guys I ever met.

Has anyone heard of this company?

Now, I will say I have been extremely lucky! My first call, I got in touch with a representative of his last company and my downline has grown from there.

We looked at Ultimate Match and decided on YTB (your travel biz) after reviewing both compensation plans in addition to actual people searching for that particular opportunity. When we looked at the Ultimate Match opportunity...the travel piece was looming on the horizon.
At this point all is great with YTB as it is one of the fastest growing online travel agencies and is publicly traded. Solid!
As to the MLM marketing piece...I have been in an different MLM for over 5 years. Home based MLM marketing is the best as long as your willing to do the work.
Best of luck to you

jlw,

Although I have never heard of UMTravel before, I have made money in different MLM companies. Yes, there is money to made with MLM's, if the company has a good product and a solid foundation.
Unfortunately a lot of companies have great ideas and then fall to way side because of poor management and training.

I am glad that you were able to get a marketer under your belt, this will certainly makes things better for you.
In order to keep your down line strong be sure to train them well.
If people are just brought into the business because they're sold on how much money they can make and never learn the product, your job will become difficult and your down line will diminish.

Here's to your success,
Cindy

Thank you both for your replies, I am new to forums and really enjoy reading the posts. As for not hearing about Ultimate Choice Travel, I am not surprised. Ultimate Match launched June, 2005 with its first service being on line dating. Next was exotic travel, package deals, cruises and overseas flights etc. Well you go with what sells, as a business owner myself, I was not surprised to see Ultimate Match go with travel. Simply a business decision. At the end of 2006, the direction turned to travel, hence Ultimate Choice Travel. Yes, we are very early in his new business, but one of the posts I read, find someone who has taken a company from "0" to making money. Well I think he pulled that off, Excel made more millionaires than any other mlm, please, if I am wrong let me know.

And here we are at the beginning, will history repeat? I hope so.
How many times in this industry does this happen? My guess is not very often, that's why I keep going, the one thing I have learned in my short time in network marketing, the only people who make money, simply don't give up.

Good luck everyone,

JLW

OMG!!! My husband and I just heard about Ultimate Choice Travel a couple of months ago.

What sold us on the concept was who was behind it (Steve Smith), the low initial cost ($99), and it was truly ground-floor. We were the second couple in the Philadelphia market to sign up. The first couple were the ones who signed us up.

Within just a few months (since Jan), we now have almost 50 agents in the Philadelphia/Delaware area! For us it was a no-brainer. We figured between the initial $99 fee and the 19.95 monthly fee, if we stick it out a year and nothing became of it, we would be out $340. We spend more than that eating out in a year.

At the rate things are progressing, I should be able to leave my full time job within a year. We can hardly sleep at nite we are so excited!

I don't KNOW Joel Guerin, I AM Joel Guerin! And yes, for those skeptics out there, this IS the greatest opportunity in MLM. And a big "yes" to the person above who said you should LEARN the business! NO business succeeds without the owner learning it, and then WORKING it. But if you don't mind work, this is the most highly leveraged opportunity I've ever come across in more than 35 years since I completed an MBA. And this is a heck of a lot more fun than working in the conventional corporate world!!! Steve took a good two years to tinker with the program and the compensation plan. But now it's taking off. I know of no other comp plan with THREE forms of income to UNLIMITED depth. My income is up 1,000% in 9 months, and I don't mind sharing numbers with someone who's serious. Feel free to contact. I already have down line in 16 states!

Sure I know Joel, he is part of the downline that started with my first phone call. Never would I have thought something could grow like this from picking up the phone. Now I can't take credit for it, the woman I signed up was with Excel, and she knew what could possibly happen. And now it looks as if everything is coming together, she and her downline have taught me a lot about network marketing.

As for making the rally, no my wife was not feeling well so I became soccer dad for the weekend. With a competitive program you simply do not miss games.

Hello all,

My wife and I got involved with UCT back in November. Our first time in MLM. We live in Pennslyvania (one of Joel's 16 states), and we are seeing positive growth in our area.
I attended the rally in Kentucky and personally met Steve Smith, Rayner,Tanya,Brad & Chris. I suggest to you, when there is another rally do your best to attend. Meeting all these people and having personal one on one time was a huge benefit to me. Seeing firsthand, how this truly is a family business.
Looking forward to learn from others here about your successes and any tips on what we can do to make our own business more successful

walt

Greetings all - my wife and I are new to MLM and feel lucky to start with UTC. The thing that makes me hesitate in sales is the guilt I feel if I sell someone something they dont want and dont need and want. I've found that travel is easy to talk about, and people take trips. I don't sell a product people will regret later in life! We compared UTCs prices with a local agency and the agency beat UTC on only 2 of 20 trips. So, I don't feel bad recommending them to other people. And of course, it makes our trips a whole lot easier. Here's an example. An older couple we know are taking a cruise. They are booking a total of a little over $4000 for a nice cruise, thru us. That's a $1000 check for us - 25% commission of anything booked through your site (including your vacations!) So, with that one transaction, we've made more money than we spent to get started, plus all of the monthly payments for a year - $300 more! We're excited about it - it's not like your selling candles or hair-care products - your selling memories (sounds cheesy, but it's true). I would highly recommend it if you are just starting out in MLM like us, or if you are looking for an MLM with a solid foundation and an excellent product. Oh yeah - a lot of people make a big deal about signing up people. I don't sign up anyone I don't think would really be able to benefit. I know signing up someone is easy money, but if there's a person (like our sister-in-law) who's vaugly interested, but we think would be quickly discouraged and dissillusioned, we advise them against it (as we did in her case). This is a cool chance to make some extra money and have fun, but don't go in thinking you'll be an instant millionaire - that's my best advise. However, if you are interested in MLM, (people do make money in them) - the one with a product this cool is the way to go. Thanks for all the other posts!

By the way Joel, would you mind giving out a few tips for success? You seem to be doing quite well. We're doing alright, but are lousy at the marketing side of it.

I just found out something about UTC - the commission you get through your site bookings is 25% of 25% (6.75%). Hmmm - i smell scam!!
You can only get ahead in UTC or any other MLM by signing up A LOT of other people who statistically will have a 97% failure rate. hmmm - I don't want that on my concience. When we thought the commissions were 25% of booking thru our site, it seemed worth it. Now, we find better rates elsewhere without paying $30 a month. What a gyp!! We're getting out as soon as possible.
Another sleezy thing about UTC. My father was going to book through us - the rates for hotels were all the same as when he called the actual hotels. Except for one - the "BEST VALUE" rate that showed up for the first hotel. It was $10 dollars higher than when he contacted the hotel!! UTC WILL make some people millionaires, but it will do so on the backs of many people who get suckered in (like we did) on false promises. If you want that on your concience, so be it. I'll make my money the honest way - hard work and education!

BHP, your facts are wrong.

UCT pays reps 25% of the MARGIN on each booking as a new rep.

UCT reps as they promote can earn up to 47% of the margin for each trip book.

quite right - mlmguruguy - turns out that was merely an example my 'higher up was giving me. Devilish blighter to try and find that in the literature. The margin could be 25% of total booking, and new reps would get 25% of that. I strongly suspect that the average margin is significantly lower, however.
My honest review of UTC - is that it's classic mlm. You have to sign up a significant amount of people to make reasonable income - even breaking even thinking you're going to sell travel is a bit of a pipe dream. The benefits for agents are so-so, but unless you travel A LOT, you can get better deals elswhere w/out paying the upfront fee and monthly fee.
Just as in any mlm - sign up a whole bunch of people, most of which will have a bad experience and quit, and you will make money.

Many on this thread got in early (I did as well). This will make some people a lot of money, but at the expense of a lot of other people who don't take advantage of the gullibility of others. I realize there is HUGE income potential - but the wife and I talked about it and can't have it on our concience. Someday it will saturate (and likely soon - Steve's other dream children did), and will leave some people very rich, and others in the cold. This is mlm land.
